    Hotel lobby bar looking a bit tired

    We spent a few hours having drinks and food in the lobby bar , The service and furniture have definitely slipped since our last visit . The service was slow , the food was okay but certainly not amazing and taking into consideration the mouth watering prices they charge they certainly have enough money to replace the beaten up chairs and sofas . It all looks a bit tired dirty and beaten up . But the question that I have is why do I see obvious faults yet management seem to be myopic . This is not what I expect from a hotel that charges more than $540 per night for a room

    Absolute perfect location for airport stay but you will pay for the convenience. Our one fault is by booking a club room as we have stayed in many club rooms before to enjoy the canapés and free beverage in evening however this one doesn’t include free alcoholic beverage, it uses an honesty bar. For the price we paid we expected the full service. Next time I’d def stay just for the convenience but I’d choose a standard room and save some money. A lesson learned.

    This is my very first Tripadvisor review and it saddens me to be *that person* but after my experience I was motivated to finally get on here. On a stopover during a long and grueling business trip I decided to treat myself to a bit of luxury and convenience in staying at this hotel. It was definitely clean and convenient but overall the value stopped there. The room itself was average and the service was definitely sub-par, especially given the incredibly high price. For example, at every other Fairmont property or 4 star plus hotel I have stayed at as a single business traveller with obviously heavy bags I was at offered bellhop service or at least the use of a baggage trolley. No such offer here, so in my exhausted state I heaved everything up to the room myself. The extra charge for wifi is downright petty and insulting at this price point. Staff at the lounge were not at all busy at that time of the evening yet were very inattentive/disinterested in providing any kind of prompt service. I sat at the bar and was not noticed, greeted, nor served for over 10 minutes as apparently fiddling with the glassware took huge priority. Then when my nightcap was finished I sat with an empty glass sitting in front of me for so long it was absurd. I wish I would have just taken a cab to any of the other hotels in the area and saved myself hundreds of dollars and major disappointment. All in all, the experience fell way below what was expected for the single most expensive hotel room I have ever stayed in and what is supposedly a 4.5 star property. I am very unhappy and regretful in my decision to stay here, but at least I got a reinforcement of the hard and expensive lesson that price is not always a true reflection of quality or service. I guess Fairmont thinks it's fine to rest it's laurels upon the captive marketplace of an in-airport location in this case. Noted.

    Great night on an unexpected stopover

    This hotel was very convenient for a very unexpected stay in Vancouver. The room was an upgraded room at the recommendation of front counter staff and I was very happy we made that choice. We were in a room with a view of the runway which my kids thoroughly enjoyed. I have a 1 year old who still needed a crib and what they brought was better than some hotels. It was a nice wooden crib that was presented with baby lotion and 2 types of shampoo/soap and a little yellow rubber duck. They also brought in a diaper genie which was MUCH appreciated. The room was very clean and spacious and comfortable. There was a great bathtub that my children enjoyed and I also hd a nice bath. The layout allowed for tv watching while in the bath. There were really great smelling toiletries which were a welcome addition as our luggage had left without us. Staff were also very accommodating to assist with needed extras. We had access to the lounge where there was nice snacks around dinner time and then lovely desserts and coffee in the early evening. It was nice and relaxing. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious. Very good selection. The staff in the hotel were amazing. So friendly and great with my children. When I was checking in one of the front counter persons brought over a wagon for my 3 year old. He was so excited. The staff member interacted with him while he made his selection. I highly recommend this location. It’s a bit pricey but was worth the cost.

    The hotel is conveniently located by the International terminal. Easy access by elevator or escalator. Large comfortable rooms and excellent bathrooms. Great buffet breakfast (eggs available cooked to order) but a little pricey.
