Family Spring Break Trip
Reviewed by lifeonvication() on Apr 16, 2021
Moon Palace Jamaica never disappoints me. I came here four years ago with a larger group and the service was even more impeccable than the last. This trip offered the perfect amount of relaxation and adventure, and with the pandemic still happening, the hotel took a great amount of precautions to make sure that the guests remained safe. In the diamond cabanas, my family and I were served by the most attentive and helpful Ordains, Stacey, Nikeisha, and Athea. They made sure we were satisfied and replenished with food and drink. Omar, the churro chef, remembered to come see us everyday and we were sad when we missed him on our last day. Davoy was the best server in the buffet, I look forward to seeing him again next time. Donavan gave us the best tips on experiencing local treasures and telling us where the best fruits were. Paul, the sommelier, found us everyday to make sure we had the right wine to pair with our food. His attention to detail was superb. Andre served us in Gondola, as well as Daniel in Pier 8, and Sabrina right outside. Chef Shane served a great teppanyaki meal, and Sojay did an amazing job serving us. Dadrian was our last server of the trip and he was amazing; his service and passion for his job will be remembered (Momo). Johnoy at the gym taught a cycling class for me and my family and made sure we got some sweat in. Rosino and Roshin met us will smiles and great desserts at the 24/7 cafe. Sherene, the bell lady, was careful and prompt in picking up our luggage for check out. The service and personality of the employees at Moon Palace Jamaica was the best service I have ever had. I look forward to returning to this hotel to meet them all again and learn about Jamaican culture.
I Really Wanted to Like This Place

I truly though that Moon Palace would be a great luxury stay. Don't be fooled by the pictures. It's a nice hotel, but not luxury. Everything about this hotel is hit or miss. It's beautiful to look at. The location is great. The food in the buffet is subpar at best while the restaurants have better (not great) food. The jerk pork at the jerk hut is great but the jerk chicken...ehhh. (I'm Jamaican, so trust me it's not a spice thing). The staff is also very wishy washy. I had to call to get our room re-serviced often because it wasn't done well. The mini bar which is supposed to be refilled at 10am didn't get refilled until 6 p.m. OFTEN because they just didn't come even after being called several time. I raised my issues to the front desk several times and all they gave was a curt "i'm sorry." As far as the room, the room and bathrooms were much smaller than any all inclusive resort, I've stayed at in the Caribbean. The balcony was nothing to write home about. The hotel has pretty good amenities and I probably would visit again at a lower price point but it definitely wouldn't be my first choice in Jamaica.
Customer relations

If you're a party of more than two people coming in covid time and someone in Mexico said everyone gets a free covid test. Please get that in writing! That happened to me when I went to Jamaica Moon Palace. The representative said she would called the general manager to clarify, but head of security came instead and said he needs proof. My wife and I stood on hold waiting for a customer service from Mexico for about an hour. I told the rep that finally answered about the situation, he was not accommodating at all, I told him we will do a review of this incident, and he said ok go ahead, bye. I am just looking in terms of. customer relations, they dont care once they have your money, it is what it is. The customer is not always right in their eyes! Not telling you not to go to moon Palace just make sure that whatever you are told verbally also get it in writing as well.
Deceptive customer service??
Reviewed by simonepQ5346TI() on Apr 14, 2021
Very deceptive, do not believe what they tell you online. Get all conversations and discussion of events and what is covered in writing. Spend your money on a membership that cares about their customers after they get their money. This is not the one if you want quality customer service when booking or experiencing issues with your reservation.
Great even during Covid!

We went for two weeks Feb 21 - March 7, 2021 and again April 2-9. The first trip had the best weather, and we had a wonderful time. The second trip was to take our daughter, son-in-law and grandson for Spring break. The weather was mostly cloudy with some wind which caused some excursions on the water to be cancelled. but the resort helped us reschedule most of them. As a result we spent more time at the Awe Spa, which is always wonderful. We were happy to see that many of the resort employees have been able to come back to work whom we have enjoyed in previous visits. We were especially happy to see Princess and Orlando back to work in the restaurants we enjoy.
