CHECKING IN: I checked into the Golden Parnassus on 14 March 2024. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a member of staff and offered a drink while I waited to check-in (which only took around 10mins) I was then taken to my room (501) which was overlooking the lagoon. ROOM: The room wasn't very big, but it was definitely big enough for two. The room had two double beds, a dresser with a seat, a small round table with two chairs, a closet with hangers & an iron. The bathroom was nice with a shower and a large sink area and a huge mirror. It had a very spacious terrace with 2 chairs and a small table. LOUNG AREA: The lounge area was huge and had three gift shops and the main restaurant where breakfast and lunch are served. There is also a small bar where you can enjoy cocktails and beers. POOL AREA: The pool area was absolutely stunning, with only a few steps separating the beach. The pool was rather large and had a cocktail bar right beside it and a jacuzzi overlooking the beach & sea. THE INSIDE STAFF: Every member of staff I encountered was polite, always happy to see me, and always greeted me with a smile. I was especially impressed with the cleaning team as they were always helpful when I needed fresh towels and extra bottles of water. THE POOL AREA STAFF: The pool area staff were truly amazing! They are so full of energy and always have plenty of jokes to tell. The guys at the cocktail bar are so friendly and welcoming too. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would most definitely recommend staying here. Would I return again? YES!!!

3 night stay. Overall condition of property run down, water leaks everywhere. Sound carries in lobby (LOUD) and can hear coming through room doors. Check in okay some confusion about environmental tax- thought it was USD amount and not Pesos, auth.pending on CC app cleared that up next day. Phone jack was burnt fire hazard literally seen sparks coming out of wall jack-reported to front desk, no room service b/c no phone, no fridge, pillows hard, mattress was dirty, sheets were dingy, bathroom smelled of mold and sewer, had to ask for towels. Pool & breakfast wait staff were great, food okay (breakfast was only highlight) during lunch we sat in buffet patio by windows that had view of pool - waiter was staring @ pool dancers very creepy and standing in immediate area of our table to stare at dancers - it felt awkward and uncomfortable. Only thing great about resort is beach & some wait staff, other than that we will NEVER stay here again.

Me and my wife have stayed two weeks at this resort and I can say we were very disappointed Don’t be fooled by the impressive photos they show The building itself is very old and has a lot of maintenance issues power cuts, tv not working air conditioning switching off at night plug sockets loose etc Pros Great view from the ocean view room Friendly housekeeping staff. Cons Poor air conditioning throughout the hotel Very overpriced goods in the on-site shops No fridge in the room (additional $10 USD per day) food in the restaurants is very average Pool area and bar closed for private parties Without any notice what so ever Buffet restaurant closed without any notice Watered down drinks (lots of ice in every drink) Poor English speaking even with the reception staff We will not be returning to this hotel
Not a good stay, poor service.

We had a lot of problems during our stay in this hotel. First of all they didn’t give us the room we booked. We booked a room with lagoon view, according the travel site provider. The room we got was a different story. We didn’t have any view at all. It was a room in the third floor and the view wasn’t the view we could see in room preview on website when booked package. Moreover the room had a distinctive scent of mould. Of course we couldn’t spend the night in this room. We explained to the reception the mould issue and asked another room. The hotel was fully booked and they provided temporary a room to spend the night. The next day we talked with manager about the room selection problem. Manager admitted website was confusing and didn’t provide the actual details for each room. But this is not my problem. I believe confusion happened deliberately attract visitors to book in this hotel. Finally we paid extra money and upgrade to “sea view room”. Unfortunately we had already spent two days from our holidays to sort out issue. This wasn’t nice. The hotel is old and needs renovation. In several places the roof was leaking water and staff added backets to collect the water. Also sleep quality wasn’t very nice. There were some nights with shows, who local musicians played music until 23:00hrs. You could hear the music too loud inside the room. This is not something you want after a big day traveling around Mexico. I would rather sleep quiet and take rest. The staff at the reception wasn’t very kind and helpful. They couldn’t even speak English. This is not acceptable when hotel has 90% English speaker customer. On the positive side is the service and kindness of restaurant staff. The were always helpful and kind. Also the food was very tasty and all the ingredients fresh.
