Great Spring Break Destination
McKenna R on Mar 23, 2024
My friends and I went here on our senior year spring break and we could not have asked for a better time. The beach is clean and right on the resort with more than enough beach chairs. The amenities are extremely nice and clean. The only reason it wasn't 5 stars is because the food was a little mediocre, but I didn't expect anything more for it being all inclusive. The Japanese restaurant and the beach grill have the best food at the resort. Another reason it wasn't 5 stars is because the key cards broke consistently and the check in was very disorganized. Other than these things, the resort was beautiful and the drinks were amazing.
Great Vacation

We were two couples that stayed at Iberostar Costa Dorada. Had a great time and would go back. Overall very nice. Food. I usually try to get as many a la carts as I can, but the buffet here was so good I didn't even book my maximum allowed. Also the snack bar with the BBQ lunch beside it, fantastic. Had so many different drinks. Lobby bar lady was great. Beach bar man was great. Definately didn't go hungry. No 24 hour or even late late night food though. Room: Nice room. Had ocean view. Comfortable king size bed. Pillows rather flat but I took most of them, haha. Shower great. Reusable water bottles with fill up on each floor made it easy. I like a cooler room but couldn't seem to control the temperature no matter what we set it to. Entertainment: I liked the entertainment (singers, musicians) in the square. The entertainment in the theatre was not great. Karaoke, dance...goofy guest games. Beach: No fault of hotel, just the area. The only thing that would make me not want come back. Water is dirty looking with all the seaweed, and silt. not inviting at all. roped off not that far out because of undertow. lots of chairs, boche ball, horseshoes, soccer nets... Pool: Very nice pool. Lots of deep areas and shallow for the little ones. I liked watching the water polo game every afternoon. Chairs are packed in and taken (towels on them) before most people would normally get up. So make sure to get up very early to put your towel out. This is common at most resorts. Grounds: Beautiful. Kept very well. We also booked a day long trip for a boat tour to a sand island, snorkeling, cigar rolling, beautiful ocean swimming pool. Had a great time. very Beautiful. Lunch was sooo good. Con was it took over 2 1/2 hours one way by the time people were picked up and dropped off and the cost was $185 US; got it for $145 each US, came to $200 canadian each. $811 for 4 people. too much really. To sum it up. Had a great time eating, relaxing, great drinks and a beautiful place. no cons were deal breakers.
Fun Family Vacation!

This resort is exceptional. Travelled here with my family, 4 adults and 2 kids (ages 10 and 8). It was better than I was anticipating. The grounds are beautiful. Well maintained. So many palm trees and tropical plants around. Peaceful orchid garden. The staff are hardworking, kind and friendly. They genuinely seem to enjoy their jobs. Things we loved: - Morning yoga on the beach. - Food was great with lots of options. - Two of the bars have espresso machines (snack buffet and lobby). Loved having a daily cappuccino or latte. - Fun evening entertainment with a few nights of dancing. - So many people around but never felt crowded. Many areas to enjoy. - Great wifi. No issues anywhere I went. - Beautiful spa, had a relaxing massage and got to use the spa pool area for an hour before. - So many activities for kids and adults. Love how they include the older kids in the pool activities. Since the kids club is kind of too young for my kids. - Kids favourite activities were the water mat and inflatable obstacle course. - Pool is huge. Like 4 pools in 1. Love how the pool is divided in different areas. Things we found not so great: - Not great swimming at the beach. The beach area itself is nice but not the swimming. We just walked down the beach a few minutes and there is great swimming areas. - There is an arcade area however you have to pay for it. Would be fun if this was also included. We had an amazing stay here. I would recommend this resort to my friends and family and wouldn’t hesitate to return to an Iberostar in the future!
An oldie but a goodie!!!

This hotel is one of the older Iberostar resorts but it is very clean, the food is delicious and staff are incredibly friendly. Our Concierge, Veronica was amazing! She really went above and beyond to make our stay a truly enjoyable and memorable experience. She left a beautiful, thoughtful little surprise treat in our room for a birthday we were celebrating! The only downside was we did have some issues with our washroom a few times, but maintenance was quick to fix the issue each time. We did one tour, we chose the pig excursion which was sold as "swimming with pigs". It was a bucket list item of mine. This was not swimming with pigs which was disappointing, but it was a fun day spent feeding and holding pigs. There was also snorkeling and a visit to a natural pool in the Atlantic ocean where we were able to enjoy some drinks from a floating bar! Overall the tour was fun but the 2+ hour bus ride each way was too long and the road was terrible. We had a great time, very relaxing and would definitely consider returning to this resort.
Great All - Inclusive Resort

The staff at this resort is what makes this a 5 star vs a 4 star. Shout out to the sports and entertainment team - particularly Pikachu, Batman, and Super Joe. They really make the trip memorable for us. Pikachu deserves extra recognition as he went out of his way to help my son with special needs. Thank you Pikachu!. Tjere were lots of activities throughout the day including archery, ping pong, chess, darts, bingo, Zumba, tennis, pickle ball, volleyball, basketball, bocce, and dance lessons. You would do as much or as little as you want. Pablo, who ran the court sports was also amazing and cheerful. We learned how to plan pickle ball and even played in a tournament he organized. We used the fitness center a few times and found it adequate for our needs. The nightly entertainment could be improved. They had two singers for Las Vegas night. One was average and the other one was terrible. I saw many people leave the show through the night. The dancers were good and stayed after to dance with guests. Food was very good overall. Sweetest watermelon I have ever had. Loved the fresh juices for breakfast. Lots of variety in the buffet with theme nights. We ate at the Italian and Japanese restaurants and enjoyed them both. For lunch, they cooked on the beach over a large fire and we had paella and shrimps. They had a BBQ with ribs and steaks. Alcohol and drinks plentiful. I loved how they had refillable water bottles and water refill stations and ice machines throughout the resort. Bring your own water bottle. Wifi was consistent throughout the resort! Pool area was nice but sometimes hard to find the lounge chairs but we always seem to be lucky to find one, even in the afternoon after we left the beach when it got too windy down there. There are plenty of lounge chairs at the beach as the beach area is quite spread out. Rooms were cleaned daily. We had a adjoining rooms in block 8 facing the pool and we found it close to everything. Housekeepers would leave nice little decorative flowers over the towels. The shower did not have a curtain so water would get all the bathroom floor. The only minor inconvenience was our rooms weren't ready at 3pm and they made us wait until 4pm. They offered us a concierge but we didn't use her as we found it easy to use the app to book our dinner reservations. We meet a few guests who are repeat customers and I can see why. We would love to return back. Thank you Iberostar and especially Pikachu - you can give him a raise!
