This resort was a dream come true! It was better than we even imagined it could be. The service was superb (we’re talking better than Chick-fil-A), food was great, and the scenery and layout were tops!

A fantastic time during a strange world order

My wife and I are Prestige members but haven’t been to El Dorado Royale for 17 years (our honeymoon.) This year we decided to try Casitas. We arrived on a Saturday and the place was bustling. We got a room in the 32 building, second floor. The room was great and the infinity pool on the 2nd floor was fine as well, getting sunshine in the morning. We had heard that the corner rooms in 30, 31 and 32 were extra special, but when we asked Fabio from Prestige he said they were booked up. Oh, well! Our butlers, Manuel and Alexis, made sure we had everything we needed, including special shots when we arrived at the room each night. The reservations we had made on the Prestige site were all in place. The first three days, I had to make sure to be up by 7 to reserve a beach bed. The beds and the chairs around the pool filled up quickly. The restaurants were all very good. We are at Kampai, D’Italia Casitas and Fuentè the first three nights. All were very good. Kampai was my wife’s favorite, but I probably give D’Italia Casitas the slight nod. Fuentè was members night, which gave us the wine pairings for free. We enjoyed the cooking show that goes on while you eat. The contortionist and women who climb high into the sky were also entertaining. On Tuesday morning, Fabio appeared at our beach bed. He now had availabilities at the corner rooms! We moved to 3001. The room was majestic. A bedroom, a walk in closet, living room, private pool, reserved beach bed (no more days getting up at 7) and a table at the end of a deck near the beach. We were also given the ability to order delivery from any restaurant on the property (well, more on that later.) While we ate at D’Italia Royale the first night, we chose to order in the final three nights. Gaby, Adrianna and Candido (on the others’ days off) all were amazing. They communicated with us via WhatsApp, drove us where we wanted to go and coordinated all our food, drinks and anything else we needed. Adrianna took special care to leave special things in the room each night. As the week progressed, the world impact of Covid-19 crawled into paradise. In addition to own work and home concerns, it became apparent that the population of the resort was dwindling. Some restaurants closed. We felt very sorry for the workers, as their livelihoods were being affected despite the fact Mexico has continued to have very few cases of the virus. Nevertheless, we could see how few people were left. We could see a few restaurants were closing because of the issue. On our last night we planned to order from Wine Kitchen, but for some reason they refused to let Candido bring us food to our room. So we tried another restaurant but they were closed without anyone’s knowledge. Finally after about 2 hours we got some food. It was frustrating, but with all that was going on it was understandable (with the exception of Wine Kitchen’s uncooperative attitude with Candido.) Our memories from this week will always be bittersweet, as we had an amazing room, resort and staff. At the same time this was one trip where we weren’t able to leave the real world behind, and the concerns for our fantastic resort team were all to real as well. Thank you to all at Casitas and Royale, and we hope the world dramas end soon for everyone, including in our home U.S. and in Mexico. We can’t wait to visit again.

Me and my husband have just experienced the most incredible honeymoon here. The staff are wonderful! Maria Jose, Josie, Hugo, Mike and Jose in the entertainment team have incredible enthusiasm, they are so much fun and made our honeymoon extra special!!! The rooms are gorgeous with a spa bath and outdoor shower. The maids are excellent, and the rooms spotless with a nice turndown service. All bar staff and restaurant staff were SO attentive, and the quality of food was sensational! The team in the Italian restaurant in Casitas were extremely attentive, teaching us new Spanish words and gave us excellent food recommendations. On karaoke night in Guacomales bar- the staff went above and beyond to ensure the party was the most fun, nothing was too much to ask! The shows have been great! The Mexican fiesta is unreal! The lassou man was excellent! The Diva show - they were SO talented. The fire and drums show was so entertaining and the talent was brilliant! Can’t fault anything! Loved every moment!! Extra shout out to Maria Jose and Josie <3 they should be promoted!!

First time trip to Mexico and had a fabulous time at the Eldorado Casitas Royale. The hotel complex was clean and extremely well maintained. The gardens, pools and beach areas were constantly, but discretely being looked after and cleaned up. The rooms were spacious with high ceilings, a centre fan, air con and a lovely balcony. The food was good in all of the restaurants and drink plentiful. The only disappointment for us was that JoJo's beach bar was temporarily closed for refurbishment as we had heard it has great atmosphere. The best thing however is the staff who could not do enough for you. From the restaurants to the bars, the consierge, the shuttle bus drivers - they were all great. A big mention though goes to our Casitas pool bar tender Julio and our beach butler Eleazal. These guys could not do enough for you and were thoroughly nice guys to talk to. Its a long way from England, but if we do go back to Mexico we would definitely come here again.

El Dorado Casitas Royale was the best experience my husband and I have ever had. We came here on our honeymoon and it was an absolutely dream. The service we had during our stay was exceptional, especially at the restaurants on the resort. Mariano and Marco were excellent servers and always made us feel special. They honestly made our experience that much better. We are planning to go back next year and we can't wait!
