Great location, weather was perfect

mern999 (Innerkip, Canada) on Apr 20, 2024

just returned from 14 days at Sunscape with my group of 10 adults, this resort is no 4 star . The overall resort needs a major update (and cleaning) The lounge chairs around the pool area were never washed or cleaned the whole 14 days. The food is a 2 star at best, we ate several meals off site because of the repetitiveness. Breakfast had lots of fresh fruit which was nice, but NO TOASTER ,how can you call this resort a 4 star when they can not afford a toaster??. Found some meal staff very helpful, and then there were the others that just looked away when you were trying to get there attention. My group of 10 would never re-book here .

Love this resort!

We have been coming to PV Sunscape 4 times now and still love it!! The location is absolutely perfect.. beautiful beach and close to town! The food is great, the little coco cafe is fantastic and beds are comfortable! We are thinking of having a 50th birthday celebration/vacation there next year also!! Fun place for kids young and old ! The only reason I have a 4 star and not a 5 is because unfortunately our favourite buffet restaurant was under construction when we were there this year ?? but we were lucky enough to get our last breakfast in there as the renovations had completed the night before!! See you next year ???? CG wpg, mb

Very reasonable

I'll firstly start by saying in my opinion some of the overly negative reviews on here are not entirely fair so mu aim to give a balanced overview. The rooms are spacious and clean (bed enormous infact), and super comfortable. I agree with other reviews, the water in the room should be replaced daily, not every 3 or 4 days. We did have a daily problem of when using the hair dryer it would religiously trip the electrics in the room. Maintence typically arrived within 10 minutes to rectify the issue - apart from, typically the one night we had a dinner reservation in town and waited over an hour for the problem to be resolved. The food is OK- not great but sufficient. Unfortunately the typical area for the buffet was under maintence during our second week of our stay, and was relocated to the ball room (awful, like being at a wedding you've not been invited to!). The burger van for day time was ok, until week 2 when the huge queues started to form - not really acceptable to wait 50 minutes for a burger, but sadly only one guy left to run the show for the whole resort - so not his fault, other members off staff serving soft drinks in the van, when the bar is practically next door (noone is there for drinks, just a burger guys, use your staff where its needed). But it was ok once you got it. The other room for improvement is the on site restaurants are not bookable, it's first come first served. I don't think this concept works in an all inclusive whatsoever. Wait times were typically over 1 hour, despite being told 20 minutes. Again food ok once in, no different in quality just a change of scenery. Let's talk about sun bed wars. So every morning I needed to set an alarm for 6.30 to secure a sun lounger, and believe me, I wasn't the first down in a long shot. What isn't clear is if you do not return to your lounger within 30 minutes, items are removed. Not a huge problem for us as we are sun shine worshippers and intended to spend the whole day on the beds. However it's clear the hotel has a problem with people reserving and then not showing up when others struggle to find a spot. It made us feel we couldn't enjoy a lie on holiday, nor could we enjoy a morning beach walk to try and eliminate the night before excess! It also was the root of several arguments with many guests not aware of the rule. Could be better sign posted but it's fair enough for those greedy holiday makers who have no intention of actually using it and prefer to dabble between beach / pool / other then ruin it for other guests who have to go to auch lengths that i did. Bar staff are lovely and super friendly. Roberto as guest services also fantastic. In all, its a clean, friendly resort, good location, food ok, drinks ok. The overarching problem is there are simply not enough facilities for the number of guests and it could be better managed. Would say to the extremely negative reviews of this place it isn't a fair assessment, everyone is clearly trying their best to ensure guests have a good stay. If you paid Four Season prices I could understand the extreme reviews, but you didn't, did you. Lovely, cheap and cheerful fun in the sun.

Loud, loud, loud

58lrc (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) on Apr 15, 2024

The worst part of it is the noise… Loud disco techno music with very high base much of the day. Kiddie pool nice but results in screaming children as they ride the slides and have the water buckets spill on them. Cute, but it goes on from 10am or so until 7pm or 8pm, so screaming all day plus high base techno music. Not a peaceful environment. Food not great and could be cleaner. I would not come here.
