I went with some close family friends of mine and had the most amazing time! The resort was very accommodating of all of our needs. We had a couple resort workers helping us out for the 10 days we were there ; Alfredo and pichi. They picked us up in the golf carts when we needed rides, they made up my parents room for my moms birthday, and took care of all of our needs. They were amazing! Everyone was so nice and welcoming. I will definitely come back to the melia!

    We will be back!

I recently just came back from the Melia Punta Cana Beach resort (Adults only side) 2 days ago (sad). I went with my BF and it was a great stay. As soon as we arrived we were greeted very warmly by a nice young lady and some immediately took our bags.As we were checking in, the guy at the desk immediately offered us champagne and spoke to up about our room. We chose the Premium beach side room. We originally wanted the level, but for some reason when booking through expedia, the flights were with really long layovers. So we stuck with the premium beachside and decided once we got to the hotel, we can see if we can upgrade. When I asked if we can upgrade, he said the rooms were completely booked up and there was no possibility of getting a level room. He did offer us to get the level services by buying the level bracelet, but just staying in our beachside room. It was offered at around $350 for the both of us and we said we would come back and decide on it. He gave us a map of the resort (its quite big), and X'd off the areas that we could not eat and a schedule of activities in the day. As we finished up at the front desk, we got escorted to the golf carts where they were going to take us to our room. We did not touch our bags once!! Everyone was so nice and accomodating which was nice and welcoming. As we were on the golf carts going to our room, I realized the resort was huge. If you want to be by the beach and the pool area PLEASE PICK BEACHSIDE ROOM OR LEVEL ROOM. If you pick the normal deluxe room, it is about a 15-20min walk to the beach... I am so happy we pick the beachside room because we were literally a 5 second walk to the pool and 1 min walk to the beach. It was great!!! We were not facing the pool or the beach, but we had a garden view which was still very nice. To be honest we were never really in the room anyway. Only when we would come back from the pool/beach to shower and get ready for dinner and then coming back to sleep at night. The rooms were nice all which rooms pretty spacious. The cleaning ladies did a great job making sure they were cleaned everyday. the restocked soaps/toilet paper/ cotton swabs/pads almost daily. A/C worked great, everything was great! We were on the lower floor and the lock was a little loose but there were security guards everyday and night so honestly I felt pretty safe! The pool was pretty big!! The pool bar was great. They had little huts that you could lay in but by like 9/10am they were usually taken so wake up early for a spot!! The beach was beautiful. but again, it would be full by like 9/10 so try to get a spot early. The level side of the beach was blocked with a little rope and they had little beds. We actually sat the first day there. It honestly is nothing special! yes they are nice beds but I am usually moving around throwing a football around. The level pool is also around the area. It is small and had little beds, but again I was totally fine at the normal pool usually playing volleyball with people. The Cape Nao restaurant by the level pool and Rumba were only opened on the weekend which kinda sucked so we only ended up eating once. We mostly ate our breakfast and lunch's at the MERKADO restauraunt by the beach. It is in between the Melia Punta cana (adults) and the Melia caribe (everyone), so here you will be seeing a lot of families with their children. We didn't really mind the breakfast and lunch with the kids, mostly the dinners. So like most review say, this is not REALLY an adults only resort, as most of the resaturants are shared with the family side. Breakfast food was pretty decent. We had an omelette made every morning which was yummy. Then there was typical breakfast food like bacon sausage ham lots of fruit and fruit juices and pancakes. Lunch food was just OK. Kind of bland. Nothing special. Dinner was great on the other hand. It wasn't until the 2nd night that we realized there were many other restaurants that we could go to other than the main buffet (MOSAICO) right by the lobby. We ate there the first night and were a little disappointed because 1) the food was not spectacular and 2) there were a lot of loud children everywhere. The second night, we got ready to go to the moisaico again and realized people walking towards another side. Since I knew some Spanish, i asked the hostess what was on the other side and she stated there was an Italian and Vietnamese restaurant. THANK GOD we discovered these because if we had to eat at the buffet every night, it would have been disappointing. The italian restaurant (CASA LOMA) was pretty good. Very small portions so I would order more than usual. The Vietnamese (MUIO) WAS AMAZING. It was our favourite and we went twice. The sushi was sooo good better than I would have expected and the pad thai was amazing. Curry and Suoy was good as well. Mexican (la hacienda) was our second favourite. Mediterranean(Capri) was also very good. I had the salmon which was amazing! We didn't get a chance to go to Alma. The last night we were there they set up a dinner on the beach which was amazing!!! The service at every single one of these restaurants was amazing!!! they refilled drinks so often and made sure we left satisfied. There was a restaurant right by the pool (QUIMERA) whcih was only for LEVEL. It was a rooftop bar and it looked awesome. We wanted to pay to eat there but we heard from other people that we met who had the level that the food was mediocre buffet food and they mostly went for the drinks and the view. So honestly, we were kind of happy we did not pay extra for the level. We pretty much got everything we wanted and a bunch of couples that we met (with level access) would usually come to the restaurants we would and always be at the main pool. i can't really speak on the level rooms but I heard you get 24hr room service which is nice if that is something you are looking for. In our room, we ordered beer and they brought it to us right away! The only thing I wish we knew more of was the activities happening at night. The first night we got told there was a Neon party, so we waited in the lobby until about 10:30pm until we got tired and then the next day we heard it was in the Melia Caribe lobby. All in all, I really enjoyed this resort. It is definatley more of a calm environment. Not too many party stuff happening in the day. Just like some water aerobics, zumba, yoga, which is nice. If you are coming to just relax and chill out, this is the place for you!! I hope to one day come back to this place!!! Loved it!

Our experience at Meliá was horrible. I can't recall experiencing such a bad service at a hotel. Starting from the check in process in which we were provided no explanation about the resort facilities but rather was focused on area we are not welcome at (vip only). There was a fan above our bed which we couldn't turn on or off without using the room master switch. We asked to fix it and they said they will send someone. This person arrived the next day at 8 AM and knocked on the door until he woke us up. We asked him to come back later but this never happened. It was nearly impossible to get soap for our room. Except for the first day on which we had one we couldn't get any more. We tried asking at the reception at least 3 times and each time they promised to send it to our room but it obviously never arrived. The last attempt was after talking to a manager named Rafael who assured me that he talked to the head of cleaning services and promised that the soap will be delivered (still didn't happen). Another big surprise was that this resort is not really an adults only resort! There are in fact two hotels, one of which is adults only but they share most of the facilities. The food was not great to say the least in most of the restaurants (Alma was the worst in particular) with the exception of Capri that had good food and a good server (Omar). When we checked out the process was fast and efficient. No one even cared if we enjoyed our time there or if there were any issues.
