    Check in was horrendous

    The time it takes to check in is horrible. What was to be the day I proposed to my other half ended with her in tears exhausted and just wanting to get to the room after being in the lobby for over 2 hours. Michal from guest services did upgrade family to come and stay with us but it wasn’t enough. Staying adults only should mean that I have access to food without children 24hrs a day which was not the case. Food at most of the Reaturants was basic so not worth the time/effort of trying to find them. Would not stay again. The beach was subpar.

    Resort is beautiful grounds are immaculate the pools are really nice the beach is quite narrow. House keeping was good but, everyday we would have to ask for the mini bar to be replenished. The water and soft drinks were never replaced. The same was true of the towels and supplies in the room and upon calling housekeeping they apologized saying they would deliver what was required that never happened. We would have to go looking for a room attendant to get what we needed. This was frustrating as you expect that each day by 5pm your room will have been properly serviced. Not up to the Bahia Principe standard at all! The food in in our opinion always good at Bahia Principe Resorts the Aquamarine was no exception. The buffet is exceptional with Theme Nights all week long and lots to choose from for everyone. Breakfast has fresh egg dishes bacon sausages cereals whatever you might like. All the a la carte restaurants very good with the exception of the Gourmet it was very small portions and nothing special. The Mexican was excellent! The restaurant and bar staff are exceptional an absolute pleasure to accosted your every request. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel I think we just had a bad experience with housekeeping as this was no normal for Bahia Principe Resorts.

    Our experience was fantastic. Muchas gracias. The staff were amazing and did everything possible to ensure that our stay was pleasant. It was wonderful that we were able to eat at different buffets and restaurants. The buffet was great quality and the service was marvellous from all staff.. The room was clean and spacious and thanks to all the cleaners. It was an added touch to have lovely service at the beach, a big thank you to Gloria. Special regards to Elizabeth (lobby) who ensured that we were happy and contented at the hotel. A big thank you to everyone.

    Bad start to our holiday

    Arrived after a lovely BA business class flight yesterday to find out that the main buffet is shut ( no mention in an email I sent on 27th Sept after I saw bar closed on another try pad visor review). Then in room only get 2 beers and soft drinks in minibar per day with a message that if want more then will be a charge. This is an all inclusive holiday! No spirits as would need to pay 60 dollars per day to move to Amber (Amber was cheaper hotel option if booked by first choice) To also top this we realised this morning that whilst we were checking in last night our duty free bag containing 2x litre Kracken rum and berghaus jacket disappeared but they were definately with us all the way to the lobby. Hoping someone found in the lobby and will hand them in. The hotel now has a lost report open. Breakfast in the ‘ buffet’ at 715 was very hot as now being served in the pool restaurant with no air con. Food on the other hand not hot! We do have 2 other buffets to try so hopefully these will be better. We usually go to Riu 5star hotels and been to a number in Caribbean and Europe but thought we would try someone different and this hotel that claims to be 5 star at the moment is definitely not on par. Positive is lovely spacious rooms, pool and grounds very clean and people lovely. Let’s hope this first pitfall doesn’t spoil the rest of our holiday.

    I travelled for the first time to the Dominican Republic with my mom in July and loved it so much we came back 2 months later! The staff really treat you like family and will leave you feeling like an honorary Dominican cousin lol. I truly don't have a single complaint about this resort and am so appreciative of all the hard work that goes into making our vacations so special. The food + drinks, the beach, the service, and the cleanliness are all amazing. What more do ya need? Some beautiful and incredible staff members that I'd like to shout out are: Pedrito: he was the 1st one to recognize us from our previous visit and had our dinner reservations done within minutes. Super helpful when you've been flying all day! Enrique + Jorge: we may have over packed a bit but these two carried our bags up to the 3rd floor with a smile. We appreciate it!! Raymundo: super nice and respectful bartender at the Bahia Principe Village and Congas. What an infectious smile! Glenny- she does an amazing job with our room and is such a nice lady. Loved saying hi to her and thanking her for her service everyday! Estefany, Eridania, Yulisa- some of our favourite chicas at the buffet. You can honestly tell that they care about you and your dining experience! Alfredo: went above and beyond to help us make a last minute dinner reservation change. We truly appreciated it and you're right, the Gourmet Limbo was amazing! Mario: met him a few times during the nightly entertainment and he's a really nice guy. Brought our drinks to us with a smile and has some good dance moves too lol Kelvin- he made our sandwiches by the pool and kudos to him for being able to put up with some of those drunken personalities who demand their orders during the day! Marlon- this guy is gold so don't ever lose him lol. I think he can put a smile on anyone's face! And have you seen his dance moves? ?? Hairon- really sweet and hardworking. Always made sure to say hello and offer to dance with my super shy self ??
