Frank at the main lobby is the best. He is the definition of friendly and service. Always a friendly face that is a joy to be around. I highly recommend spending your time with this quality individual. He makes the resort a top notch place. We need more people like Frank!

Where do we begin! This is our first time posting a review, so we will start with that my husband and I had such a wonderful time that we're already planning on returning for my birthday in a few months! We were in search for a nice getaway to celebrate my husband’s birthday with good food, wine, spa and sun, all within a short flight from Miami. We usually go to DR but wanted to try something different and with no kids. Well, we got more than what we expected! Our suite was fabulous, I had the best sleep here and to my fellow light sleepers concerned about the planes passing by, we didn’t hear anything inside. The staff were so friendly and attentive, they go above and beyond. My husband jokes at how I observe everything but even he noticed how polite and attentive staff and management were. We had many great conversations, and in listening to their stories, we felt their passion for their work, the island and their guests. The entertainers too, they’re so talented and we saw them perform at one of their shows on Friday night at the casino across the street. The village is also a quaint area with nice shops, pharmacy Too many to name but I think they should all be recognized, applauded, standing ovation for all they do, especially housekeeping, restaurants and bar staff. The food. We go to many restaurants at home and enjoy fine dining wherever we travel to, and although we came in with no expectations for an all-inclusive, we were pleasantly surprised at how well presented and flavorful the cuisine at Azul was. For an all-inclusive, I would say it’s above average, service too was excellent. Breakfast at Azul was good too. We did go to Maho Cafe which was nearby at the family resort and for lunch at Palms Grill which was nice to see the planes land near the airport (we would stop our conversation to watch them go by, it never got old for us). Edge pool was our favorite spot as it was quiet and at the tip of the bay - panoramic views and the sunsets were amazing! There is another pool too that was closer to the other resort and the pool service was great. Although we did venture out and explored the island, some of our favorite moments were definitely at the resort. We highly recommend the resort to all. Thank every one for making our stay wonderful. It was just what we needed, and more. See you in a couple of months! Mike and Christine

We have stayed twice at this resort and every visit has been amazing! The views are gorgeous, food choices wonderful, drinks delicious and rooms perfect. Each time our butler was exactly what we hoped for...friendly, informative, checking on us throughout the day, helping us with taxi service, dinner reservations, even stopping by our table to make sure our meal was good. We love the entertainment and classes. The salsa class was so much fun we still talk about it. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping did a great job keeping our room clean. Bartenders went out of their way to make a special purple drink for me. Many of the staff went though so much devastation when Irma hit as did the resort. Take time to talk to them and hear their story. Some of them might even become a new friend. We are heading back to stay for a week in May and cannot wait! Sonesta Ocean Point is our favorite vacation resort!!!

My wife and I stayed here end of March, beginning of April last year. We were booked with the main resort, but were given a free upgrade to the adult only. Pros - food at the Azul Restaurant was very good. Was a great view right on the edge of the cliff by the water. We were one of the last couples to get the Candlelit dinner for free, think it’s $100 now but it’s worth the money. I’d pay it when we go back. Breakfast at Azul in the morning was good but limited options, lunch not so much. You are best to go with the pizza at lunchtime. The casino across the street was awesome, only really open for table games at night, and there are bars within walking distance if you’d like to leave the resort. Cons - lunch buffet. Also the pool at the main side was big, but not a lot of chairs around it. We spent most our time at the cove near the Azul restaurant. If you don’t like airplanes, don’t come here. We love them, so it didn’t bother us, they come in afternoon a lot. They are fun to watch if you ask me. We will be back in the future.

This was the perfect vacation spot for my husband and I. However, you should book the restaurants ahead of arriving at the resort as they book up quickly. It you are looking for alot of entertainment by the pools, this is not the place for you.
