Wonderful resort, great theming, close to Magic Kingdom, excellent food at Gasparilla Grill and Grand Floridian, with super amenities such as boat rides. Couldn’t be better! Definitely will do it again!

Working in the hospitality industry and wanting to organize a further stay to come, we had the chance to visit almost all Disney hotels on property, using our car, with always a warm welcome from the security guards. Except on Grand Floridian where we were not allowed to visit and asked to leave property... or pay $33 ! Quite a rude and cash-oriented welcome in a luxury property... maybe a way to tell us we would not fit their clientele. One thing for sure : this is not the hotel we will choose. Not meeting luxury standards. Quite a disappointment.

The grand Floridian, has returned to the place I remember. For a few years it seemed like there was a lack of staff, all that has changed and for the better, there is plenty of staff making sure the grounds are clean and the lobby too You can spend a couple of hours in the evening sitting in the lobby listening* to the band alternating with the piano player. We stay in the vacation club villas and the room was spotless. Food prices are the same as any other resort, a meal can be found for $15.00 up to $235.00/ per person. So you have options. If you decide not to stay stop in and check it out

We've stayed at the beautiful Grand Floridian before and loved it! What we haven't done is stayed Club Level at any Deluxe Disney Resort. Next time we will book way fewer dining reservations. Sugar Loaf has it all. Big hot and cold breakfasts. A chef cooking up Mickey waffles every morning of our stay. Espresso machine. Mickey Mouse sugar cubes. Fridge with bottled water and sodas (available all day). Juice and lemon water available in the lobby. This club level never closes its doors because it is in the middle of the main floor. A great feature. Hot and cold lunch. Soups. Mac and cheese. Chicken nuggets. Sandwiches. Salads. Tea time from 2pm to 4pm brings out scones and butter and jellies. A variety of teas. Dinner is again hot and cold selections. Really inspired dishes to certainly fill up on. The bar opens at 5pm and stays open until 10pm. Desserts and some snacks are served from 8pm to 10pm. Our children would grab a plate full and head to the room to watch television with their cousins while us adults were able to enjoy an end of day drink (or two). The staff in the Sugar Loaf building are AMAZING and deserve much credit for the constant superior service. I love chatting to them and learning about what buildings they've worked in and their time at Disney. Where they're from etc. It's my favourite part about Disney. Rooms have bath robes, slippers and you're welcomed each night with chocolates on your bed along with your itinerary for the next day. We were in a dormer room which I was worried about - but then LOVED! The high ceiling make the room feel very spacious. Balcony had a view of the marina and monorail going by. Sounds like heaven, right Disney lovers? This was a magical trip. Pool areas. Excellent. Running trail. Perfect. Gym. Small but bright and enough equipment. Outside area with seating to watch the fireworks. They play the Magic Kingdom music during the show. Are you worried about club level outside over inside - don't. We were so happy we stuck with Sugar Loaf. It gets you away from the main building and feels so peaceful. Buses run constantly to parks and we never waited more than a minute for one monorail and boats were always within 5 to 10 minutes. Well, I hope this review has helped someone out there make a decision. Look for the specials to come online, book direct with Disney. I booked this club level with a discounted rate on the room. Make your own My Disney Experience account. Disney will help you fix things directly. Call them. They are always happy to help. And if you care about having the most magical experience and have the money to do so - book the Grand Floridian - Sugar Loaf. Beach Club and Sugar Loaf - currently tied!!!
