    We had a wonderful time here. The entire staff was very friendly & accommodating. The restaurant served good food overlooking the golf course. The pool had a long, lazy river & we floated in it for a few hours since it was so hot outside. The water slide was one of the better slides that we have been on at a resort. Dog friendly hotel with lovely grounds to walk our new puppy. Highly recommended. Steve Concialdi

    After a wonderful 4-day stay at Fairmont, we moved to Westin (downgraded) thinking that this would be a real treat for the kids. I was extremely disappointed. Not only the hotel is ordinary and not that luxurious as Fairmont, but it only has One swimming pool. The lazy river they have is extremely slow and boring, the slide is just ok compared to the two very fast and fun slides that Farimont has. Plus, the lazy river and slides close at 4:00. But the real problem is that they seemed to care a lot about face covering and 6-feet distancing, however, they’ve closed the adult pool, thus everyone in the hotel is crammed in one small pool, right next to each other. Fairmont has 6 open pools, we probably don’t need that many, but if they had at least 2, the only open pool they have wouldn’t be this crowded. If they care about people, like they profess they do, why would they close the other pool and let people be jammed in a small pool, the only option? if you want people to not get Covid-19 then please open the adult pool so that people won’t have to be standing right next to a bunch of people because there’s zero place to move. It’s that crowded.

    I have stayed at this hotel many times and this was my first hotel visit during COVID-19. I talked to the hotel staff and knew the pool would be open, but the restaurants and main bar would be limited. I think this was good because I didn’t not want to be around big crowds. The staff was helpful and the hotel looked very clean. We stayed Tuesday to Saturday and that timeframe was good because it started getting busier Friday afternoon. There was breakfast at the restaurant downstairs and by the golf course you can purchase drinks, fruit, and breakfast sandwiches. There are many restaurants to walk to that are close by in Kierland Commons. Our room was very clean and we were happy with the view of the golf course. By Friday we could get drinks at the bar downstairs from 5-9. I appreciated all of the steps the hotel was taking to make things safe during this pandemic. All of the staff and many of the guests wore masks in common areas and there was hand sanitizer in many areas.The elevators were quick and it was easy to avoid getting in with other people. The coffee shop employee was great and the hotel shop has a lot of snacks and drinks. This was not a typical time to travel and the hotel staff made us feel safe and comfortable. My husband and son enjoyed golfing twice during our stay as well. We came from a state with a lot of restrictions and we were happy to be able to get away to the Kierland and not feel stressed.

    Definitely not the same (post covid) but still relaxing and fun!

    We decided to come visit again to get away from the crazy shut down! We arrived in a Saturday night to find out the information we had been given on the phone was incorrect! When we called to book we were told everything was open at the resort and they were only allowing 50%capacity. Sounds like a win less peeps is always good! Not the case! No restaurants were open at all, fitness center, gift shop, main pool, restaurant downstairs all CLOSED! Disappointing to say the least! The package I purchased said discount breakfast vouchers were included. When I asked about that they said breakfast is not an option. Sunday, only the adult pool was open with half of it blocked off for lap swimming. Everyone staying at the hotel had to use that one pool, which worked out fine. Monday the adult pool was closed and the everybody pool opened with the lazy river and slide opening from 12-4, which was nice, it was like having a pool to ourselves! Because there are no good options Starbucks in the hotel stays busy... a huge shout out to the sweet lady there! She’s by herself and stays busy all day long, sad I didn’t catch her name. Another HUGE asset to the place is Jennie at the pool! She was by herself getting drinks, snacks for e wry one at the pool! Legit never stopped! Amazing worker, I hope they pay her very well & recognize all that she does for them! In the end it’s good that Kierland commons was open for dinners! I love this place, don’t love covid (obviously) but understand that things have to change and hopefully Westin figures out a new plan for guests and their workers!

    If you ever wanted this beautiful resort to yourself, now is the time. If you have any doubts about staying here during the pandemic, it is clean and safe. The owner is only allowing 20 percent of the rooms to be sold. All but 17 staff members have been furloughed. All valet and bell staff are gone for the time being. The cafe is open for food and all other bars and eateries are closed. Parking is free until business picks up and the rooms were very, very clean. Rates were down from high season and I was so happy to return for a visit. I was a little uneasy to take a trip but never felt more relaxed once we arrived. The front desk was operating the desk and phones. They were so kind and accommodating. If you are elite, they allow a $19 credit per person each day for breakfast. The property is beautiful as usual and the lazy river is being updated (major rehab) and will open June 12. If you are yearning for a safe place to take a visit, put this place on your list (no I do not work for Marriott). Most restaurants in the area are open for take out and delivery. They are not at the next stage yet.
