This was our first Sandals visit and probably won’t be the last. We met lots of repeat visitors to the SRP and can see why. We did get the impression that most people who had visited multiple Sandals would say that the SRP was the best. We had a lovely and very relaxing visit, made possible by the excellent staff. Our Butlers Olivia and Adrian were excellent. They made us feel very spoilt. A real credit to the Sandals brand. Adrian even took us over to the Jamaica Inn to ensure our evening ran smoothly - I thought this was really going the extra mile. The entertainments team of Jason and Rushan were superb. They are both so talented, engaging and fun. They always struck the right balance of encouraging people to join in, but giving space if you did not want to join in. The waiting and beach staff were also excellent by being professional, knowledgeable, fun and enthusiastic, so a special thanks to Kimberlee Sherika Adrian Barbara Nicola Sorry to those we missed off the list. We have been going to Middle East and Indian Ocean for the last few years, so have been spoilt with modern and contemporary hotels. The SRP was a typical Caribbean resort being colonial and colourful. We felt the rooms were OK, but a little dated and small compared with similarly priced hotels in Mauritius or Dubai. The food was very good, but not excellent. Our dinner at The Jamaica Inn was a step up, but it was $150 for 2 courses excluding wine! Le Papillon and The Beach Grill were very good and nothing was too much trouble. I have never eaten so much Lobster. The Robert Mondavi wines (3 white and 3 red) were all good and better than at many All Inclusive resorts. Overall, the resort was small enough to be intimate, but big enough to have all the right facilities. You also had the option to visit the Ochi Beach next door if you wanted something more lively. We did visit, but there was no comparison - the SRP was the perfect balance. I would recommend to anyone. Thank you Sandals

We had an amazing 10 days at Royal Plantation as we always have since 2013! We go back once a year (twice one year.) The staff treats us like family and the food on property is delicious! Our butler, Chase, always exceeds our expectations with surprise treats, towel animals and always a sunny disposition! Due to some dietary restrictions, I often have to alter my order from the way it is written on the menu. The Chef and his staff is wonderful to accommodate. One day at the Royal Grille, I asked our server, Sherika, for a specific salad and wow, it exceeded our expectations! The staff in the Terrace is always so nice and always remember our names. Some standouts are Michael, Sherika and Barbara. Then, the pool butlers, Adrian, Daniello and Romane make our poolside experience lots of fun! The spa is a place you will want to be pampered and the staff there is always wonderful! Other leadership and standouts are Hushane, Clayton, Marvin...Dacia and staff in Loyalty Rewards and most certainly, Julian Pink and Arnold Nugent (GM.) We will definitely be back next year and many to follow!

We have stayed here twice and already booked our 3rd trip. This specific Sandals was our first Sandals trip, and I have heard your first is always your favorite. ROOM - We booked the Grand Duke as it appears to be the lowest category with a WALK OUT patio area, as some have “French door balconies” and we enjoy breakfast sitting outside on the balcony. However, ALL rooms have butlers at this Sandals “boutique” property - only 75 rooms - and I do not think you can go wrong with any room category as they are all listed as “oceanfront”. POOL / BEACH - since all rooms have butlers, they are not permitted to reserve beach or pool chairs. The pool is quite small, but we spent most of our days on the beach and finished with a dip in the pool. The beach butlers are phenomenal and provided beach drink service frequently and were friendly and eager to please. On more than one occasion, they even “fetched” our lunch from the beach grill so we wouldn’t have to leave our spots. We were there in November and the water was a tad rougher for the first several feet, but calm enough after wading in to float around happily. DINING - My only complaint about this property is that by the end of the week, you can feel as though you have been eating the same food (regardless of the restaurant) by the end of the week. Reserve a few dinners at the neighboring Sandals Ochi to break it up. OVERALL - We love this property often referred to the one booked by “the newly wed and nearly dead” ?? for it’s quiet atmosphere, elegant design, and excellent service from each and every staff member. It is hard to go more than 30 minutes at this property without a staff member asking you how you are or asking if you need something. Since every room comes with butler staff, you may not get some of the same butler “perks” as other Sandals resorts, but the constant staff attention more than makes up for it!

We decided to book Royal Plantation due to the size of the hotel, I think it only has 70-80 rooms so service is amazing. This was our first time at a Sandals but we have been to Beaches Ochos Rios with the kids so already knew we loved Jamaica. We had a few issues with our first 2 Butlers, we didn’t know what to expect as never had butler service before and we wouldn’t opt for it but as this resort is all butler suites we had no choice. It soon became apparent our 2 designated butlers were not doing their job at all. I won’t go into too much detail but will just say you have paid for butler service so make sure you get it! Don’t get me wrong we are not at all hard work and don’t expect a lot but it was obvious that our butlers were not doing anything that other butlers were. After a conversation with Hughill one of the butler managers we were assigned 2 new butlers Andre and Sean who were amazing! And from that point on our holiday was perfect. From our favourite drinks in our room to lobster Thermidor and champagne on the beach nothing was too much trouble for these guys. Service in all restaurants was amazing would like to mention especially Winston in the french restaurant, so good at his job and Barbara at breakfast so welcoming every car. Oh and the beautiful Shanice who works in the bar, nothing is too much trouble for her. Food was mostly delicious and except unfortunately the candlelit dinner - I booked this as a surprise for my husbands 40th birthday and I got the impression this wasn’t communicated and unexpected, the lobster was undercooked snd inedible and steak over cooked, the waitress was inexperienced and quite invasive of what should of been a romantic evening. We did get a refund on this but just disappointed as was a special occasion. Grounds and beach stunning, we had the east beach to ourselves mostly for first few days l, the beach servers do an amazing job keeping everyone hydrated especially Romane and Daniello, great guys. The water sports guys keep the beach so clean and tidy working tirelessly raking seaweed each day Not that we saw much seaweed when we were there. Rooms - we had a viceroy honeymoon suite which was cheapest option I believe but a fantastic room with beautiful views, clean tidy large with huge wardrobe luggage space. Bath was a little small with no separate shower but worked well. Room was well stocked each day and housekeeping fantastic. The only thing I think they could improve is entertainment, it’s all very much the same every night and gets a bit repetitive that said you can easily get the shuttle to Ochi beach or hillside where there’s loads on every night. We will definitely return to this beautiful hotel one day.

    Top Notch

Just returned from SRP. This Sandals sets the bar really high. We’ve been to quite a few Sandals resorts (this being our 14th stay with them) and this was hands down the best so far. From the GM to the managers, butlers and the rest of the staff they make you feel at home and the level of service is exceptional! Thank you for the fantastic stay, we wish we did the second week there as well but Sandals MoBay did a nice job as well.
