I am a Disney frequent traveler from NY. This trip was our 4th stay in 2019. We usually stay at YC or POR resorts but wanted to try something new as we are considering becoming DVC members. When I booked this resort I explained to the CM that I was concerned over the size of the resort and getting to/from the Hospitality house. My husband and I get motion sick on the buses so we take boats to Disney Springs or Lyft to the parks. On the rare occasion we'll take a bus if we absolutely have to but we get so ill it's not worth it. The CM told me that she'd request a room near the hospitality house to avoid any issues. I hesitantly booked this resort on that guidance. Our flight arrived early and our room wasn't ready but I did ask where our building was and lo & behold we were on the other side of the resort. (1 1/2mi) When i expressed my reasoning for my request and distaste I was told that they were sold out and there is nothing they could do until "possibly" the next day. Then, we had to wait 7 hours for our room to be ready. (There also were no parking spots at the HH) The following day I expressed my dissatisfaction again after finding out you had to take a bus to the HH with 3 stops before you get there! (25 minutes total). THEN you can take another bus to a park or the boat to Disney Springs. We tried that once, missed our dinner reservation, and were so miserable when we were just trying to relax and have a good time. On the way back to the resort from a park you're subject to at least 2-3 stops before getting to your location. Again, another 25 minutes. When we got back to the room at 9:30pm the second day we noticed that a family moved into the adjoining room next to ours. The door/walls are SO PAPER THIN that I could hear a bag of chips being opened and could hold a full conversation using my "inside" voice with the lady next door, doors closed. The family was doing nothing wrong but there was NO WAY this was going to be a relaxing trip when I can hear every word to "Baby Shark" on their TV or that they didn't need extra towels, etc., next door until all hours. I felt like I had no privacy. At that point I had a meltdown. We paid good money and at this point I just wanted to go home. The manager worked until 10:30pm to try and find us another hotel. (they only had one other studio available, far from the HH and with an adjoining door) After being offered to move to the GF for an extra $300/night (LAUGH - we were already paying $500 for OKW) we settled on being transferred to POR. The Manager of this hotel does deserve a shout out as he was very professional and kind. So we packed up our room at 11pm and moved. After this, things got better but we still had several small issues. (no towels upon request, old menus in room, horrible pizza from room service, spotty wifi) All in All this was not a Disney standard trip. I was so disappointed in this hotel and truly thought a returning guest who spends hard earned $ would have been treated much better. I LOVE the time I spend at Disney and this trip was just horrible. TIPS: 1. If you don't have a room next to the HH you will be taking a bus with multiple stops just to get to the boat to Disney Springs or the parks. Same on the way back from the parks. So plan an additional 30 mins onto your trip while you tour the resort from a bus. :-( 2. Book a room without an adjoining door or you WILL hear everything, and i mean everything, from the room next door.

Old key west is one of the most quite resorts at Disney. This resort has it all. The have something for everyone. The boat ride to Disney spring is relaxing. There is a pool in each area of rooms. All area pools have hot tubs. You can get a room with two queen beds on bathroom. Old Key West is the only DVC resort with two queen beds in studio. They have one, two, and three bedroom.

Such an amazing resort to stay at. Very bug and open with many bus stops that when you leave the park will take you closest to your room. We had a studio and it was very spacious. Would recommend this for a upgraded resort experience.

    The happiest place on Earth!

This is my go to place whenever I’m feeling down or sad I only have to cast my mind back here. This was the first Disney Vacation Club resort. DVC takes everything that’s wrong with time share schemes and turns it over to make everything right. It is made up of villa type accommodations ranging from studios through 1 bedroom 2 bedroom and the top of the range 3 bedroom grand villa. Disney calls these resorts their home away from home resorts. They are all super quality individually themed resorts and OKW was the template for the whole program. It has bigger units than any of the others and they are truly very spacious. This is as I mentioned a DVC resort which was built for members but which Disney also rents out to the public. With some of the resorts Disney has a “hotel” side and a DVC side in a different area within the resort but this one has no “hotel” side so you are mingling with members which is a plus. You are treated exactly the same as the members. The studio villas are fabulous with a separate bathroom and balcony as well as a small kitchen area with sink, microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. All of the others have a separate living area and a full kitchen complete with washer and dryer in the unit. Staying here is very different to staying in a hotel room. There is plenty to do around the resort itself. You definitely could thoroughly enjoy a stay here without even going to the parks. Fab place to stay
