Tulum is about an hour's drive south of Playa del Carmen. It has one of the most visited archaeological sites in the Yucatan Peninsula. One of the main family draws here is the oceanside location. There is a beautiful beach inside the archeological zone so bring your swimming gear.
Coba is about a two-hour drive from Playa del Carmen. Many tour companies offer all-inclusive trips that include bike rides, dinner and an evening show. The main feature at Coba is the Nohoch Mul pyramid, which at 42 metres is the tallest pyramid in the Yucatan. You and your kids will love this climb. After all, how often do you get an opportunity to climb a pyramid?
