We are currently in resort and disappointed with the service we have, the hotel has been sold to Margaritaville and TUI will not be entering into contract, tonight the hotel has apparently ran out of gin as well as tonic water. The staff are absolutely superb but we get the feeling as the hotel has been sold the management don't care. Little things like cracked and broken walkways not being repaired the toiletries in rooms not being replaced, not being able to get bottled water at any point apart from the 2 small bottles left in your room, small things but not what you pay an extortionate amount of money for. Second visit to the hotel and severely disappointed, come on management get your act together.

    I WILL BE BACK!

This resort is a bit smaller than the Karisma resorts we've visited in Mexico, but the beaches are absolutely first class. Romms were comfortable. Pools clean. There's only a few restaurants with full waitservice, and these require reservations days in advance. Restaurants and bars also experienced occasional shortages of ingrediants. Staff were wonderful, warm, and friendly. Our butlers, Aldray and Kemora, checked in with us multiple times per day and worked hard to make any and all arrangements. Nicole and Stephany in the Asian restaurant were fabulous as was Dwayne in the Indigo bar. General Manager was very visible, making sure things were in order. We'd certainly return.

I booked this having visited two Sensatori resorts previously, so I was expecting the same high standards, far from it... The resort was, and still is, being marketed as a Sensatori resort, however I was told TUI are pulling out of the partnership due to the hotel being unable to produce the required standards. Mid-2020 the hotel will no longer be a Sensatori, it will become a Margaritaville party hotel, and it seems standards are already dropping to suit the upcoming rebrand. This has been confirmed to me by the GM of the hotel. The good points: Check-in - we were given room numbers and access cards on the coach transfer, we were given a welcome drink and a canape and offered a refreshing towel before being shown to the room on arrival at the resort. The beach - the beach and accompanying views are spectacular. You will be immediately taken back by it on arrival from the open plan lobby. A la carte dining - the Italian and Asian restaurants were both very nice, we had good service, although we ate later on in the evening (8:30-9:00 sittings) after the busy periods. Evening entertainment - the evening entertainment was better than expected, especially the Silver Birds Steel band. The TUI rep - Hannah was great, despite numerous complaints from us and others we were always greeted with a smile, we were always asked if she could help us with anything and it was appreciated that she acknowledged and agreed with the hotel short-comings. Special thanks for sourcing some hair bobbles for my partner. The staff - some of the staff were very good an deserve a special mention; Antoinette, Shinelle, Damien, Craig, Vidal (shot master), Adrian, Sheryl from the bar staff. Nicolas and Shanice from the entertainments team. Orlando and Mister T the lifeguards. Shawn the towel boy. And a very special thanks to Aneita from the bar team, who also hosts the rum tasting, she was the only member of service staff to give us 5* service throughout our stay, if she saw our drinks were low she'd make another without prompt, even if she was waiting tables for evening entertainment and wasn't on the bar she'd make sure we had a drink. Thanks, you were a star. The bad points: The room - the room was small compared to other Sensatori/5* resorts I've stayed at. The wardrobe is in the bathroom, there is no form of air extraction so clothes felt damp. One pair of canvas espadrilles became mouldy during our stay! The air-conditioning leaked heavily on day 2. There is no sound-proofing so road noise and other rooms noise is easily heard, toilets here sound like plane toilets and can be heard flushing from all surrounding rooms. However, the shower was very good. Hotel disrepair - the hotel is generally OK but needs a refurbishment, flaking paint on buildings, broken pathways, leaking a/c, rusting fixtures in the bathroom and decking that springs low enough to trip on the next plank to name a few. The power would often trip out for a few seconds most days and the water would go off most days during our second week, I noticed that once water was restored that the pressure was very low compared to previous. The 'Mini-bar' - the mini bar as advertised is non-existent, there is a small fridge in the room that has four tins of Red Stripe, two bottles of water and six soft drinks. This doesn't cater for anyone who doesn't like beer, and i would class this as false advertising. Replenishment is sporadic at best, we had to call and request water on numerous occasions. The maid - the room is refreshed everyday, as long as the sign is left on the door handle. The standard varied throughout our stay from piles of dirt/sand being missed, having to request more toilet tissue (no replenishment after 3 days) to returning to the room one evening to find stained bedding had been put on the bed. The vanity kits (containing all important ear buds after swimming) wasn't replaced for 8 days until we complained about it. We had no towel art/animals during our entire stay, I had one everyday at other Sensatori stays. Stock levels - the hotel was short of stock of numerous things during our stay, from basic hotel consumables to more specific items. We were advised at the welcome meeting to try the patties from the pool food outlet 'Oceans Gourmet Corner', they were out of stock for 6 days from our arrival, and then out of stock again most days after this. The same outlet would often be out of menu items such as Calamari, Jerk Pork and Grilled Cheese Sandwich, despite only offering a limited menu anyway. The bar would run out of tonic water on a bi-daily basis, as well as on differing occasions running out of Red Stripe, Malibu, Wray and Nephew, Cranberry, Grey Goose, mint for mojitos and tomato juice. Room service - we ordered room service once, it took one hour to be delivered despite being 01:00 at the time of ordering. Another time we tried to order and were told room service was unavailable due to the rain! Surely this is the time most people would want to order room service!? Drinks service - I was served a grand total of 2 drinks to my sunbed during a 14 day stay. At previous Sensatori stays I'd get this service all day, everyday. I even got service to my swim-up balcony previously! Reservation system - you are required to book a table at the Italian and Asian restaurants with the concierge up to 48 hours in advance. Whenever we ate at either restaurant they were half empty. We asked at the Italian a couple of times if we could have a table for 2 with no reservation but we told no, despite seeing 10 empty tables inside. The problem is people makes reservations and it rains so they stay in their rooms, or they get delayed on excursions and don't make the reservation. I feel a first come first served system for tables under a certain number of people, say 4, should be adopted. With larger groups still required to reserve. At other Sensatori resorts a buzzer was handed to you to wait at the bar whilst in the queue for a table. Dining options - the Sensatori/Gourmet dining theme would suggest plenty of dining options but the resort is lacking in options for dining. Breakfast is limited to the 2 buffets, lunch at the buffets, pool outlet or Garfields. At other Sensatori resorts different restaurants are open for a la carte breakfast and lunch on certain days. Ackee restaurant has a perfect location for sunset dining but is severely let down by the menu and lack of choice, four starters and six mains is a sample menu, not a full a la carte menu for a restaurant in a 5* hotel. We went once, as did most others we spoke to about it. The resort should for me have a Jamaican/international cuisine restaurant and one other. The lack of restaurants, combined with the reservation system, limits people to eating evening meals from the buffet, which is far from the 'Gourmet Exclusive' paid for. Garfield's is open some evenings, but was prestige only when we tried to get in. Our dining info paperwork said the Italian and Asian were both closed on the same night, meaning we had no option but to eat at the buffet, given Ackee is so poor. Poor info - we were given a printout with our welcome pack containing dining info, restaurants are closed on certain nights etc, as well as activities such as sunset rum tasting. We arrived on a Wednesday evening, the paperwork said sunset rum tasting was the following day at 17:30, we, as well as others, got showered and changed early to attend this but were told it had happened at 14:00 earlier that day. The info we'd been given 24 hours earlier was already outdated. The same printout said both the Italian and Asian are closed on Sundays, yet sitting at the Amber bar on a Sunday the Italian was full of people! The TUI app is seemingly kept more up to date than paperwork, although they have no problem shutting a late bar if numbers are low. Indigo bar was closed one evening when we walked down there, it was 22:30 when we arrived, the evening event had only started at 22:00! Specific issues - these are limited issues specific to our stay but worth mentioning. On our first morning another tourist let himself in to our room, he said he'd just checked in and was given this room by reception, we been checked in to this room approx 16 hours by this point. The same day the air conditioning sprung a major leak, soaking a suitcase and leaving a large puddle across most of the room. Later the same day my partner returned to the room to get showered and changed for an evening meal to find someone's vomit coming up out the drain under the sink area! She complained to reception and joined us for another drink, after this drink I went to see if it had been resolved, it hadn't. I complained at reception again. We went up over an hour later to find it had been cleaned up but there was still a strong odour of vomit in the bathroom! The hotel is not up to 5* standards, it is prepped and ready to become a party hotel and is seemingly on wind down to this. The staff are brilliant and given they speak English it easy to build up a rapport and have a joke/bond with them. It was discovered that during our stay the staff had not been paid, they deserve better and hopefully this is now all resolved. The fellow tourists we met, along with friendly staff, made our holiday. Despite the issues with the hotel we consider it a good holiday, some of the complaints may seem trivial but it is these extra elements of service and options that we are charged the extra for for the Sensatori and Gourmet experience(s). In summary, the location is amazing, the beach and views are stunning but it is let down by the bit next to it. If you want the Sensatori experience or Gourmet Exclusive treatment then this is not the place for you. If it is rebranded/repriced before TUI pull out next summer then give it a try.

I am here now.....with that being said I do not want to leave. Life is way to short to nit pick on silly minor things. It is absolutely beautiful here. The staff is what makes this place beyond great. The hardest workers I have encountered always with a smile. My room is great, my mini fridge is great, even the noise. I can list a million other things great but how long do you really want this review?!?!? I will definitely be back TO THIS RESORT!!!!! I have two more days here and will definitely make the most of it
