Maui is always good but the resort was a little worn

Hotel is as little worn and tired. Rooms small compared to other Marriott Villa properties. And they need more two-bedroom units. So hard to get one. The property is so big you feel like you're just in a vacation village more than Hawaii. The beachfront is great and we had good walks along the shore.

I would really give this facility 3 1/2 stars. Our room was a premium ocean view. The room was approximately 1000 sq. ft. and beautifully furnished. The ocean view was limited and less than what we expected. The property seems to be a condo or time share complex. It is a huge facility in an good location. The term Villas is really not appropriate, as this is simply a large timeshare condo type complex. There are very few amenities here, so for us this was a negative. They do have a concierge presentation the morning after you arrive which was well received and is a nice touch. They also had a Mai Tai Wednesday event with free Mai Tais and music for hotel quests. In summary, the room was outstanding, but how much time does one really spend in a room in Hawaii? 3 1/2 stars is a decent rating for this facility.

Like staying in places with a full kitchen so we were drawn to this property. Had a great one bedroom villa on the ground floor looking towards the beach and the pool. The villa was not spectacular, but nice with stove, refrig, microwave and safe. Very quiet and relaxing. We were seconds from the pool and beach. Staff were very friendly especially the garden staff whom my wife had several conversations with about the fruit trees on the property. Price was reasonable. Access to shops was pretty good. Had a free shuttle to Whalers Village (local mall) and from Whalers Village a quick city bus ride takes you to Lahaina. Only thing I did not particularly like was the "concierge" for lack of a better term. Actually a salesman for a tour company. Already had our tours booked other places so was not particularly helpful when we asked questions. The actual front desk staff were much better.

We were in villa 234 in the Banyan building. Nice little place, had a small kitchen & living area with our own private lanai overlooking the gardens. The reason I gave it one less point was due to the shower. It was probably the worst shower head we have ever used. It took 3 full minutes to get all shampoo out of my hair. Yes I timed it, & my hair isn't long! Being there 7 nights with a horrible shower head really can affect your stay. We didn't use the pools or the gym. The laundry was good with enough machines - $2.50 per load. There was always plenty of parking. Staff were all great! Short walk to the beach & the beachwalk was great! We walked to & from Whalers Village a few times when it cooled down. Not too long a walk, but tough in the Summer heat. Your other option to Whalers is the free trolley but be aware that even though there is a timetable, he isn't always on time. The timetable even says he can be late up to 30 minutes I think! Overall, it was a great stay. Just a shame about the shower head!

Stayed at the Aston villas. Had a Rolex stolen out of the room. No safe available to store valuables. The staff was very poor. Have me a one page form and said they would call if the found it... No security available.
