Pros: - location is ideal for walking and shopping. It’s close to good restaurants and bars and the beach is nice and clean. - service is friendly. Check in took a while but they upgraded us to an ocean view so that’s awesome. - the parking is free and plentiful. - staff is friendly and welcoming - price is great for the location Cons: - rooms are a bit dated but ok for a family or if you’re not looking for anything fancy. Don’t expect the Ritz when you’re paying for the Holiday Inn. - the towels are only limited to 2 towers per card. Two max. Don’t even try to ask. - the water is nice but not crystal clear due to the sand and proximity to constant boat traffic. You cannot see your feet in the water. - the proximity to the piers and boats can be noisy if you’re trying to relax Overall: I’d come back. It’s a great value and if you don’t like the food, there are plenty of choices within a 4 minute walk.

Checked into room 5486 on 11/14. Checking out tomorrow 11/21. Found out by chance being an IHG member would provide 15% discount on meals/drinks on property. Made an inquiry to the manager who told me I should have known about the discount it was my problem/issue. Will not stay at this hotel again. Had this conversation within the last hour I did not get the female manager’s name.

    Thanks

Thanks for a lovely vacay and anniversary celebration. Will return to relax and chill. Beautiful views! Friendly people. Good service. Maybe try to upgrade outdoor bar. Restaurants nearby. Nice Pelican pier. Safe swimming area. Easy towel hut.

So our trip started out horribly thanks to no fault of the hotel, trying to get covid test results within the 72 hour time frame the country of Aruba allows is nearly impossible in the US. When we arrived here at the hotel they tried to give us two double beds when we had booked an ocean front king, no problem they said we’ll have one ready for you it just needs to be cleaned, bc we had to test for covid at the airport we were confined to the couches in the lobby. Hours went by and finally my fiancé asked how much longer and they said oh the room has been ready. The women who checked us in said she wasn’t going to bother giving us information about the property bc we wouldn’t be able to hear her anyways with the masks on, amazing hospitality. We get to our room and we’re told we have to stay there until the test results are back so we’re able to order room service, great, except there are no menus anywhere, no information about the property, nothing. We call downstairs they tell us to scan the paper... Um what paper? Someone had to come up and show us a 2” square of paper that had a QR code on it with the restaurant menus, prob would have been helpful info when we checked in. We go to wash our hands, the room on the other side of the bathroom started flooding, the entire sink had to be replaced. We stayed on the bed the whole time the maintenance man was doing so over the next few hours. Then the next day after getting our negative test results we venture out for a cold, old, stale breakfast, try to come back to the room bc the weather has been horrendous and we’re locked out. Apparently, you’re supposed to show the desk when you get your test results, again would have been nice to know that. We asked multiple staff where things were on the property and we were waved off with the flip of a hand, good luck getting a straight answer out of any staff here. The rooms look NOTHING like the pictures on websites also btw. Lunch and dinner were very good, that’s the one positive. The Beach is pretty but the water is cloudy, not sure if the bad weather is to blame for that. Third day here, go for breakfast, come back to the room and AGAIN we are locked out, this time for a bad battery on the door. I wouldn’t come back to this resort if it was free. Do yourself a favor, spend a little extra money and go elsewhere to avoid the headaches. Our original trip was to Jamaica but was cancelled back in April bc of covid and when we tried to rebook there were no flights to Jamaica available with our airline and I had 5 mins to choose something else. What a waste of a trip.

Horrible customer service upon arrival to the hotel the staff treated us like we weren’t tourists didn’t felt welcome. Room service and drinks were the worst I had in any hotel. I went to the bar area to get couple drinks and asked for a glass instead of the dollar cups that they gave, staff starting speaking Spanish cursing and being rude not knowing that I spoke Spanish I had to tell him about him self best part of the trip was seeing his face turn white of the embarrassment. 1st time visiting Aruba and because of this hotel and staff I won’t be going back.
