    This was my 3rd trip to Sandals, and it keeps getting better and better. I finally ventured from Jamaica and I was slapped in the face that another island can be better than the first. Service was outstanding, and the staff was remarkable! Highly recommend Antigua, but we are trying St Lucia next.

    All the advertised water sport activities were not available during our stay because of COVID retrictions

    The island is beautiful and the Sandals Grande Antigua resort is well maintained and offers great amenities, however I would not book here again until after the COVID scare is over. The beaches are public (which means local vendors are allowed) and the Antigua government closed the beaches for 4 of the 5 days of our trip due to COVID concerns. We only found out about this fact when we tried to walk onto the beach and were turned away. This meant no water sports (sailing, water boarding, kayaking, snorkling, scuba) or even sitting or walking on the beach was allowed. Our last day when we were allowed on the beach had to be cut short because the COVID return trip test appointments were scheduled for that late afternoon. Sandals promotes a combination of pool and beach activities but we only had the opportunity to experience the pool offerings and there was no compensation or alternatives offered for the loss of the beach activities..

    Sandals Grande Antigua Reunion week 2021 at SGA was our best experience yet. The weather was spectacular and that wonderful island breeze was the cherry on top. The entire staff was friendly and courteous, and there are a few that made a lasting impression. First our butler team of Wendel, Vanessa, and Miss V (Vakeesha) were second to none! They tended to our every need and then some. They made our week the best ever. Next, a shout out to Latisha at the loyalty desk. She helped us organize all of the reunion week activities and book our next Sandals vacation. She is full of personality and is such pleasure to work with. Next is the pool volleyball judge Kelisha. She had us laughing every day and was a terrific sport! We cannot wait to come back to beautiful Sandals Grande Antigua.

    Said they were open but beach was closed 4 of 5 days there. No cold water in shower. Called 3 times but didn't get fixed till 3rd day in room. Did get a 200 dollar resort credit but would rather have shower that worked.

    Not the stay I expected

    Unfortunately this was not the 5 star experience we are used to or expected. The beaches were closed for our entire stay, the resort never advised of this prior to our arrival; as a first time sandals guest we were not advised of all the restaurant guidelines and check in / reservations policies, service was poor with the one exception of Marsha and Kelly at the pool cabana service. They knew how to deliver 5 star service. Food was average and not many choices, pool bartenders at main pool were rude and very slow, always running out of alcohol and leaving guests to find something else. No beach excursions were allowed and beaches were closed for our entire 5 night stay. Did not provide clean towels or amenities unless we called and rooms need updating not the room you see online. I was celebrating my birthday which they never acknowledged. The grounds were gorgeous but most of the resort needs work. I don’t think this is a brand we would recommend based on this experience. We travel a lot and have lots of other options offering great deals and 5 star service.
