Had a blast can t wait to go back. Our room wasn t ready when we arrived, but they simply sent us to the bar for complimentary drinks and Cesar had our bags in our room when we got done! He was fabulous all week helping us with any and everything we needed as we came into and left hotel. Everyone we encountered went above and beyond in trying to help is. Ebony one of the waitress’ at the pool bar at the suites was a trip, gave great service and had us laughing the entire evening. Thanks for a great trip!

It was ok - expected better!

It’s an ok hotel, certainly not as luxurious as advertised on their website. The hotel room is small, the lobby is invaded by flies and all the lounge chairs by the pool are disgustingly dirty and covered in stains. Overall, the hotel needs to be renovated and cleaned from top to bottom. The next time we visit Aruba, we plan on staying in one of the high rise hotels near Palm Beach.

I have got to give kudos out to the two guys that made my week fun and unforgettable at the Renaissance Aruba pool bar! Jacques and Jero!!!! Two very attentive staff members that were always paying attention to your needs!! Very friendly and outgoing, you can tell they love their job and the tourists who visit! Jacques always had our drinks waiting for us BEFORE we actually got over to the pool bar....with a beautiful smile and greeting by name!! Now, that’s service!

Friendly staff and good location but..

I felt like I was teleported to America. Burgers on the menu, people watching american football in the bar and overly friendly staff everywhere. Really there isn't anything about Renaissance Aruba that you won't find in some American city. Sitting in the lobby you could close your eyes and think you're in Florida. So if you want to go abroad while staying in the States then go the Renaissance Aruba. It was a little difficult for me to rate this place because I felt it was probably perfect for the target audience - I just wasn't it. Here's a little summary: + Location. I liked that it wasn't in the Palm Beach neighborhood which meant more local restaurants and a shorter drive to Eagle Beach, St.Nicholas or the airport. + Staff. There is plenty of it and they are extremely nice. Special thanks to Roberto (room service) and the guys at the front entrance. + Clean. As per American standards. Spotless and new. + Casino. Open 24/7, tables and slots, free drinks and feels safe. + Flamingo Island. We loved it. Not just the flamingos but two beaches, hammocks, sun chairs and cabanas. It's private so it's not full of people, only hotel guests. The boat ride is in itself quite fun. Kudos for creating an adults only side. + Food and drinks. From the breakfast on Flamingo Island to drinks at the lobby bar, everything was perfect, delivered in a timely fashion and with a smile. + The gym is big and well equipped. Water cooler, towels, AC. So how come only three stars? Well like I wrote in the beginning, it's all very loud, wealthy and well, American. There is a Starbucks in the hotel lobby. The hotel is attached to a mall. You get Fox News in your room. As far as local color there is none. I guess the same could be said about the whole northern part of the island but it's really accentuated in this hotel.

My wife and I just finished a week at the Family Side of the Renaissance in a ocean view suite. The hotel is beautiful and kept very clean. Rooms are kept up and very clean, have a decent size refrigerator and microwave and small coffee maker. View from the room was of the pool and ocean which was an upgrade from the original suite due to my status with Marriott which was nice. Pool area is kept very clean, lots of unsupervised kids running about but to be expected. The have a man made beach and lagoon which is nice as well and much more quiet than the pool area and at no cost. Private Island is the way to go, about a 10 minute ride by boat and they have a family and adult only section. The family side is much larger but the adult side has the flamingos running about. We did a private Cabana two days which was great, Butler Service for drinks and food, hammock over the water and complimentary snorkel gear. Pool bar at the main hotel is the only bar on the property and is pricey. This is my only complaint or issue with the resort.. $9.50 for a local beer is a bit much but if you wait for happy hour which is 4.30 to 6.30 it's half price. One last pool beach related issue, this week was spring break on the island and they had issues with non hotel guests and their children running around and taking up chairs. They had to issue wristbands to guests to ensure you were a registered guest. To sit and have a drink with you spouse that is not in a pool glass you need to go across the street to the marina hotel and the blue bar which is very nice. They also have no shopping on the resort, you need to go across to the local store and their prices are very high. Go into town and get your sunscreen for a better price. We have been coming to Aruba for 14 years and have stayed in the high rise section for the majority of our visits and will most likely go back to that area next year. Overall it's a beautiful facility with top notch service.
