My first time traveling alone and this was the perfect place! The resort was calm and clean. The staff here are wonderful! I’m an American, so even if you lack the Spanish language they speak English very well. I stayed in the premium building. Premium is more private and quiet. They accommodate to all of your needs. You will never become bored as there are scheduled activities throughout the day. I learned how to Salsa! The excursions offered through the resort are breathtaking. That too should take up some time if you want to adventure off the resort. Overall, I felt safe and comfortable especially traveling solo. I recommend 100%

    Loved it!

We loved this experience here. It's a beautiful resort. We went during the rainy season and saw very little rain--just 1 brief thunderstorm and a few rumbles in the afternoons. Our room was on the premium side -which we loved because it was quieter and less crowded. We think the resort could slightly improve the food--it was okay and very authentic though. It was just a lovely resort and we hated to leave.

Pros - 1)Beauty salon is the BOMB! cheap and quick! 2) Best tour guide is inside this hotel! 3) They have a JUICE BAR which was my favorite lol 4) Easy to find ganja for my smokers lol 5) Everyone is super nice all the time! Cons- 1) You can hear a lot of noise from inside the room. 2) Food is standard..I am vegan so didn't have a lot of choices. Your standard rice and beans all day long can get boring. 3) Drinks seemed watered down and had a funny taste. 4) Didn't have a lot of activities going on. 4) Music sucked ..a lot of old school music the whole 5 days being there, which I love don't get me wrong but not when you are trying to turn up lol 5) smoking is banned pretty much ..Which is ok with me but my friends had to go on the beach or out in the front by the road of the resort to smoke. 6) They were still remodeling when I went so the main middle area was blocked off. 7) Hot water went out the first 2 days of being there. 8) Make sure you don't go during raining season. It rained a lot the first 2 to 3 days ..Didn't really get to enjoy the outside of the resort like we wanted to.

We stayed during "rainy season" for three nights at Fiesta Resort. I was worried about the weather but it turned out just fine for October. Plan your activities in the morning and early afternoon if you can during this season. We stayed in a premium room with an ocean view. We are glad we stayed in premium because part of the main pool area was under construction and the main pool was much more crowded. Also the majority of the Americans we met there were staying in the premium area. There are few Americans there, the resort is mostly locals. The Americans do tend to find each other, and it was fun to connect with them. We also enjoyed the local culture and especially watching them salsa dance! Everyone was so friendly! Breakfast at the Calypso (The only breakfast option) was not very tasty and the lines were long. Book your dinner reservations ahead... the dinners in the reserved areas were amazing! We had a bacon wrapped sea bass, beef tenderloin, and a chicken dish which were all very good! The wine at dinner was also better than what was served at the bar. The service wherever we went was very nice. Our room was nice enough, nothing really special about it other than the view. We had no desire to be on the beach there, with the river feeding into it close by the water is murky. The beach area surrounding the resort it is not safe but luckily there are security guards keeping an eye on things. We booked an excursion with the tour group at the end of the pier which I would highly recommend. We saw monkeys (actually they sat on our shoulders), crocodiles in Tarcoles, and stopped at Ti-Ko restaurant which had an amazing view of Carara National Park. On our tour we went ATVing (The others in our group went zip lining) and we had an amazing time! We saw another beach (more near jaco) and the water there was much nicer. There was a scary moment when our ATV got stuck in mud but other than that enjoyed the views immensely. If you are planning a visit to Costa Rica I would recommend breaking up your trip and staying in at least two different resorts just so you can experience different areas of the country. We stayed in La Fortuna the first half of our trip and thoroughly enjoyed the rain forest and volcano. We booked a rental car and were just fine getting around.
