    Very old, outdated rooms!!

As a Marriott Platinum Ambassador Elite, I was very disappointed with this property. My family and I got upgraded to a suite and the room required major enhancements! The carpet was so old, smelly, and dirty. There was numerous flies in the room which really annoyed my 2 year old daughter. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly and the bathtub had hairs all over. It was disgusting. I actually had to spend the first ten minutes cleaning the room!! Marriott needs to invest in major enhancements!! Although the rooms were old and required updates, the hospitality of the staff members was amazing. Very courteous people! The restaurant was very tasty, and beautifully positioned next to the pool. Overall 2/5 only because of the condition of the room.

The worst customer service and old unpleasant, banquet managers that have been there for over 8 years. To the gm! We stay here over 10 years ago and it use to be the best hotel. You have grumpy old managers that have drained that property of it's TRUE full glory. I.suggest you hire new vibrant managers/ directors especially in the banquets department. This guys have been here.for over 8 years plus and your reviews are still the same. Out with the old and In with the new.

My husband and I visit The Riviera every couple of months for a well needed getaway. Fabian is the most kind caring and most professional employee any company could ever ask for! The entire staff is excellent and they all go out of their way to make us feel like a king and queen. If you haven’t visited this resort yet, you are truly missing out on a one-of-a-kind experience

We had a very pleasant stay at the Riviera P.S! It was about 115 degrees when we arrived, so the pool was about the only thing that we had on our mind. It did not disappoint. It was a Saturday afternoon and so there was a DJ mixing great beats. The music, coupled with refreshing drinks served poolside (literally, as we stood in the pool) - made for an awesome Saturday afternoon. There was a slight room mix-up at check-in, but they figured a way to keep us happy. The room was nicely appointed, and a decent size. The bed was extremely comfy. Had dinner later that night in the hotel restaurant. The food and service was really good (a bit pricey, but not too bad). I should mention that this is a Marriott Bonvoy hotel. It's really easy to miss this, as it's not very visible on the website, nor at the property. We did get points by using our Bonvoy #!

Terribbly disappointing, not what it seems on website

Don't be fooled but the grand reception, it's all down hill from there. Walking in the room, instantly it smelt like smoke. The bathroom is super dated and the balcony has zero privacy, you're basically sharing your outside space with adjacent rooms. The pool - if what you're looking for is a totally packed pool full of groups getting utterly wasted then maybe you'll like this. But if you're looking for a clean calm pool, where you can actually find a spare sun lounger than do not come here. The pool dj was like being in club at 2am. Impossible to hear yourself think and it felt like being on a terrible 18-30s holiday. When we expressed our disappointment to the staff at the front desk on how we couldn't find a seat outside, we were not met with any sort of understanding. It didn't feel like all guests belonged to the hotel?! The guy barely looked at us and apology definitely wasn't in sight when we asked whether we'd be able to check out early. We ended up changing hotels to the Avalon and put the Riveria far behind us. I'm sorry to say but it's pretty trashy and very underwhelming
