You can definitely find a nicer room than the one that we got here somewhere else. (It was still a very nice room)The setting is gorgeous, but so is anywhere along these beautiful beaches of the Cancun area. I doubt you’ll be able to find the kind of service that is offered here though. Everyone has been incredibly kind and helpful. Especially Alexis at the gourmet pub. He single-handedly made me and my wife’s night the last night we’re gonna be staying here. We will definitely be coming back.

We have been coming to the resort every year since 2008 including a stay last August when the resort was very empty. . We obviously love the resort and that is why we return every year. The staff is the main reason we return, but in addition to the amazing staff, the food is out of this world. Many "all-inclusives" are largely buffets, but not here. You have your choice of cuisine from around the world. There is something for everyone. If you have food allergies or sensitivities, this is the place for you. The beds are heavenly, the rooms are spacious and well equipped. We love the lush vegetation on the Palms side and if you want more contemporary decor you can opt for the Infinity side. Our trip was 14 days and I could have stayed for 14 more. I would like to give my high praise to some of the staff who made our stay very special and while all the staff are good, these folks are extremely good Our Butlers, Anna and Ivan. We call these two the “Dream Team” because they are simply the best. I hope you treat them well because they are one of the main reasons we return to Palm/EDSS every year. We’d love to see Rosy brought back on staff when you are able to hire more. We also appreciated limiting the butlers to two with a back-up because it is hard to tip 3 or 4 butlers. The Beach Butlers Manual and Tomas. Every day they provide excellent service and work very hard for all the guests. We purchased a bali bed package for my daughter’s birthday and so appreciate they way they made her entire day special. The Beach Servers: Lizbeth, Regina, Jaquina, Luisa, Carina and Suemy made sure we were hydrated and always with a smile and kind words. Raul who made sure that towels were always available on the beach. Not only is he a hard worker, but he always said good morning and throughout the day had a great attitude and wonderful smile. He’s a keeper! Housekeeping – Maribel was our housekeeper and her towel art was amazing. We always had everything we needed. Enrique the pool person was great as well as the grounds keepers who swept up the falling palm leaves each day. Room service – Wilberth, Manuel, Salvador, and a few who I did not get their names. Always on time and correct orders. A few restaurant staff were outstanding: Mateo at the Culinarium; Rubisel at our candlelight beach dinner & Raul our server, Elana at Kaly Tlay and of course, Lorenzo at Driftwood and Abraham at the Sandwicheria. It was so good to see them again. The Entertainment just great this year! –Erik, Juan and Jackie are wonderful and we were thrilled to see Gabo again, who was stationed at Hidden Beach. Cynthia at the Spa is fantastic. All the staff at the spa are great, but Cynthia stands out. At Vacuatics, Alberto and Diego are the best representatives you could have. Not only do they work hard to make sure guests purchase excursions that fit they type of activities they want. The Catamaran trip was great as were the crew of the catamaran: Charly, Luis, Armando. I highly recommend it!

Let me just say wow. One of the best experiences we had in Mexico. The customer service here is fantastic. Our servers Abram, Sue, Daniel, Yobani, Alexis and many others such great care of us and were very friendly. Tomas Bali bed attendant was so great. He always made sure we had everything we needed from extra towels to a great spot on the beach. He always went the extra mile. Food was amazing I was shocked usually with all exclusive the food isn't good but here was great. Only thing that was a downside was we stayed at the beach rooms and some nights the music from the bar was very load mostly on weekends. Also the excursion guy Alberto from Lomas travel was a pain. He never told us the cancelation policy for the excursion we booked and had to reschedule and eventually cancel due to my fiancee not feeling well enough to going on a 8 hour excursion. He was supposed to give us a credit for the excursion before we left and never showed up. Stay away from those guys they will do whatever to not give you a refund. Still giving the hotel a great rating due to the excursion issue was with a separate company.

First off, the good parts. The staff (except for one older guy at the front desk) are terrific. They really try to be helpful and are very friendly. And the rooms are clean with very comfortable bedding. And I had a wonderful massage, thanks to Rosario. Now, the rest. We stayed here about 20 years ago when it had maybe 100 rooms. It was a sweet. low-lying resort between the jungle and the sea. It had great ocean views from the hammock on our ground floor patio. Good food, fun bartenders, towel animals and flowers on the bed each day. Lounging iguanas and singing tropical birds. Champagne in our room on arrival. It was lovely. Unfortunately, the resort has grown to more than 600 rooms - adding a high rise (the "Suites" building) along with a walled off nudist resort between the Palms and Suites. Many mismatched buildings scattered about. I know the area has grown but the execution here is not good. We chose to stay on the older "Palms" side (versus the "Suites" up the beach a ways) hoping it would be similar to our last visit. It wasn't. Nearly every inch of the beach is covered with cabana beds, blocking the ocean views from ground floor rooms and the pools. And a two story wooden fort monstrosity used for massages sat right in what should have been our ocean view. The cabana beds are great but the numbers sacrifice the views. The bartenders are so rushed (even at Covid-reduced hotel capacity) that they can't take time to engage and make fun drinks. The food is mostly "meh" - mass produced like cruise food. Nothing special in the rooms after housekeeping has been there (they seem stretched like the bartenders). No more hammocks on the patio. It's really sad that they went with quantity of rooms over quality of the resort.
