Love the old world charm

Can not say enough good about couples swept away! First this was my second visit and my children's third time staying at couples. They are both experienced divers and they love the fact they can dive two to three times a day at no additional cost. Most all inclusive resorts charge an additional $150 per dive. The dive people are excellent and know exactly what they are doing. The snorkeling was great also. Went twice and each time was a different spot. Even though covid precautions were carefully handled at the resort, none of us felt really hindered in doing any thing we wanted to do. We love the old world charm of couples swept away. We do not do the after hours drinking and partying. We just love the relaxed atmosphere. We did attend the repeaters dinner and was blown away with the menu. After that fantastic meal we felt we did not need to go to Feathers. The food was as good as always and the staff excellent also. We did find out that one can tip a favorite employee. Remember their name and what area they work and when you checkout to leave you can leave a cash tip in a sealed envelope for that special person. If you tack it on to your credit card it goes into the general tip fund and divided by all employees. We were pleased to find this out and tipped our favorites generously. Even though i was a single traveling with my son and wife, i never felt out of place. We will definitely be returning to Couples Swept away. I was very impressed with how they handled our covid testing for our return to the US at no additional charge. Thanks Couples Swept Away for another wonderful vacation.
Amazing resort with top accommodations, food and activities

My husband and I have been to a number of resorts in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. I can honestly say, this has become our favorite. We loved Jamaica and the Jamaican people. They made us very welcome and we felt very safe. There is something intangible about this resort, a feeling of genuine caring. Perhaps it has to do with their "No Tipping" policy. But, it feels very gracious. All the restaurants but one were open air which was fantastic! Even when it rained, which it did a couple afternoons, it was fun to be able to enjoy the open air. We've been used to tipping with every meal, every drink, every excursion. But, at Couples Swept Away, the staff won't accept a tip, they're not allowed to. The fitness facility is the best we've ever experienced. We especially loved the Yoga and Pickleball. The resort was only about 30% full but the services and food quality were not diminished. Big shout out to Couples!
Excellent Property and Staff

There is only one word to describe my stay …. EXCELLENT!!! I have stayed at other resorts across the island and particularly in Negril. Hands down …. best experience ever and best beach in Negril ... so clean with large expanse of white sand. There was no shortage of beach chairs and swimming spots. The property was gorgeous, with lots of green space … not the typical commercial hotel feel. We selected the Great House Ocean Suite which had an amazing view of the beach … great spot to watch the sunset and enjoy a glass of complimentary wine. The only thing better than the property was the staff … they were so welcoming, helpful and friendly. Noteworthy mentions include Deston Smith from guest services who made sure we had our dinner reservations upon checking in and gave us good advice on timings based on our activities. Ovado from watersports is also worth mentioning. We went to sign up for the glass bottom boat, and though the time had passed, proactively suggested other activities to try and offered to take us out on the hobbie-cat. Another noteworthy experience was the kitchen staff at The Palms …. Christopher who made sure that we were able to get ackee and slat-fish though they did not have it on the menu for that day. WILL BE BACK!!!

This was our first time to Jamaica and I can honestly say that I don't know if I will ever set foot in Hawaii or Mexico again. We live on the West Coast, but the extra travel time is worth it. I could go on and on, but suffice it to ay that the beach was great, the food amazing, and the staff so wonderful. Yes, it is true that at times the staff could be a little slow on some minor things, but you come to quickly recognize that it isn't out of laziness or lack of caring, rather it is simply that people are on "Island time". What they lack in urgency they more than make up in friendliness, sense of humor, and genuine humanity. Julian in water sports was such a great and interesting captain of our snorkel trip...very knowledgeable and engaging and a constant source of teaching me "Patois" slang. Shane in grounds keeping was a joy every morning on whom to practice my slang. Blazing Piano Night in the Aura Lounge was so much fun! The pianist was top notch and the singer 'Princess" was AMAZING. The housekeeping was so always so great and again, the food was crazy good. If you like to work out then this is the place for you. Great weights, racquet ball, squash, fresh juice bar, tennis etc.......Not to mention the FREE water skiing and scuba diving. I will stop now...I could write a book about how great this place was. We will be going back EVERY YEAR that we draw breath upon this Earth.
Great Vacation! Some improvement needed, but would return!

We had a great time at Couples Swept Away! We booked this resort after going to Sandals Ochi about 6 years ago and loving Jamaica. We were excited to try Negril for the sunsets, and to try one of Sandal’s competitors because we had such an amazon experience at Sandals. Overall, Sandals “dazzled” us with their drinks, service, restaurant, and romantic private-vibe. Couples Swept Away felt a little more like “Home” - a little less flashy, a little less luxurious, but comfortable, charming, and fun. And it’s without a doubt the best beach we’ve seen in our lives. When we did the Tiki Pon Da Sea, we got to see many of the other resorts from the water (including Sandals, Beaches, Royalton, Couples Negril) and we felt like Couples Swept Away hands down had the best beach set up and was situated in the best spot. We talked to a couple on the boat with us who were staying at Sandals Negril and they were not raving about it - saying they had had some issues. We felt super comfortable with our choice in staying at CSA and if we ever return to Negril, we’d definitely stay there again! I do think there’s some room for improvement, however! Here are some notes on various aspects of the resort: The Beach - Unbelievable. Truly the definition of a powder sand beach. Every day we could not get over how stunning the water was. Yes, there are beach vendors. These people are just trying to make a living. Be kind, bring some small bills to tip the musicians, and buy a bracelet or two. No problem, mon. And just tell the people trying to sell Marijuana “WE DONT SMOKE” and they will leave you alone, or offer you brownies. Whatever, it’s part of the culture. Food/Restaurants - The resort advertises having 6 restaurants. This is really more like 2 snack bars and 4 restaurants. The lunch options (Cabana Bar, Seagrapes, Palms) while we were there may have been limited because of Covid and things not being open fully. We felt like the food at the Cabana Bar wasn’t very good. Neither Seagrapes or Cabana had anything special to it or its service, but we had a view of the perfect water and were fed so no big deal. We were only able to get reservations at Feathers and Lemongrass one time each which was a bummer because they were both delicious. We went to Patois Patio 3 times though and were never disappointed. The Palms food was good too (buffet was okay - at breakfast I just stuck to the omelette maker. Lunch and Dinner had a good a pretty good menu). Resort Overall: The grounds are so lush and beautiful! I don’t think you could choose a bad room as they all felt so tropical when walking around the resort. As for the restaurants/common areas, some areas seemed a little dated. There could be some updates in the Palms area in particular and the piano bar. The palms area is the main buffet, entertainment, and the area with the martini bar and Lemon Grass as well. It just looks outdated and needs some pizazz. I have mainly traveled to all inclusives in Mexico and I feel like they have all had these really great lobby bars and main areas where people congregate. This resort was missing this a little bit. Also some better signage in the buildings would be awesome. We had to ask people where certain bars and restaurants were. Service: Some staff were awesome and friendly. Others seemed disinterested. With staff wearing masks it was hard to tell if people were smiling, so that could contribute to it not feeling as warm and friendly as some other resorts I’ve been to. While the resort policy is “NO TIPPING” and it’s made clear, we had many encounters that made us feel like staff were waiting for a tip. For example, someone came up to our verandah and asked if we wanted a coconut to try fresh coconut water. This was awesome! But he kept hinting about how he climbed up the tree for us and then hung around as if waiting for a tip. If this resort had a different policy, I would have come with a ton of singles and tipped along the way, but since it did not, I did not do that. It just kind of left you with a funny feeling of “wait… should I be tipping this person? Am I a jerk?” Additionally, many staff members tried to sell us pot when we first arrived. This didn’t last much more than the first day as I think they determined that we did not smoke, but I was surprised the Couples staff was trying to sell it - not just the vendors at the beach. Drinks: The martini bar was fun and had a great menu! The mixed drinks were fine - nothing special. We wished our mini bar was restocked regularly because really we just wanted to be drinking the Red Stripe! Also, the wine wasn’t bad - they had Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and even Sauvignon Blanc - this is a huge plus compared to other resorts I’ve been to! Entertainment: The entertainment was awesome! Every night (and even breakfast sometimes too!) there was live music - steel drum, acoustic, whatever. It was all great. There were no hokey Michael Jackson shows or whatever like you see in many other all-inclusives - just nice music! The beach bonfire was lovely - nice music and really relaxing. We also LOVED the Silver Birds. Also, we loved the Catamaran ride and couldn’t believe it was included in the price of our stay. It took us to the Caves resort where we jumped out and got to swim in the caves! So awesome! Rooms: We stayed in the Beachfront Verandah Suite on the first level. It was perfect and really gave us the “wow factor” at this resort. We were steps from the beach. In the evenings, we’d walk out to watch the sunset on the beach then finish our drinks on our verandah and head to dinner. Doesn’t get much better than that! TIki Pon Da Sea: We did this excursion and loved it. It was fun, authentic, and unlike anything we’ve done anywhere else. Highly recommend!!! Overall, the beach, entertainment, included catamaran ride, and delicious dinners made this a spot we’d return to!
