    SURPRISE ROOM

    My wife and I booked this Non Refundable "Surprise Room" for only two nights. We arrived at the hotel at 3:30PM. They advised beforehand that checkin was 4:00PM. When we arrived, they said the room would be ready in "2 hours". I thought it was a joke. Thinking, now we don't have a room until 5:30PM. Okay, we just arrived in Cabo for the first time, and we decided to be patient and go have a drink down near the beach. Reception said they would come get us once our room was ready. They never came to get us. We phoned form pool bar and the room was ready. When we got to the room we were advised that it was not ready. We never saw that room. The bellman went back to reception and they assigned us another room. Bellman came back and led us to the new "surprise room". He opened the door and we walked in to a room full of other guests belongings. No one was there, but you know what I am about to say.... that could have been awkward! No we have been waiting 90 minutes for a room. We returned to reception and asked for the Manager. Their response and resolution to this problem was terrible. We sat in lobby just waiting. We asked several times, "what is going on?" . They were not professional. They seemed disorganized. We had the be at a function at 5:30Pm, so with no room we left our luggage with the bellman and departed to our function. We NEVER checked in and they did not fulfill the "Surprise Room, Non Refundable" contract. BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN BOOKING NON REFUNDABLE . THEY CAN SCAM YOU AND TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT DELIVER YOU A ROOM OR ACCOMMODATIONS that you are hoping for, or in our case, nothing at all. Follow up: We made 4 calls to the manager to resolve this issue and they ignored us on every attempt. PLEASE AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COST. The worst travel experience we have ever had! Management of this hotel should be ashamed of their actions in treating us in this manner. Truly disappointed beyond belief.

    Not as good as it used to be

    We have been owners at Hacienda Encantada since 2013. Each year we visit and love the area and the amenities. Miguel at the Phase I pool was fantastic. He paid attention to our every need. The rooms were clean but missing drinkware, a shower head dripped rather than streamed and the pool on our balcony was frigid. We tried calling and there was never an answer. When reported to the front desk, a report was typed into their computer but nobody ever arrived at our room. The restaurants are overpriced and they all require a 24-hr reservation now and the food quality is not near as good as the Cabo town restaurants. It would be nice to be able to "land" somewhere after your day without having to make plans so far in advance. The onsite store is outrageously expensive. Be sure to make a trip to Walmart if you want groceries in your room. If your a guest, not an owner, you'll be treated better. They want you to buy! Good luck :)

    We recently spent 6 nights at HE in Phase 2 on the fourth floor in a one-bedroom suite (Room 4263) which was massive and well appointed. Loved having the second bathroom and also the double patio. Just beautiful! The food was wonderful, some of the best we've experienced with an all-inclusive plan. We were most impressed with the quality/selections at the adults-only pool. Top notch! One choice was better than the next. Definite stand-outs were the coconut shrimp and the freshly-made sushi rolls. We really enjoyed every ala carte evening meal (with the exception of Valentine's dinner at Los Risco - ran out of their special menu entrees and literally took 35 minutes to get water/wine - just an off night). The breakfast buffet was fresh and delicious each morning. The Calzones at El Patio were delish! I could go on and on. You won't be disappointed with the food. Plus don't forget all the options down at the Marina! It's a win-win when using the free shuttle included in the all-inclusive package. All the staff was very friendly. Great service at every turn. Housekeeping did a superb job every day! The grounds and gardens are well manicured and beautiful. The pools were clean and warm. We saw many whales during our stay - bonus! If you're looking for nightly entertainment, this isn't your place. It's pretty quiet at night. It was fine with us though because we're early risers. We loved our stay at Hacienda Encantada and would definitely return. It was cumbersome to have to sign for each purchase but we got used to it after a few days. Just be sure to know what's included and what's an extra charge. My husband ordered a drink at the Vista bar (not knowing it wasn't included) and we were charged $36 for that single drink. OUCH!! Good job, Hacienda. God willing, we will return soon!!

    A WONDERFUL REPRIEVE FROM THE DAILY...

    We flew to Cabo for the Valentine's Day weekend. We stayed at the Hacienda Encantada and found it completely breathtaking! We had an all-inclusive package, which included restaurants on, and off, the property, No matter which restaurant you chose on hotel property, you were surrounded by the beautiful ocean. The rooms had soft and fluffy bedding, which for me, is VERY important. We had a Bellman named Roman. Roman gave us the most awesome attention! He managed to assist us at every turn and we fully appreciate him!

    Guillermo, Trinidad and the staff anticipated and took care of our every need. However, we had multiple issues with accommodations; we booked (and paid for) a 4 bedroom Villa Residence and were switched to a 4 bedroom in Vista Encantada. Very unsatisfactory.The villas are stand-alone residences with their own private pool with swim up bar, hot tub, BBQ, and fire pit. Vista is basically a 4 bedroom hotel room. No sunshine ever came into the rooms. In addition, there is no noise insulation, so we heard every movement above us from 6:00AM to beyond 10:00PM - and later. They moved us for our second week to a villa, but we had to move back to Vista for our third week. Very inconvenient, although Trinidad made it as easy as it could be under the circumstances.Management credited the overpayment after MUCH discussion and many visits. When we went to pay our bill, no one was aware of the credit arrangement and it took another 48 hours to settle it. The help is very nice, but no one seems to know what is really happening. The man who made our reservations - on JULY 1 - told us with absolute certainty what we were booking the 4 bedroom villa... and when we got there, we were told we were not allowed to book that accommodation.... Very frustrating. If it were not for Trinidad, Guillermo (and Giovanni) it would have been even more frustrating than it was. The property is gorgeous and the views are wonderful... they just need to be more organized and everyone should be on the same page.
