My wife and I had a great time. The staff was amazing. Johanna and Berenice especially made our trip. We looked forward to seeing them daily and they made us feel at home. Beautiful people with the most amazing culture and food. Highly recommend trying Chinola and Sakura. Can't wait to come back

You need to make sure you ask for Victor (Butler) and Rodolfo (Valet) to make sure you have an outstanding experience. We would do it again. The water park is fun as well. The food and service were good as well. The resort is well-maintained and very clean.
Wonderful Stay, Perfect Place for us

Lovely place. The facilities were modern and very well kept as were the grounds. There are quite a few restaurants with a large variety of food and it was great quality food. We tried all but 2 of the restaurant during our 10 day stay. Pools lovely and kept really clean, the poolside drinks service was excellent - in particlaur Amairy Nolasco was superb! very attentive and very fast! The water park was really good fun with plenty of lifeguards about for those with children (we were just adults). All the staff were very friendly and very helpful. Cannot say enough good things about this resort, will come back for sure

Adults Enclave option in the hotel was excellent and well worth the extra. The staff at the Enclave Adults pool bar are worthy of extra mention, Mildred, Olga, Evelyn and of course Jose were fantastic and made our stay even more special .......thank you
We’re already thinking about when we can go back

This was the first adults-only all-inclusive stay at a Hilton property for me and my wife, and we’re already thinking about when we can go back. We’re diamond members, and we booked an enclave level suite for our five days at La Romana. Upon arrival at around 6pm we were warmly greeted, taken to the lounge for a drink to get us setup, and upgraded to an ocean view room with butler service. We were asked to meet with our butler the following morning at 11am, but he missed us and was tied up with another guest. He did manage to find us and introduce himself and tell us about what he can help us with. The room we had was great. The photos on Hilton’s site very accurately portrayed the room which had tons of space and was extremely clean, as was the entire property. The one odd thing I found in the room was the toilet in the main bathroom. The toilet is located by itself in a little room with a door which separates it from the rest of the bathroom. That’s fine, but what’s odd is that the door opens into this tiny room, so to use the toilet, you have to awkwardly step in and around the toilet, close the door, and then go about your business. I’m not sure why the door doesn’t open outward, but it is what it is. The jacuzzi tub and shower without walls were also great. The other issue I had was with the bed pillows. I’m not a fan of huge, puffy pillows, so I texted our butler to see if they had something more firm, and was pleasantly greeted the next day with firmer proper pillows. The mini fridge was replenished daily, and different chocolates greeted us each evening. A welcome bottle of wine also appeared one night. One small negative to our suite were a couple of uninvited guests on our first two nights in the form of a large grasshopper and beetle. Fortunately neither put up a fight, and I gently escorted them back outside. Those were the only bugs we encountered during our stay, in the hotel or outside. If you’re looking for a negative about our stay, the biggest issues were the noises coming from two sources. The first source, which happened on our first two nights there, came from our building’s fire alarm, which would randomly go off for hours throughout the night, and every once in a while during the day. We assumed the front desk was aware of it, but when we called once to report it, the front desk seemed surprised by it. After the second night we told our butler about it, who seemed to know it was going on and said it was being worked on. This turned out to be true, as we saw maintenance going room to room, inspecting the detectors, and after that night there were no more false alarms. The second source of noise came from the club which seems to run from 11p-2a. When club time starts, all you can hear when you're trying to sleep is the constant dull base thumping, which baffled us since this resort does not seem to attract the club-going crowd that you’d see in Punta Cana. I ended up using a white noise app on my phone to help sleep through it. If I could recommend a change to Hilton it would be to get rid of the club, have it end by midnight, or move it somewhere where it doesn’t bother the guests. We spent most of our time at the pools and beach soaking up the amazing weather. The infinity pool was great, and the enclave pool is also great, just a smaller, more exclusive version of the larger infinity pool. Both have swim-up bars and plenty of seating. We booked a cabana for a couple of days and loved it. Our butler brought us a cooler with beer and bottled water, as well as an occasional special drink. We found the pool water to be quite cold, and a little heating would’ve been welcomed. The beach is very nice with great views. The sand was well maintained and very soft, in contrast to a different report we stayed at in Cap Cana. Drink service at both the beach and pool was attentive. Unfortunately the beach itself isn’t very large, and to get into the water you have to navigate up or down a small, steep area. For a better beach experience head to the Turks and Caicos. Housekeeping never disturbed us once, and seemed to know when we were out of the room. They did a very good job cleaning and tidying up, and we never needed to ask them for anything. They also gave us turndown service (never running into us) with chocolates each night The spa was awesome. We had a couples massage on the beach and it was fantastic. The sounds of the waves and birds were so relaxing it almost seemed unreal. Then afterwards we relaxed in the spa’s outdoor jacuzzi with some champagne. We would definitely do it again. Since La Romana is an all-inclusive, we decided to get room service for breakfast each day, which was very relaxing eating outside on our room’s lanai. Service was prompt and professional. Each time we got room service, it was followed up with a call about a half an hour later asking how it was. The nightly entertainment shows are what I would best describe as cute. Think high school production quality. Dancing and lip synching to wherever the theme was that night. I would much prefer to see Hilton hire a few local professional musicians to play live music throughout the resort in the evenings, especially in the evening around the pools or restaurants. One night we did the rum and chocolate tasting which was fun, but it got pretty crowded, and it was sometimes hard to hear and understand the host. Overall the food and drinks were quite good. The enclave lounge and bars have very good drinks (better than the pool bars) and we didn’t have any issues with the food, and by no means were ever left hungry. There’s a lot of variety to be found in the different dining areas as well. We ate on the family side from time to time, but never saw or heard activity from the water park. Same for the casino. We brought a lot of $1 and $5 bills to tip which seemed to be welcomed by all. There are three or four stores to shop at in the resort, with plenty of selection and things to bring back home. We didn’t venture off property, so there may be other options in terms of shopping that we didn’t discover. Having a butler was nice as he was only a text away, and never failed to respond to us. He was attentive but never intrusive. He also helped with getting a late checkout for us, and confirming our transportation back to the airport on our last day, which we booked through Hilton, who currently uses Transekur. All said, this was our favorite all-inclusive so far and we’ll definitely return, doing the spa, cabana, and an excursion next time.
