I believe all know what they are signing up to when they book at such a massive hotel as Atlantis = good weather, not so healthy yet plentiful food, nice updated rooms, good views, mediocre customer service... all in all, I find this hotel to really deliver on what you believe you will get = a fun vacation, in a beautiful place, at a fair price. Twice I've been to Atlantis, and twice I've enjoyed myself and consider coming for a 3rd time. I always get spa treatments and enjoy them, I always go out of the property for dinners, and enjoy them.

We were told to move from Beach to ROYAL, due to low guests occupancy. The moving took half a day, only 1 bellman availabe to move luggages for guests, lengthy process at Royal in getting our suitcases to our rooms. Rooms had to be changed because we needed adjoining rooms. Room keys had to be changed several times before they worked. Water was disconnected from 12 noon , until 5, , front desk were just non-chalant about the reason for the water interruption.Flood in the room next to ours, flooded our room, we had to put towels on the floor to absorb the water, stench was horrible.

The Atlantis has something for everyone! Our housekeeper, Karen, was excellent. I stay at many hotels and they are very nice and have good housekeeping, but Karen topped them all. A spotless room every day! March 5-10, 2020.

After stepping off the plane, you are greeted with a warm welcome to this country. The locals treat their guests very kindly. Being on the 18th floor was a new experience cause most rooms in the Royal have sliding doors with a balcony. It was great to wake up every morning with a fresh breeze. Staying at one of the Atlantis resorts gives you free access to the water park. As an adventure myself, the Leap of Faith is a must. Face your fear of a highspeed slide as you slide through a tunnel filled with sharks. The best eateries are in Harbor Village. Try to avoid the high-end resturants, their food is alright. For families I would choose Murray's Deli. And for couples try Frankie Gone Bananas. The best time to go is in the off-season. Water may be a cold and you'll get more a chance for clouds/rain, but there are less people. For a real warm water experience try in mid-March. There is a lot to do on Paradise Island for both family/friends/kids/couples you name it. So a week is just enough in Paradise. The overall experience is relaxing. But do your research before you go. Know what activities you want to do before you go and have fun.

    A resort in disarray

We are a family of 6, two grandparents, two adults, two kids (8 and 12). I write very few reviews, but our experience was so sub-par that I've taken the time to share these thoughts, both for potential visitors and for the resort itself. I'm a hearty and non-fussy traveler, so for me to complain, it has to be bad. When we arrived, we were taken to our room in the Royal. This is no exaggeration, the room at your local Comfort Inn is likely nicer than the room we were in: ratty carpet, dated fixtures, lumpy pillows, etc. On day one, a pipe broke in an adjacent room, and the crew spent six hours trying to fix it. Then, for the next five days, the hallway smelled like a moldy sock. On the day where we finally cried Uncle, and decided to move our room, all the computer systems were down, so they could not make keys for new rooms. We would have spent four hours of our vacation making the change, so we sucked it up. When we checked out, we were given a nominal credit, and were told that "when the guests are gone, we'll be ripping out that carpet." Hey thanks! My mother in law, who stayed two doors down, had no hot water for three days, and enjoyed two toilet backups. This happens, of course, but the resort's response was abysmal. "We'll be right up!", to be followed by no one showing up, and no communication. Again, the Comfort Inn would have offered superior service. There were multiple times where we spent ten minutes on the phone trying to simply reach an operator. We were on the Trident Dining Plan. This cost a fortune, but the food and drinks at Atlantis cost a fortune, so be ready for this. Food was, on balance, good to excellent, but the service was comically slow. I understand the notion of "island time", but I often felt like I was living in a candid camera documentary testing our reactions to glacially slow service. The waterpark and beach were a joy for my kids, and there's tons of activity variety. The waterpark was a highlight: lots of different activities to keep two energetic rugrats busy, and the poolside situation was relaxing, if a little crowded. Be advised that hordes of cruise shippers are allowed to buy passes to us the Atlantis facilities, so there were some days where the lines for water rides were Disney-esque, and the joke around the pool was about the "Virus of the Seas" paying Atlantis a visit. There were also a few gross water spaces (the Abyss is the worst--trash and piss smell), and the lifeguards weren't wildly attentive. If you have a weak swimmer, keep an eye. Overall, the common spaces are beautiful and have good ambiance, but they can't cover up what is clearly a poorly managed resort. We will never come back.
