stayed for a week at this Hotel at the end of October and from the moment we walked into reception we felt welcomed and at ease. The Hotel itself is rustic with, Caribbean and Mediterranean vibe going on, the room was spacious and cleaned on a daily basis with fresh towels and the view from our room over the 2 beaches was fantastic, waking up to the sound of the sea every morning, even the constant sound of crickets and other critters at night didn't bother us, its all part of the charm and atmosphere of this wonderful hotel. The food was fantastic with a good variety of dishes and the service from the staff was brilliant and attentive, breakfast comprised of a good selection to cater for all nationalities, being Brits the sausage bacon and eggs were perfect to set us up for the day. again lunch was excellent quality and the evening meal was a different theme every night on a weekly basis, plenty of meat, fish, vegetables salad and pasta, there was always something to tickle your taste buds. The all inclusive drinks menu was good, with the normal spirits on offer, and a good selection of cocktails, and of course wine. beer and hot beverages and also water top ups were available as long as you had your own container. Also again I cannot reiterate enough how fantastic the staff at this hotel are, always smiling and catering to your every need, restaurant, bar, cleaners and reception staff all should receive recognition for their genuine friendliness and helpfulness. As for Antigua itself, all I can say is PARADISE!! we could not fit into one week all the things there is to see and do. Our highlight was Shirley heights party which is held every Sunday and costs $8 US to get in, once you are in the food and drink prices are reasonably priced and the entertainment is fantastic with a steel band and live band and of course the sunset is unmissable. we had a day trip to Barbuda which will stay in our hearts for the rest of our lives, with its beautiful pink and white sand beaches, wildlife and crystal clear waters this truly is the Caribbean at its best and what you envisage Paradise to be, Princess Diana beach is a must see while on the Island. We found getting about in Antigua can be quite pricey to get a taxi from north to the south of the island and back again, you are talking $90 US but after a few days there we discovered the local bus services, and ended up doing the same trip for roughly equivalent to £7.50 and it was fantastic mixing with the local community and exploring off the beaten track as well as nelsons dockyard in English harbour which was a really interesting day out with loads of history, And I must add that not at any point during our stay did we feel unsafe everyone is so friendly and helpful, even exploring St Johns away from the tourist areas we felt safe. We went hiking through the undergrowth down forgotten footpaths (with help of google maps) to find a little beach called bush bay, we had it all to ourselves all day and was well worth the walk. To summarise, there are a few negative reviews on here and I respect peoples opinions, but for us the hotel and Antigua itself is an amazing place, if you want pure luxury, go for the larger resorts, if you truly want a true taste of the Caribbean this is the place for you. be an explorer not a tourist and you will benifit from the experience we will return someday and see and do the things we didn't have time to do, a week just wasn't long enough. Thankyou Ocean point for making our stay a truly memorable experience and showing us the delights of your beautiful Island, when things get tough at home we now have our happy place to look back on.

The hotel is situated on the North of the island and is a small place right on the sea having 2 nice beaches yards from the bar. We got a taxi from the airport and cost 13 USD which is what was expected. The room was OK, but could do with an update. When we boiled the kettle, all the electrics went off ! An electrician had to come and fix it. There are tea/coffee etc in the room, but no milk ! So you can't actually make a cuppa in the morning. The aircon was very good with a modern easy to use unit. The bathroom was OK but there is a basket containing 'body butter' whatever that is. But no evidence of shower gel or shampoo. There are some soaps for use, but they smell like a really bad cheese yuk! Towels are changed daily. The restaurant is OK but there is not a great choice of foods. They have an a la carte part to the retaurant but we never saw anyone in there. The place is supposed to be run by Italian's but I never saw any Italian food? There is a cat which is in the restaurant daily meaowing at diners begging for food which is so annoying. I don't want any animals around me when eating. The hotel have a food dish for the cat, thereby attracting it back all the time..they should stop feeding it and it will go elsewhere. I'm sure this is a health issue? The large pool was very warm, and there were some great sunbeds, but there were only 3 parasols ? If you walk down to the 2 beaches, you will find sunbeds and fixed wooden parasols. Towels are provided which was good. I had a good sleep every night, BUT if you are a light sleeper you will not appreciate the extremely loud crickets chirping outside, they are EXTREMELY loud and chirp all night until sunrise! Due to it's isolated position, it's a good job it's all inclusive because if you want to go out you have nowhere to walk to. There is a restaurant about 5 mins walk away called 'the Bistro' which is very very very expensive (£120 for 2 with wine) but you can't walk there as the roads are very uneven and no street lighting. You have to get a cab which costs 20USD round trip when the restaurant is just under 1km away, yes 1km !!! Enough of the hotel, now Antigua in general. The taxi's are a complete tourist rip off ! It cost us 90USD (around £80) for a taxi to English Harbour which is 12 miles away. If you look at car hire, a small car costs 60USD plus fees/taxis/CDW etc making it 100USD per day! There are no mopeds for rent, but the local bus cost just 1 USD from the hotel to Saint Johns which was great, but on the return journey we had to wait 45 mins until enough people were on the bus for it to set off. I wouldn't us the bus at night. The roads are mainly unkept mud tracks and we almost got hit 3 times head on by other cars. Very dangerous. St Johns is the capital but is a complete 3rd world hole. I was expecting culture, a good vibe etc, but it was most dissappointing. The only place which was as expected was English Harbour and Nelsons Dockyard and Shirley Heights. A good walk around the historic dockyard, then on Thursdays and Sundays up to Shirley Heights where there is a steel drum band, bars and a BBQ which is really good value. It is a must. Other than that, we won't be returning to Antigua. My ankles are also suffering from the numerous mosquito bites. The hotel has some really great staff who are a real credit and we love them dearly.

Stayed in the hotel with my mom for UWIOC graduation. Staff is extremely amazing, friendly. Stayed on the all inclusive plan, food was good but the drinks on the all inclusive was limited as the blender wasn't working. Had a few small roaches on the room and there aren't any hand rails but the pool was great. The fact that there are 2 lovely small beaches. Another upside, the hotel is located a good distance from the hotel & we had to take taxis.

Very pleasant and great value for money

We had the best time at this hotel. The rooms were bright and spacious. The reception was very helpful and the bar always had a good atmosphere- laid back In the afternoons and fun at night with entertainment including a good live band. The pina coladas were the bomb. The restaurant all inclusive buffet was fresh and homemade. They were also very helpful with allergies, running me through each dish daily, and would prepare things specially for me if I wanted. The pool area is very relaxing with beautiful flowers. We loved this hotel, especially considering the price, and would go back.
