The big plus is resorts location to Front St. Rooms are decent, no ice or coffee filters. We have been coming every yr for over 10 yrs, ea yr resort just slips alittle further, be it AC not working, the “new” resort and cleaning fees that double the posted nightly rate, cable TV that takes a nuclear engineer to figure out, all this little stuff that annoys and you expect to work when you are paying over $1,000 for just a few nites. Big draw for me was salt water pool, which I understand now is no longer. The original charm and beauty of the place is pretty much gone and it feels like an Orlando Beach spring break loud house. Not sure we will be coming back....

We’ve been coming to the Ainu Nalu every year or two for ten years now. We appreciate the well-appointed condos, peaceful atmosphere, two nice pools and short walking distance to Lahaina town and the harbor. This trip, however, we were in for a big disappointment. The property is beginning to look and feel run-down. Critical routine maintenance tasks, such as trash removal, are overlooked, and parts of the property, such as the second-floor walkways and stairs, are badly deteriorated. And the staff, formerly friendly and welcoming, are in some cases surly and inattentive. Fortunately, our unit, A204, was in very good shape, with everything functioning and the kitchen well-equipped. But the small pool was unusably cloudy, and officially closed for more than half of our two-week visit. We contacted the owners of our unit, who alerted the maintenance staff, but their efforts to resolve the problem were ineffective. I don’t think we’ll be back.

Repeat visitors disappointing stay at Aina Nalu

This was our fifth stay at Aina Nalu and for the first time I have to give it a bad review. I come to Aina Nalu every few years to sit by the pool and read, to swim and cool off when it is hot, while my wife likes to shop in Lahina town. My biggest disappointment has to do with the swimming pools! The big "salt water pool" (listed in all of their advertisements) is no longer a salt water pool, as advertised! While speaking with an employee maintenance person, he admitted that the cell that converts the salt to chlorine has been broken for over a year and that there is no salt left in the water! According to him, the HOA has not authorized it's to being repaired. (I have a salt water pool in my back yard at home...) The chemical balance of the water must be way off. The water in both pools is so cloudy that one cannot even see the bottom of the pool! When walking by either pool the chlorine smell is very strong. My eyes burned for 24 hours after doing twenty minutes of laps in the big pool. Our unit, as well as the grounds, are really showing their age and lack of maintenance. We were in a second floor unit and our dishwasher had a sign on it (I don't know how old the sign was) saying "do not use, need to be replaced". Never heard from anyone, before or after, about it being repaired or replaced! The second floor wooden walkways are in very bad condition and the wood is rotting. The blinds in our bathroom were broken.

We stayed at Aina Nalu, Lahaina for 6 nights. It was a nice large group of condos only a short walk away from the shops, cafes and restaurants of Lahaina. The complex has 2 pools with bbqs which we made use of. The unit we stayed in had a nice homey feel with all the necessities for a comfortable stay and there was a great supply of bath towels and pool towels. One minor problem was the second bedroom didnt have air con, only an overhead fan and was quite hot of a night. Overall we were happy with the stay.
