We spent most of our time at the kids pool. It was impossible to get any service. The first day we called a pool manager, which only made the staff more mad at us. The next 4 days was impossible to get a drink or food service. We had to go up and order at bar. Time for our drinks and chicken nuggets took an 1.5 hours! The kids playroom was a joke. Doesn't seem like anyone likes kids at all. Put our kids in there first day, not one of them wanted to go back the entire stay. The hotel rooms were very old and outdated. The carpets had bubbles in them. We stay at the Fairmont in Maui and the service was impeccable. I would not stay at the Princess in AZ again. Not worth the money. Needs a facelift and new management!

Staff was great at La Hacienda, Sunset Beach pool, golf cart staff was great and Ironwood Restaurant staff was great. All else was lacking. Hotel is under construction. No price break and no notification. Rooms sub par. Way overpriced for what it is. Worst beds I have maybe ever slept on. Main family area was freezing. Bedroom boiling hot. Don’t waste your money.

    Amazing Christmas Experience

PROS: Stayed for a weekend with two children for the Christmas festivities. Lovely resort and great service. What was most amazing was swimming in the pool with a sandy beach under the palms by day and that night sledding down an icy slide under a beautiful full moon. Wonderful shops and restaurants. Ice skating also. The children loved the train ride around the resort where they displayed over 4.5 million Christmas lights. They also loved S'Mores Land and the Ferris Wheel. CONS: Once we were finished with festivities and it was time for the children to bathe, no matter how hard I tried I could not get the tub faucet to turn on. It was jammed. I had to call the front desk and eventually they did send maintenance to repair it. However, by that time the children had passed out dirty. Also, the Santa Photo attraction-after paying $60 for digital photos we still haven't received pictures. Even tried to print them at a local photo shop and the results were blurred. That is too expensive and we are still waiting to hear from the company.

Excellent resort with a lot of amenities to offer. The beds were super comfy & the pillows. The hotel staff were all exceptionally helpful & friendly. Concierge were all super in every way. The pools were all wonderful & we really enjoyed both the Sunset Beach & the pool with the slides. The pool staff came by frequently & gave us good service.

This would be a 5 star review if not for the renovation currently underway. We were greeted at the entrance by the awesome bell staff. The lobby is very open and welcoming. We arrived well before standard check in time, and were greeted by Casey at the front desk. She very graciously welcomed us to the property, and gave us a good rundown of where to find things. I would never of guessed that she was new to the job and industry! We were put up in a casita. Room was very nice and very large. After settling in we went to the main restaurant for Breakfast. Ask for Marco, he is a very kind and patient waiter and the food was very good. My wife did not care for the chorizo but that is a matter of taste! Be sure to check out the roses, they are large and spectacular. In regards to the renovations, we were warned ahead of time they would be ongoing. It is clear that the hotel is doing everything possible to minimize the interference but it is noticeable , and necessary.
