Second time visiting Punta Cana, first time staying at Iberostar. The resort was immaculate!! We booked a Garden lake view suite and although a ocean view would have been nice we opted to save our money and spend it towards the Star Prestige (SP) service instead....well worth it in my opinion. Check in was a breeze, as a SP guest they have a separate lounge for check in. Obviously the garden view was nothing to write home about but again the money saved skipping the ocean view well spent. Our butlers (Dewal and Stahlin) were on top of their game and we honestly didn't want for anything!! Because we were SP guests all of our dinner reservations were made in advance for us. We did not eat at all the restaurants they chose and changed a few based on preferences but we did eat at the following: El Galeon (surf and turf) - for a fish and seafood restaurant my friends steak was not cooked properly, the rest of the meal was decent but not enough to for us to go back again. La Tentazione (Italian) - mediocre, but I'm Italian and very picky for this type of cuisine. Hasira (Japanese) - for a Japanese steak house the food was decent. The appys were good and the presentation pleasing. Beware, the noodles that are served with your dinner are just that....noodles, nothing fancy at all and def have nothing to do with Japanese cuisine. Bella Vista (main buffet) - for an all inclusive buffet the food was decent. Breakfast was the best meal here with a plethora of options from healthy to not so much :0) Every night a dinner there is a different theme, we ate here a few times. La Perla (pool buffet) - serves lunch daily. Many options available including a fresh salad bra, pizza, burgers in addition to hot entrees. Room service - it was ok if you wanted something in a pinch Overall the food at the resort was decent, it definitely didn't have that "wow" factor. As a SP guest we had our own beach area with Bali beds. This area also has its own bar. When we weren't on the beach we were pull side. The Bali beds at the pool are first come first serve .... **TIP: go to pool at 0700 to get your towels and put them on your Bali bed BUT be back by 0900 or they will give the bed away!! They do in fact keep a watchful eye because the beds are popular. The nightlife here isn’t crazy but after most dinners we found ourselves at Robusto, the resort cigar bar chatting with the sommelier Kaylin before heading over to Cala Esmeralda which is the resorts music bar. This bar is located on a Spanish Galleon ship replica and there you will find the energetic (and always smiling )Sylvestri waiting to serve you a cocktail. Overall we had an enjoyable week at Iberostar. I would recommend this resort and I would not hesitate to book at another Iberostar in the future!
