    Travel during Covid when cleaning should be a priority!! It looks like the hallways haven’t been vacuumed in weeks. Carpets were dirty and littered. There’s a gaping hole in one hallway wall with open pipes and it’s plugged with a filthy washcloth. It looks like this on several floors. My hotel room smells musty unless I crank the air down to 65. Staff is friendly. That’s the only good thing.

    You get what you pay for...

    There is a reason the rates are so low! You get exactly what you pay for. There are rips in the couch, chips of paint missing on the window sill, trash in the hallways, grimy mold on the bathroom door hinges, dust on basically every piece of furniture... on top of that the bathroom literally sounded like it was trying to flush the entire evening, even though the water in the bowl was still and the handle was up. It was so annoying but at least you couldn’t hear it if you shut the bathroom door. The pro of this hotel is that the rooms are VERY spacious and large. Tons of space to move around in the standard king room. A couch, a desk, a coffee table, and also an arm chair and foot rest in addition to the bed, dresser, and end tables. It’s also very helpful that the lamps on the tables have an outlet right at the base so you don’t have to fumble around on the wall. Also, there is a safe, fridge, small microwave, and coffee maker! Additionally, there is TONS of parking BUT they do charge you $17 a night for it. The pet charge is listed online as $75 but was only $50 on our bill. There is a small dog park in the back which was super nice for us but the grass was so tall and thick that it was hard to move around in for both myself and my dog. Tiffeney was nice at the front desk but not in any type of uniform so that was a bit confusing at first. We asked for a view of the back parking lot if possible (to watch our car and Uhaul) and she said “okay”. We got up to our room (from the elevator that had pieces of wood missing all over the floor), and it was facing the complete opposite side of the property. Oh well, not the biggest deal. She was extremely polite throughout our whole interaction! There is a bucket of clean pens to use and a second bucket to put after it’s been touched, so that’s helpful for COVID. Definitely won’t be back to this hotel.

    I am trying to figure out how to not be slanderous in my review of this property . So I'll just state my observations. I know this is the Covid era but the rooms could be vacuumed after the last guest checked out. The bath room floors could be mopped after the last guests checked out. The ketchup could be wiped off the bathroom doors after the last guests checked out. All this can be done using Social distancing . The light fixture that caught fire on the 4th floor on 7/20. Yup needed a fire extinguisher to put a little icing on this piece of ??. Holiday Inn and IHG should be ashamed. It's convenient to the park and it should be something corporate should be proud of . Well maybe they will vacuum the hallway to clean up the fire extinguisher dust . Oh the front staff was nice .

    The pictures online look great. The hotel is in a great location if you’re going to universal. There’s even a TGI Friday’s attached. The room itself wasn’t bad, the lobby was nice but the hallways to the rooms the carpet looks to not have been cleaned in 20 years. The elevator flooring is chipped & missing chunks leaving exposed wood. The walls in the hallways, the paint is awful as well as guest room doors, most with scuffs, missing paint. Some deep cleaning and paint would do this hotel a world of difference. My picture is one of the cleanest areas. There’s stains everywhere you walk. The hallways aren’t very welcoming.

    We booked this place because of the great location and the price. I was expecting the hotel to be subpar because the price was so low considering it’s within walking distance of Universal Studios. However, upon arriving we were greeted warmly and given appropriate accommodations for Covid-19. The lobby is equipped with plastic sneeze guards and they offer sanitized pens for you to sign with. When we got into the room, it unfortunately smelled a bit like smoke. So, we went to ask if we could have another room. The gentleman at guest services apologized, and upgraded us to a suite with no charge! The new room was sparkling clean and smelled very fresh. This is definitely a place we will be booking again in the future.
