Perfect place to stay when you don’t have a car.

Great place to stay, cannot fault it. Very close to Fisherman’s Wharf and within easy waking distance of the cable cars, boats to Alcatraz, Pier 33, Pier 39, etc. Excellent breakfast! Something for everyone with a great range of cereals, yoghurts, juices, fresh fruit, cheese, ham, eggs, sausages, bagels, potatoes and a range of lovely breads, plus much more. Friendly staff and very easy for any pick ups by taxi or Uber as there is a central passage for cars to pass through. The place is kept clean constantly. We did not hire a car until we left San Francisco and we didn’t need one when we stayed here.
Great hotel in a fantastic location

Really pleased we chose to stay at the Riu. Breakfast is great, plenty of options. Rooms are a really good size and beds are really comfortable. On arrival we had an issue with our booking, thankfully the manager was quick to resolve it despite Expedia being at fault. We really appreciated this. Location was perfect for everything we wanted to do around the city. Parking is expensive but we knew the cost in advance, along with the additional hotel tax. We would definitely stay here again.
Nice hotel with nice breakfast, excellent location

Lovely hotel, clean, excellent location, nice breakfast that can be busy at times but queues move fast and staff are very efficient, fresh food put out very regularly. Hotel bar is nice, only downfall is the lady serving is very slow and can be rude, other guy serving very nice and friendly and your not waiting 29 mins in a drink, bar area lovely and comfortable after a long day exploring, would definitely stay again
Hidden Charge and Rude Staff

Great location, rooms are dated but okay for the price. WANING: there's a hidden cost that was not communicated prior to booking or at check-in. I was surprised by a $38.67 per night charge to my credit card AFTER I checked out. When I called the hotel to ask for clarification, the staff was rude and told me the charge is non-negotiable because it's for coffee/fridge in the room and the usage of the hotel common area. I don' t have a problem paying for it provided it was communicated at booking or even at check-in. The dishonest practice is a borderline fraud. If I have known about the hidden cost ahead of time, I'd have considered other hotels in the surrounding area.
Great hotel

This hotel is very good, location excellent, staff helpful, room comfortable and breakfast nice. Only concern was on arrival they asked for 300 dollars deposit which we got back at the end of stay, plus 148 dollars for 5 night stay some sort of hotel / tourist tax ...when I enquired I was told its was to help maintain the pool, gym and wi fi ...alot of money when you have already paid fir the hotel ....but overall a great hotel
