I love this hotel, but...

travelforbiz66 (Broomfield, Colorado) on Apr 13, 2024

As the title states, I do love this hotel. But it a hotel is a 5 star hotel, all aspects of one's stay should reflect the rating. I arrived on Friday at 12:30pm. and did not expect my room to be ready as check-in is at 3 pm. 3pm came and went . I checked the status, and they were working on it. They had blocked me into a specific room. At 4:30, there is still no room. However, the young lady at the front desk, who was very pleasant, offered to give me an available room. The room was not ideal, and after 4 hours, it was my decision to wait a few a bit longer while they waited for the clean room to be released. Maybe I am asking too much, but if a room is blocked for someone who checked in at 12:30, wouldn't a 5 start property put a bit of urgency into getting the room ready? Then today, the safe in my room wouldn't open. I called at 3:40 pm for assistance. By 4 p.m., no one had arrived, and I spoke to the front desk, who said they would expedite the matter .At 445pm, I had to leave for dinner, and no one had come to assist me. I am here for 3 more days and hope this does not speak of things to come. Yes, the hotel is fully booked, but I don't see how this can be given as an excuse at a hotel that prides itself on being a 5 star property

Wynn it's time to go elsewere

HappyBobbi (Chapel Hill, North Carolina) on Apr 10, 2024

Had better past experiences at the Wynn. Usually, you can count on the experience of the Wynn's Tower Suites to be good. You are definitely paying for an upgrade in service - even more so than the Encore Tower Suites. Unfortunately, our experience did not match our expectations. The rooms are still spacious and have a luxury feel. Unfortunately the service from the front desk and concierge are sub-par. We had a surly receptionist who really seemed to not like her job, and not appreciate guests. I tried smiling, making a few jokes... she couldn't be bothered to make us feel welcomed and was very unhelpful. Pulling information from her was like pulling her teeth. I had mentioned in the reservation that we would be early (international flights coming in), but that while I did not expect the room to necessarily be ready on time, at least being ready for the check in time would have been nice. No smile, no apology... just out of her hands. I had double checked on the rooms (including names on the rooms) twice in the days prior. Regardless, it was a mess. And then our rooms were not ready at check in time. Instead of realizing that after a long international flight (from Japan - which I had mentioned when checking in) we would be tired and in need of our rooms, or at least an alternative, She told us to move aside and she would text us when the room was ready... the problem was there was no where in the reception to sit and we were exhausted (and traveling with my 88 year old grandmother). What happened to the great customer service of the past? Is it training? Was it us? Did she not like the way we looked? I feel that we were all dressed business casual and were not rowdy or rude. Likewise, the Tower Suites seems to have put a smoking section right be it's front desk (right next to the bar) in a way that you cannot avoid the strong smell and plumes of smoke. Sitting in the bar area at the Tower Suites used to be a nice experience - a way to avoid the loud, heavy crowds of the hotel's casino floor. Not so much anymore. A few years ago, I stopped staying at the Bellagio, preferring the Wynn's level of service and luxury. It might be time to revisit that move.
