Occidental Tucancun

My husband and I stayed 7 nights here in February. I will add that this our fourth time here in a year. We absolutely love this resort! What makes this resort stand out is the exceptional service! The resort is very well maintained and all safety precautions are taken. The beach is amazing! The food is wonderful! The employees treat you like family and call you by name! I would like to name a few employees that have made our experience here memorable: Jose Luis Ramone, called before we arrived to see what we would need or if we were celebrating anything while visiting. He was there for any needs we had/ questions. Our bartenders never leave your drink empty! Roque, Pablo and Max! Great mixologists! Our servers always remember what we drink with meals and are always happy! Dalida, Jose Luis Perez, Omar, Vincente and Cesar! I must say that Dalida Perez really goes above and beyond! Job well done by all! The manager of food and drink, William, made sure my husbands favorite vodka was stocked at every bar! Obdulia Zamudio, restaurant captain, made sure all restaurants, meals and staff were in order! All our housekeepers were amazing too! Our room was always clean! Most importantly, Sabino Huervo, security, the man that is in charge of our safety is phenomenal! He is the first to greet you once you arrive and the first to see you off when departing. I feel very safe knowing Mr. Huervo is overseeing the security of the guests and the resort! I look forward to returning soon!

Wonderful staff and service. Pablo at the bar lounge station was wonderful and super friendly. Drinks where excellent!! Will definitely be back because of Pablo! Went above and beyond to make sure our drinks where to our expectations!

We just returned from 16 sunny days at the Occidental Tucancun. Overall our visit was extremely relaxing and enjoyable. The customer service aspect was definitely 5 stars!! So many lovely people worked hard to make our visit wonderful. We want to give a special shout out to some great people! We love, love, love Rosie Aguilar, Ana Madigal and Dalidia Perez they have become like family!! They were always going a step above!! Abdulah and Frida always had a warm-welcoming smile to greet us at the restaurants. William, one of the managers was very gracious and always attentive to our needs. Vanessa and Stephanie made “pool time” fun! I also want to thank the lifeguard, Abraham for addressing my injuries after I missed a step heading to the pool. Thank you to all the staff. You ALL do a fantastic job!!! With the COVID-19 pandemic, the staff was very good with cleaning, disinfecting and checking temperatures. We felt safe. I recommend that you have your COVID-19 test done off the property. It is so expensive on-site. The food at the restaurants was a hit or miss. The menu can get a bit boring. We found room service to be pretty good and quick. The staff did prepare some of our food requests and we really appreciated the effort! There are 3 pools all on the small side but, never had a problem finding a lounge chair. The hotel was never more than 30% full so at a higher capacity it may be a problem. The beach and views are breathtaking!! The location is very convenient and walkable to shopping, food and entertainment. Also, the city bus runs basically all the time and is a great inexpensive way to get around town. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The furniture and window coverings are in desperate need of updating. All in all we had a great visit and look forward to returning soon!

vacation was very fun a lot of activity we got to do thanks to vannesa,stephanie. we got to play volleyball they interacted with all of us and even remembered all our names, they were very nice and fun. the desert was very good!!

We tried this resort in October, 2020 and it was awesome, so we returned for a quick trip in February and were overall disappointed compared to our first visit. The food and drink quality went down. Staff members were attentive and responsive to our needs and questions. The resort is safe and clean. Night entertainment was minimal and not of good quality. I will be trying a different resort next time as I did not find it to be worth the money on my 2nd trip. Also, you will get repeatedly asked and pressured to go to their timeshare presentations and it gets annoying.
