Our first trip to Cuba. We decided to try a resort none of our friends had been to. It was smaller which we very much enjoyed. The staff here are lovely our morning waitress was always with a big smile waving out the window as we approached in the morning. Mirielys at the counter was a breath of fresh air from the time she checked us in until we left I will look forward to seeing her again. Close to get to attractions shopping and town or the market. We will definitely be back in the future to this title gem of a resort. We stayed I. Renovated room 310 Vince and Tammy Deurbrouck

    Pros and cons, fun week.

I visited with my daughter Sept 25-Oct 2. Pros - beach is gorgeous. Lots of beach chairs, lots of shade. Rooms are basic, but very clean. The cleaning staff does a great job. Marielys and Yoly at the front desk are wonderful. Always helpful, always smiling. The pool bar was fantastic. The bartenders are very attentive and so much fun. There are always lots of pool chairs and shade. My daughter and I loved the magic show on Saturday night. We took the catamaran excursion and loved every minute. The coffee bar, oh my goodness... the very best cappuccino. Maria is lovely. The fries at the pool snack bar were great and the lunch buffet at the beach restaurant was incredible. Grilled chicken and pork chops were absolutely delicious. The main buffet selection was small, but we were never hungry. Cons - the day after we arrived, a group of about 200 teenagers arrived. They were rude, ignorant and very messy. They left cups all over the pool area. The main buffet area has no air conditioning. There aren't even any a/c units, so I know it's not broken. It's non existent. The pool. If I had written this review on the first day, the pool would have been one of the pros as it was crystal clear. However, as the week went on, it got considerably more cloudy and green. By Tuesday morning, there was slimy green algae on top of the water. They cleaned it up a bit, we were able to go back in around noon. On Wednesday, it was even worse. Unswimmable until after 2pm. And even then, it was cloudy and green. Overall, we had an amazing week. Thank you Arenas Doradas for making my daughter's first visit to Cuba a memorable one.

I just returned from a fabulous week at Roc Arenas Doradas. I have been to this wonderful resort many, many times. Why would I go anywhere else? This was a special week arranged for Repeat Guests. We got the chance to meet other guests who feel the same way about the resort! The staff recognize and welcome those people who return time and time again. The resort is one of the smaller ones so you get to know the staff and they get to know you! I am looking forward to my next visit!

I went there mid September for Repeater's week where they had special activities. It was my 12th visit there, and not my last. Why do I keep going back? The biggest reason is probably the staff and the ambiance. ROOM: Nice rooms, we stayed in a suite and the mattresses were comfy, housekeeping was great thanks to Liuver who took care to do that little extra. FOOD: We ate at the buffet, the Italian à la carte and the Natura à la carte and snack bar. Great food overall, and the Italian has that little salad bar I just love. At the buffet there was always something I enjoyed, sometimes too much so I rarely was still hungry for dessert, service is quick. Snack bar has great sandwich with egg and ham and the best fries. As for service, in all of the places, fast and professional. COFFEE BAR: I think they make it from heaven, plenty of different coffee choices. Thanks Maria and Niurys LOBBY BAR: There is a different drink of the day each day, my favourite was the Mojito, no wait, the Margarita, no wait, the Cuba Libre... The staff is quick and dynamic. Great area to sit and chat, relax. Sometimes there is a lady playing piano. DISCO: It's a great area, sadly way under-utilized. It has a big dancefloor, good music and great bar, Daniel and Andy take your order once and remember it the next day. We went a few times and had a blast. BEACH BAR: Cute little bar steps from the beach with smiling staff taking care of you, thanks Eduardo for the vitamina ;) BEACH: it's a nice beach, lots of palapas, you can take out kayaks and pedal boats. POOL: Pool is where I usually hang out, there is a little bar where you can sit and also a swim-up bar. Great service there too. Last week though I think there was a big of a shortage of chlorine, but it wasn't too bad. Plenty of chairs around the pool, but you have to get there early to get one with shade or a palapas/umbrella thing. Daysi and Raulito thank you for the drinks. ANIMATION & ENTERTAINMENT: We saw a few shows at night, the audience participation once was the funniest. Then there are games around the pool where you can win a bottle of rum. Special activities: Since I was there for repeater's week, we had special dinners, shows, t-shirts and a show. It's nice to see how much they appreciate you and Yuya, one of the staff said it well, it's a family. The grounds are well kept, and with each visit I see that they improve things here and there, like new cushions in the lobby bar, new tables and chairs, etc. If there is one thing that I can say I didn't like as much and it's not really about the resort, but more about the people. Some don't pick up after themselves and some people don't care to respect the non-smoking signs, and it's not really enforced at the pool bar. I get it, you don't want to tell customers not to smoke in the non-smoking areas. It's hard to mention everyone, but our experience, from checkin to checkout was great. The staff say hi, smile, that includes groundskeepers, housekeeping staff, food servers, everybody. I will go back again.

This was my first time in Cuba and the people at the hotel were very nice. A special mention goes out to Yanisledy. She worked at the front desk and was really helpful. My room was really nice and had a balcony. The staff who cleaned my room was very nice and efficient. Thank you to Marleny, she was really pleasant and helpful . The food at the main buffet restaurant was nice. I really enjoyed the breakfast and the coffee. I highly recommend having the coffee. The best part of this hotel was the beach!! It was so beautiful, clean and peaceful. There is a bar and a restaurant right next to the beach. It was a very relaxing trip and I’m so glad I chose this hotel.
