The hotel is basic, has what you need. You pretty much get what you pay for as it is quite simplistic. Breakfast is crap unless you purchase food, you can get Jamaican breakfast which was nice, but it will add up if you buy it every day. The pool is basic. Its on a beach which everybody and anybody is on. The local men will try and friend you up to get you to buy them a day pass. Don't let them take you for fool. Bathroom wasn't the nicest. On my third night there when I went out my room was broken into. My suitcase was sliced open and all my belongings (except my clothes) were stolen. This included my passport, money, cards, watch, handbag, sunglasses, alcohol EVERYTING!! They teef me up big time. The hotel staff didn't really care (other than one of the staff Miss Murray who works for the security team) the rest didn't give a damn, probably because they were in on it. Somehow people got into my room (hotel staff said we left the balcony door open but I know it wasn't open) and took all my stuff. Couldn't even offer a complimentary meal or something despite the fact I was scared to leave for two days. The place is not secure. Anyone can jump over or somehow find their way onto the premises. If you do stay here definitely do NOT stay on the ground floor as then they'll try and blame you for leaving the door open if something happens to your belongings. I would NEVER stay here again. Staff couldn't even look me in the face after what happened to me. Disgraceful to be robbed by my own people, I may be born in Britain but my whole bloodline born in Jamaica and its a disgrace that these things happen. My advice would be pay extra money and stay somewhere more secure.

    Pick somewhere else!

Beautiful view of the ocean from the 3rd floor. While looking through sliding glass doors that do not lock: 1 lock was broken in half, and the other lock was removed. The evening maintenance worker stormed out of my room with the door open, as if I was unreasonable for wanting my family to be as safe as possible or placed in another room. It seems like the room was burglarized before since the safe had a hole in it too. So, I asked the spiteful, lazy front desk female about it, she said I would have to leave a $20 USD deposit for something to put in the hole. Hummm! If the safe had been broken into, then I'd lose that deposit too. SMH! Plus, the Wi-Fi didn't work in Room 1305. That front desk person claimed it only worked in the common areas. However, the Wi-Fi worked in other people's rooms on each floor. Hummm? Posted pic of the peeling tub. Moved to a parking lot side room. Only one sliding glass door lock was broken. Used a stick to secure it. The security latch was broken. We were able to barricade ourselves in for the night. Wi-Fi worked. The tub didn't peel as much as pic. Still recommend shoes be worn. The best thing about staying at Rooms on the beach is the location. Make plans to eat at Shakru Express or some place outside of the hotel's restaurant. They're not interested in making a meal kid-palatable. To have one nice 3+ foot/1 meter shallow pool and the beach to use are splendid. It was odd that complimentary shampoo was not available. No fridge in the room.

The rooms here are very old, out of date, and dirty. The bathroom is very small and unclean. There are often bugs in the rooms. The WiFi is not reliable enough to check email, let alone attempt to use FaceTime or a streaming service. The pool closes at 6PM daily.

Our first impression of the hotel was not a positive, it looks rundown and is old, however, after staying there for seven nights my thoughts changed. Although I believe this resort caters to Nationals seeking a vacation, we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are clean and well cleaned each and every day. The Conteniental Breaksfast was served and well, very acceptable. Front desk staff, all but one were very friendly. The hotel staff in general especially as the days progressed became very friendly. The pool size is great, but only 3 feet deep, and open approximately nine hours per day. The beach on the other hand was amazing. Clear blue water, clean and warm. The bar closes round seven, so not sure if this would apply in high season, but the walk into town is very short and there you can find whatever you are looking for, food, stores, banks etc. We met a tour guide named Captain Kirk, apparently they are all Captains, who took us numours adventures including Nine Mile, Bob Marley's family home and his retesting place. Trip was one and a half hours, tour forty minutes.....if you want to get high, this is the place to go. So, although I originally would have rated this a one or less, it served me well and I respect there culture and people.
