I booked this resort through Trivago. After booking I called the resort and spoke to Danielle. She confirmed the reservation, confirmed payment in full and that payment included resort fees as there was an option to prepay for those. When we arrived at the resort the lady who checked us in was very nice. She did state she had upgraded us to a king suite which I thought was odd as I had booked a king and had confirmed that when I called. We arrived early and presumed we would have to wait for our room. Our room was ready upon early arrival. The property is undergoing renovations. I was not aware of this until we arrive. We checked into our room and just dropped our bags as we were hungry and had been traveling since 1am. We ate at the resort restaurant. Our service was great and the food was good. We returned to the room and the room smelled awful, like sewage. We went to the store for supplies. The room wasn’t very clean. I always clean before we unpack. When we returned the smell was still in the room. I cleaned and sprayed air freshener hoping the smell was due to construction and we could remedy the issue ourselves. We left again. We returned late and the smell was still there. We still hadn’t unpacked. We went to the front desk. The man who helped us was very nice. He gave us a key to another room. We checked out that room and the bed was broken. So, we went back and a different man helped us. He said he would send engineering to our room. They sent a cleaning lady. Engineering/cleaning lady doesn’t matter; whatever she sprayed helped. Plus, we found if we kept the bathroom door closed that helped. The room floorplan is really nice. Once they renovate the rooms should be nice. The room we had was a king bed with a couch, tv, frig, desk, patio, etc. The bathroom was nice because it was larger than most resort bathrooms, had a double sink and the commode and shower was in a separate room of the bathroom. When I booked the reservations, I thought the room had its own private hot tub spa outside on the patio. Ours did not. The sheets were in poor shape. They were stained and torn. We had a hard time getting cleaning staff to clean our room. We didn’t spend much time in our room. We got up early, 5am, and would not return to late in the day. When we returned the cleaning staff had not cleaned and was gone for the day. Not sure why they skipped us. As I stated they are doing construction. My husband could not sleep. He found the bed uncomfortable and the construction kept him up. The cleaners may go home early but the construction workers work all night. I am a sound sleeper and I slept just fine . The grounds and pool area were nice. I was out early in the spa one morning. One of the crewmembers did startle me. He was dressed all in black, no resort logo or name tag, never spoke or smiled or anything, he came toward me while it was still dark and I was in the hot tub alone. I realized he was cleaning the skimmer and pool area but for a moment I was little uncomfortable. We did not know until we arrived the Resort Spa facility was closed. We came to do hiking and was hoping to book massages, pedicure etc. while we were there. When I booked this vacation, I was looking for a resort that had a spa, hot tub and was smoke free. After a few days about three hundred navy shipmen out of San Diego and their families checked in. At this point the quite resort was quickly transformed into a nightmare. The halls were filled with screaming kids. Drunk, belligerent, hostile shipman. People smoking. It was awful. We spoke with Danielle as we checked out early. We had prepaid and wanted a refund. Danielle agreed. It did take about a month to get a refund. Danielle was great to work with. The delay with the refund was due to me booking with a third party (Trivago). I do feel Danielle went above and beyond to help. This was not the right resort for us. Maybe it will work for you.

The reception staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. The Hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious and it is quiet at night. The on site restaurants are delicious and service is wonderful. As a guest you feel well taken care of. We will be back soon.

How Dare Marriott Call this a Marriott Hotel

I'm sorry Marriott, but how dare you put your name on this hotel. I had a room in building 4 that was one of the one of the worst motel rooms you can imagine that probably hadn't had a makeover in fifteen + years, or so it seemed.. There are a LOT of wonderful and magical hotels in Palm Springs---bigger than this, smaller than this--but if you're looking for a nice wonderful weekend or vacation in Palm Springs, don't come here and stay at the room like I had. I'm attaching a photo of the hallway to give you a sense of how the website photos don't match the magic of Building 4 where my room was. I understand why this hotel undersells price wise other Marriott Hotels in the Palm Springs area including the motels. What this hotel needs is someone to come and spend a nice chunk of change and redo rooms like mine. In the meantime, Marriott should be ashamed to be associated with a hotel that has rooms like this. I would never come back here again until I heard that they weren't going to put guests in old beat up rooms like I had with hallways that had filthy carpets. On the positive side, the check in man was very nice. Rarely do I give one stars but if this claims to be a Marriott Hotel then I have to point out the disappointment you might feel upon checking in and experiencing your room.

When we booked the room, we had read the reviews regarding the property undergoing renovations and were fully prepared for that. The overall stay was fine and the room wasn't terrible but we were disappointed with how the staff responded to a fairly minor issue. First of all, here are the pros of the hotel: Great location Common areas, pool area really nice Free parking Check-in was fast and the gentleman who helped was great! Large selection of tv options including the ability to plug in your own device (Roku) Free wi-fi Large bathtub Close to 7-Eleven (when you need ice, drinks or snacks) Cons Some of the buildings are pretty dated - the carpet and furnishings need to be replaced Building we stayed in wasn't secure - the doors opened regardless if you had a key or not Thin wall - we could hear an entire conversation in our neighbors room To get hot water, you would have to turn the shower and the sinks on and let them run for about 5 minutes - really wasteful Water pressure bad in shower Some of the staff were rude - on Saturday afternoon, around 2:30pm, we wanted to have a drink in our room. We went to the ice machine in our building, but it was out of ice. No big deal - went to the next building over and it was out of ice. A little irritating, but not the end of the world. Went to a third building and no ice there either. Went back to the room and called the front desk to see if we could get room service to drop off some ice (this place charges a Resort Fee of $35/day so didn't think that was a big ask). The front desk lady was a little rude and told us to go to the ice machine on the first floor of our building. We explained that they weren't working and we had tried it at 3 different buildings. She transferred us to room service. We asked room service if we could get some ice brought up - the guy that answered asked someone in the background and she responded with a laugh and said we would have to pay $5 and wait a while. We were told we could also just go to 7-Eleven across the street. They also said they would call maintenance. If we were staying at a motel, I would expect that kind of response. But this place calls itself a "Resort" and customer service should match that. We would've gladly paid the $5 delivery fee for ice, but it was how they responded to the request that disappointed us the most. They can do all the renovations they want and create beautiful rooms, buildings and common areas but if they keep their current staff, I doubt these reviews will get any better.

Not your typical Marriott property ... sorry.

First, let me start by saying I have heard a lot about this hotel as being a "premiere" place to stay in Palm Springs. It is rich with history, has a great location, delightful pool and spa area and the staff are wonderful BUT the facility, especially the rooms, need dire help! We stayed in building 4 and upon our arrival the elevator was broken, the carpets were uneven, the room was not especially cleaned with water that was putrid smelling left in the coffee maker, and amenities were scarce. We had a partial box of tissues and the tiniest of complimentary soaps. Worst of all it is noisy. You can hear everything from the people above you and hallway noise. Oh our disappointment! The best part of the hotel are the fire pit areas and the nice bar area in the front that has room for people to meet, play cards, have a drink, etc. Not what we expected from a place with "resort" in its' name nor of a Marriott property. Sorry, can't recommend until the hotel finishes whatever restorations they seem to be undergoing. Then I would be willing to try again, if for no other reason for the location.
