First time to Cabo, we went for it because it was a direct flight for our baby. We had originally booked Barcelo but heard construction was really bad at the resort so had to change last minute. Food was not great. Buffet specifically was terrible. The Asian a la cart- we liked the show, you have to reserve this one. Worth going to do so early- go at 2:45 if you want to get in. They don't take very many reservations. The food was good. Probably our favourite meal. We also ate there without a reservation just walking in. It was not as good. But still decent enough. The steak house- we ate here for lunch a few times, it's the only a la cart open for lunch, really nice spot on the beach. Prepare to wait a while which is kind of annoying mid day but the buffet is so gross we didn't mind. We also had dinner here. It was good. Italian- not my favourite but it wasn't disgusting or anything. The Mexican...... yuck. The tapa bar was really good we liked it there a lot. The snack bar was also good, food was basic but did the trick. Anything to avoid the buffet. They did a couple outdoor garden buffets, which would have been nice because it was lovely to eat outside but the food just wasn't good. Breakfast wasn't good either. I don't eat eggs but my daughter did like the omelet station. No bacon the entire time I was there which would have been nice. In general there was not enough Mexican food, like where's the frickin salsa and guacamole?!?!? The resort just in my opinion was way too Americanized. No Mexican decor, no music playing, nothing authentic, I know this is a resort and that is to be expected to some degree but I mean nothing. And I like that. I'm in Mexico, I want it to be as authentic as possible. Some positives, The staff was great, nice beach, not swimmable as most beaches are not in the area but a few swimmable beaches are a short cab ride away if you wanted to do that. Not too much harassment, although I was annoyed when we arrived and right off the bat got a lady asking us to go for lunch at the sister hotel. I finally had to say we just want to go to our room. We upgraded to altitude only because to switch hotels we needed to spend more money or we'd lose it. Our room was beachfront and nice. 4th floor which was perfect for me personally. Great view and I love the ocean sounds. There was really nothing distinguishing you from other guests because they don't have bracelets there so other then the nice room it didn't benefit since everyone can use the other perks really, there's a rooftop bar but everyone was going up there. All said and done I wouldn't return personally but it wasn't that bad. The pools were beautiful. And the hotel was kept clean. Housekeeping was great too. The gym was nice also. Didn't use the spa. I'd give it 3.7 out of 5. If the buffet food was better or even edible I'd have scored it higher. If food an authenticity isn't super important to you then you'd probably really enjoy this hotel. Also no nighttime entertainment. With kids it's nice to have something to do in the evening, or at least the option to do so. They had a little dance show one night. And did movies in the beach most evenings. That was it.

I booked this resort and then proceeded to read the reviews. I have to say , I was concerned. However , it was a great vacation. The resort is new. The rooms are beautiful. The food at the restaurants was great and so was the service . All the staff where friendly and helpful and work so hard to make the whole vacation amazing . The beach is clean , and pools where amazing . The coffee shop was my husbands favorite thing . We ate at the asian restaurant 3 nights in a row.. Downside - upgrade your room so it’s away from main road . It’s super noisy . But it wasn’t a big deal since we didn’t spend too much time in the room. I’d go back . Special thanks to Ivan , Anna and Daniel who took great care of us!

NO access to the OCEAN BLACK FLAGS every day, undertow too strong. Stuck in the pool or take your life in your own hands. The staff is awesome they are friendly and do their best. The AMstar personnel are useless! They don't answer questions just try to sell you over-priced excursions. Your best bet is to flag a yellow and purple bus in front of the hotel to get to San Jose or San Lucus. only $2 each way or Uber $10. Taxi's by the hotel $45 each person, Rip off! The men/women selling on the beach are also rip-offs. Consider the jewelry costume and negotiate. The restaurants are good but if you have a group they will just bring food to you, special orders upset them or they just don't do it. The Taco, Tapas, and Japanese restaurants are all very good. AVOID the dinner buffets. Breakfast buffet is good. There were plenty of seats around the pool and on the beach. Volleyball is only for 1 hour a day-- ridiculous not alot to do other than drink half strength drinks and sit in pool.

I would encourage anyone considering this place to rethink your choice and spend the money elsewhere- Bait and Switch activities are used at every turn - Go at your own risk. I will NEVER EVER FO BACK!!!!!!

We were at the Reflect Krystal Grand from Nov. 30th to Dec 5th. We traveled with 2 children (an almost 2 year old and a 6 month old). Prior to our trip I reached out to the hotel to clear up some of my concerns regarding staying with 2 young children. Thanks to the great team including the concierge team Jose, Diana, Sebastian and Yesenia we had warmed whole milk delivered at set times for our toddler, a crib set up for our baby and LOTS of bottled water readily available (20 bottles on arrival!). The staff also brought a microwave into our room so that I could use it to boil water and sterilize bottle parts. The 24hr cafe is amazing- you can get Starbucks comparable drinks at all times and they even have almond milk and soy milk. Since we had kids we stuck to the buffet for most meals and I will say the food was very mediocre. The toddler was happy and fed with basic items but dad and myself were left ordering nachos, chips and guac (which were amazing) late at night to satisfy our hunger. The food will be the only reason my rating is 4 stars instead of 5 for this resort. We stayed in a ocean view room with king sized bed- it was very nice and spacious. There is an area in the room with a table and chairs- we pushed the table and chairs out of the way and were able to make a separate area for the 2 kids to sleep in their playpen and crib.
