It was a beautiful, clean hotel! The staff was very friendly and helpful! We would definitely stay there again! The only thing that we didn’t like, was there were no lights on the outside patio. I loved that we could watch the sunrise and the sunset. We were right next door to Whaler’s Village too, which was super convenient!

Nice place, but unfortunately coronavirus fears got the better of us and we bailed after just one night. Son wasn't feeling great and didn't want to get caught in an airline shutdown, which a week ago seemed overly cautious, but now major carriers are scaling back routes or even halting service completely. Lovely hotel, but the place was pretty empty because of tourists like me who felt they should get home rather than enjoy paradise. Hotel seemed understanding about an early departure, but remains to be seen how the billing will work out. Great rooms, nice property. Some reviewers have mentioned the construction. It was going on poolside, but didn't detract from my brief stay. Didn't find a lot of on-property restaurants. Coffeeshop doesn't serve lattes, just coffee. There is the Whaler's Mall right next door with a variety of dining options from cheap and casual to higher-end. Mall next door also has a ABC store. If you're a tourist visiting Hawaii, ABC Stores are your friend: great merchandise, reasonable prices, fresh food available for takeout along with realistically priced beer (minibar card in the room said $8.00 for a can of beer, it was $2.00 at ABC!) You won't find a jillion sizes of Tylenol, but if you need a pack, you'll be set. Also lots of reasonably-priced shirts and souvenirs. Parking, like most Hawaii hotels, is a complete ripoff at about $30 a night. Tack on a $34 resort fee and those numbers add up pretty quickly. I checked on the cost of a taxi from the airport to the Westin and it's about $80. I mention it in case you want to factor in whether you should rent a car or consider Uber. Ultimately the answer depends on what kind of a traveler you are and how many days you'll be at the resort (and whether you want to get out to see the rest of Maui.) All in all a nice property and definitely will head back for two reasons: Our early departure was handled with such dignity, grace, concern and compassion that I really want to give the hotel my business again. (Customer service isn't about when things go well; it's when they go horribly wrong under trying circumstances.) And it's also a nice property with comfortable rooms where I could see myself relaxing.

Got here on the 16th. All is good. By Thursday morning the Governor has everything shut down for the Coronavirus. No Whale watch boats moving, bar stools gone, no Buffet going on. Make do. Bar is open! All in all, Westin took care of us. Making our own fun. Fly out Friday

    Nice hotel

There was construction going on in the pool area. A little noisy. Location was great. Very comfortable rooms, very clean. Staff was very nice. Breakfast buffet was awesome, but very expensive. Hotel shuttle was great. Took us several places.

    Nope.

Ok, if you don't have a kid or really enjoy drunks all up in your business on vacation this won't be relevent. Long story short, great kids pool area but the amount of drunks around is annoying. They definitely cater more to that crowd than to the family atmosphere. Kids menu is (can I swear on here...you get it) non existent but hey, the concierge said his kid eats the jalapeno nachos so my kid should too! Btw I ordered them, they're like all the food here, stadium fare. Nothing exciting, and I am not picky. We had to physically move a drunk person out of the entrance to the elevator, that was fun. The hotel itself is nothing special, the area is super touristy (we usually enjoy Wailea much more and won't be back to this area) and crowded. The room service menu is awful, no real breakfast options if you're not a bird. I've never disliked a hotel this much and I've stayed in a room with black mold in Florence. Long story longer, no food options so prepare to be hangry, they don't pay attention to kids needs because drunks spend lots of money. The booze bike was always present but we literally never saw any of the other bikes they advertised.
