Really disappointed with the rooms and facilities not enough to be a grand Hyatt. great location anyway next to union square and Powell street. Good for shopping but to expensive for the quality of the facilities.

Whether you are a tourist, a business person, or visiting old friends the Grand Hyatt is an awesome hotel with an amazingly central location. It's located next to Union Square and everything within the city is accessible with a Lyft or Uber or you can venture onto the public transit. It's a busy, loud area of the city, but you're able to walk out the front door and get all the shopping done! The front doormen and doorwomen provide assistance from street to front desk. Security is great - no issues there.

Finally stayed at the Grand Hyatt, was completely satisfied. 40 years after my grandparents first took me there to visit the classic lobby and ride the elevators, my wife and I stayed last night after seeing a show in the City. The Lobby is simply one of a kind and a design treasure (although my wife and I both commented on the geometric patterns causing us a bit of disorientation as we walked about). Our room was incredibly spacious for a SF hotel, view of the Bay from our patio (we requested room w/ a Bay view and were obliged). Completely satisfied with our stay, looking for excuses to return.

I started at the Grand Hyatt SF for 6 nights for business. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. I was on the 11th floor with two double beds. The room was okay, I expected more. My main complaint, not enough lighting. Floor to ceiling windows added great natural light during the day. But when I needed to get work done in the evenings, I was stuck on my bed using the lamps (no bueno!)! Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was fine. The gym was great-- 5 or 6 treadmills, a few bikes, a couple of ellipticals, leg press, chest press, a couple of benches, and decent amount of weights. Yes, I was impressed! Of course the view was awesome. No spa. :-( No steam room! :-( Room service-- mehhh.. not impressed. My food arrived cold! I dined at the restaurant. Mehh.. .service was good. But the food, over priced and not worth it (dessert and glass of wine-- $35!). Best part of the hotel is the location. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

Great for families who want central access to the east side of San Fran which includes Fisherman's Wharf, Exploratorium, Kids Creativity Museum, China Town, Nob Hill, Cable Car stations, and plenty of restaurants. The breakfast buffet is great and if you need something on the go the bistro has great grab and go selections for everyone. Parents will find a great lounge and bar on the Mezzanine.
