10/10. Food is was so good, BBQ tacos were the best dish our table ordered. Oscar & Rigcardo were very kind & attentive, they also served us welcome drinks which tasted delicious. Best food all week, and such a beautiful restaurant. Thank you for the great meal.

Just back from one week stay April 2-9. Property itself a bit dated and a bad odor in elevators (stagnant water?). Room smelled like mildew, was very basic, but clean. Very nice housekeeping staff.All staff very kind and helpful. Very hard working folks and very attentive. Massages great, nice beach area but water too cold to swim. Pool area was clean and chairs and towels always available. Close to Marina and Thursday night market is extensive and fun. My only issue is with the buffet food. Big selection, but average food quality overall. Food not at at safe temps. Alcoholic drinks are readily available, but seemed to be missing the alcohol. Wait staff were wonderful, friendly and attentive. Food at Mole and Fish House was good. A good value, location for the price. We may go again in the future.

The property is beautiful but beware, I got so sick from their buffet food I was hospitalized. The diagnosis was E-coli, Salmonella and Vibrosis. This was the only place I ate on the trip, their buffet was bland and seemed to not be up to proper temperature.

Arriving in the lobby of the Melia Puerto you are greeted by the expanse of the open air lobby with the breeze from the Pacific and friendly staff. The lobby’s architecture was the first thing I noticed, and in fact the whole complex had interesting elements, but I’m a photography nerd so…however, this brings me to my main critique; the property is over 30 years old, so I expect some patina, but unfortunately some areas were not receiving the care needed which ultimately takes you out of the experience. I do appreciate a building with character, so I would still choose a property like this over a sterile newer one. The staff throughout the stay was very friendly, from the front desk to the cleaning staff. The waiters at the main buffet still made it feel like you were special. The room we stayed in looked over the garden and although it wasn’t a special view, it blocked the noise from the pool area and the short walk to the beach with its expansive view of the old part of Puerto Vallarta and mountains made up for it as that’s where we spent the majority of our stay. Like the architecture, it felt like there was an attempt to make the stay unique through providing cultural elements in the food and entertainment. We actually ate at the buffet for every meal, so I can’t comment on the a la cart options. All this means is that we were satisfied with the options and felt the service was very good but be prepared to get aggressive when the tastiest deserts come out! Overall we had a great stay with very good value for money and the three families and other friends all found aspects they enjoyed. It was great being on a smaller property where the kids could wander a bit and you could easily run up to your room anytime you needed. In fact, we randomly ran into three families from where we live who chose to stay there which I take as a good sign!

We had an excellent stay at the Melia. No complaints!! The service, food, etc was top notch. Our housekeeping team was exceptional, ot was a pleasure to come back to a spotless room every day. The view from.our deck was breathtaking and as mentioned before; the food was over the top! Grateful for a wonderful stay!!
