gorgeous resort, 24 hour bars and no kids so you should expect to see lots of friendly and party type people. Tons of things to do on the resort, great beach. Rooms were very nice and cleaned and restocked daily, a safe with key to put your valuables in. Dinners were romantic, be sure to go to lobby and schedule in some nice restaurants so you aren’t just eating at the buffet every night. There is always food somewhere. Our air conditioner beside the bed did begin to drip tons of water, which is very dangerous on the floor but we just set towels down because we were on vacation, screw it. Lobby staff could use a couple of more workers at night time during check in And resolving issues. (Staff was very fun and sweet)
Not what I expected

I thought this resort was suppose to have a kind and welcoming staff. We were wrong! Our plane was late, our transfer bus was also running late, which has nothing to do with the resort. So we get to the resort at 10pm, we are all exhausted and tired. All we want to do is get our room and unwind. When we finally get up to the front desk to check in the desk clerk ignores the long line up of people and decides to help people that weren't even in line and already had rooms. So 45 minutes has gone by and we're still in the lobby waiting to be checked in. We finally recieved our room keys about 11:15pm. We unpacked quickly and went to the lobby bar for a drink. The ladies at the bar were ignoring almost everyone that came in on our bus. We literally had to ask a manager/supervisor to be served. So the first night was a write off. I thought the service would get better as the staff got to know us. The service in the front lobby did not get any better. I had to get our rep to explain to the front desk man that we paid for extra features and not to double charge us. We went to the pool bar and buffet bar. The servers and bartenders were great! The rooms are fair but weathered and clean. You can hear your neibours peeing amd their conversations. The food was the same everyday, no variety, no theme. The pool was very dirty. The spa was great but only one person at a time. Only one lady does all the treatments and it was a great price. I would go back just for the spa treatment. The shows were great after supper. Honestly this hotel is great if you have no expectations or are going on alot of excursions. If we weren't out site seeing and going on excursions, I wouldn't stay here. Next time, I will stay at Memories or Blau Marina. Its great for a cheaper clean room to sleep and have a few drinks after a night out on the town. Not really a great place to relax. Overall I gave this resort a 2 star rating. I've stayed in 3 star resorts in Cuba and this one is the lowest rated.
Another great stay.

I have been coming back to this lovely hotel/resort more than 15 times since 2002. If you are looking for the impersonal glitzy luxury experience then you will probably feel that you have not found it at Los Cactus. It is a friendly resort with excellent staff that soon will be friends with you. They are there for you whenever you need them. If you are looking an excellent place to stay in your next vacation/holidays stay at this lovely hotel/resort. You will not be disappointed.

The resort is very good some rooms still need to be updated. The room i had was a suite and was an older room but clean and i had no issues. The food was for the most part good I have never gone to Cuba for the food, that being said the Cuban Restaurant is my favourite. The buffet I like because i can always find enough to eat and I like the vegetable selection. I need to give a huge thank you for the exceptional service our group (10) received from Ieslin she looked after us most days and its staff like her that makes us go back, many of us 15+ times. The lobby bar staff again top notch service. The Customer Relation staff 3 ladies checked with us daily to make sure our visit was as expected. The Beaches ...wow so awesome. The downside or negative area is the fitness room its a joke nothing works many of us would use it daily but again its a joke. The other area that as a disappointment was the Piano Bar, they had a karaoke machine that was a huge nightly attraction and its broken that was a nightly attraction every year we were there in the past. I hope this review helps make your choice to go to Cuba and try this resort. Jim from Edmonton Alberta Canada

Our first time trying All Inclusive & won't be our last! We had an Ocean View Suite & were really happy with it. The rooms are in small blocks rather than a high rise hotel which is what we liked. Bed very comfy, beautiful balcony but the towels & shower curtain could have been newer. Staff overall very friendly especially in the dining area, not so much on reception unfortunately or on some of the bars. You have to pay extra for a safe. Food was good for Cuba but became a little samey (if you want to try a different restaurant book when you arrive). Lots of local cats & birds join you for your meals but they're not too intrusive! Lovely beach & free sea kayaking. Good location to get bus into town (don't bother going up towards the marina end of the peninsula though). Would definitely recommend a stay here.
