Disappointing to say the least.

We had a group go to Rita’s Cantina for happy hour / early dinner. Love the atmosphere there, one of the most beautiful places in the valley. The food however at Rita’s was not up to par - nowhere near what I would expect at an upscale resort in Paradise Valley. There were 12 of us and 12 of us were disappointed. Unfortunately we won’t be back.

Pricey for the service received

Ann S (Columbus, Ohio) on Apr 08, 2024

Pros: Beautiful property and well kept grounds-Excellent service from Rita, Johnny, and the server at the pool restaurant from Hawaii. Delicious food and trendy menu options.Quiet and serene Cons: young petite woman with dark hair and glasses at breakfast reception. Needs a course in hospitality 101. Rude, arrogant, dismissive, no personality, blank conversationalist. Not one incident-every encounter for four days. For spending over 1000.00 dollars a night I expect better. Property was overcrowded and no chairs at the pool however several had "reserve. "on them but no one ever showed up. Again- hefty price to pay for the resort if you can't use it! Had just left Starr Pass Resort in Tucson and none of these cons were encountered-superior and what I would expect for the price point.

Dump

This place needs a major renovation. Rooms low ceilings dark not enough lights. Expensive times 2 for what you get!!!! Room service good. Dangerous walking around at night due to no lighting. Marriott is pushing like all employers to force you to use app or website for just about everything (pain in the ass)

Unfulfilled expectations

Joe D on Mar 31, 2024

I was looking forward to visiting this resort. I anticipated it would be "old school" classic and beautiful. There were both pros and cons to the resort. Pros- The grounds were beautiful with numerous fire pits sprinkled throughout the property. They have a newly constructed meeting and convention area which was stunning. Most importantly, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Cons- The rooms were extremely dated, the last renovation must have been twenty plus years ago. The property felt extremely crowded. The common areas were teeming with people at all times. It did not feel exclusive. The worst was the pool. It was tiny and extraordinarily crowded. There was an adult only pool, but they charged an extra $50 to us it. Overall, I cannot recommend the property. They change as if it's an exclusive resort but it falls short in too many important ways.

An Ideal Tranquil Setting.

Room-in-my-suitcase (Ottawa, Canada) on Mar 30, 2024

Attractively perched at the base of Camelback Mountain in Paradise Valley is the JW Marriott Scottsdale Inn Resort & Spa. I was so comfortable in my Resort Casita with stylish furnishings in natural wood, ceramic floors in desert tones, desk, chair and the star amenity; the balcony. The resort is not at a lose for dining and drinking venues. The Lincoln Steak & bar is where to get impeccably grilled steaks as I did, and Rita's Cantina & Bar dishes up Southwestern cuisine. Other spots to refuel include Hoppin' Jacks or the acclaimed spa restaurant: Sprouts. How could I do without a Starbucks... ....I didn't......there's one here. At the JW the 32000 sq. ft. Spa at Camelback Inn focuses on treatments inspired by the desert and ancient traditions. So, if you are seeking peace from the fast pace of modern living ..................then try the. ..........JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa.......an ideal tranquil setting.
