Lovely relaxing hotel with wonderful staff!

Vicky H on Apr 18, 2024

Great relaxing holiday, service brilliant thanks to all the efficient, friendly staff. Beach lovely and also quiet so always able to find a sunbed. Pool looked good too but we didn’t use it as we prefer the beach. Food was always well presented and good quality, once you understood about the separate menu for all inclusive there was never a problem and always something good to choose from. Definitely want to return! However if you want lots going on around you it’s not the place to visit unless you hire a car.

Lovely hotel but there are drawbacks in the bland and very limited food selection and the location is isolated.

Great location, friendly staff, very relaxed atmosphere, if you want to chill then this place is it. However, the restaurant choices are very limited for all inclusive and are somewhat bland, lacking the Caribbean experience in the kitchen unlike elsewhere!

Shabby Chic! Amazing Staff, tranquil setting and beautiful beaches.

We arrived on a Monday afternoon & initially thought we had been dropped off at the wrong place as from the outside it doesn’t look like a hotel at all. Fear not .. once you go through the doors your holiday begins. We had to check ourselves in online & then were served our welcome drinks before being shown to our room. The hotel had laid out a bottle of fizz for us as it was our 30th wedding anniversary which was very thoughtful. Room was lovely , clean and the bed was comfy. Shower is small so those larger guests might find this an issue but we were fine. Also this is one of the few hotels that provides liquid hand soap beside the basin instead of those annoying little bars! There is one bar and one restaurant, all open air which is lovely . Pool is clean and surrounded by sunbeds and sun sails. Beaches are clean, always plenty of sunbeds. This is a very quiet hotel. If you want to relax and drink it’s perfect! Bar staff were amazing ?? cocktails were delicious. Food- The evening meal provides two menus, one for all inclusive which changes each night but is quite limited and the main menu that you can buy from. It is based on an Italian menu so don’t expect local dishes or spice. This is where the hotel is let down slightly - I do like the idea of a la carte as there is less food waste but the evening meals were not amazing. Breakfasts never disappointed and for lunch we always ate from the bar menu which was delicious. The only other downside was the WiFi which was intermittent and this meant you couldn’t really watch the amazing tv in the bedroom as it would buffer half way through a program. I ended up buying WiFi from my uk provider instead. All these points considered, we would definitely come back as it’s beautiful, tranquil and the staff make this hotel. Points to remember : bug spray is a must, the two bottles of water you get on arrival - don’t throw them away as these are to be refilled from the water dispenser in reception. ( this is a good eco point, less plastic wastage) Coffee - the coffee machines on floor 2 and in reception provide hotter coffee than that served at breakfast so we always took one in with us.

Outstanding staff and tranquil atmosphere

As other reviewers say, the staff are without doubt Ocean Point's best asset. Everyone seems in a positive mood and I felt this even rubbed off on the guests, helping the atmosphere to be something quite special. From the owner to the restaurant manager to the general staff (especially Danivel and Melissa), everybody was just so welcoming! Food in the restaurant and bar was excellent, with a wide selection at breakfast beautifully presented (a pleasant alternative to providing a buffet). I appreciate the emphasis is on Mediterranean food, but I would have appreciated a few more local-style options at dinner (especially nice for variety when on a longer stay). Aspects like being adults-only, or having the pool open 24 hours so you can enjoy a midnight dip, were just brilliant, and I appreciated the good quality hot and cold drinks conveniently available near the room - a much better system than having to wait ages for room service. Check-in was incredibly slick and I think the easiest I've ever experienced. This is a place to come for peace and quiet, so wouldn't be the right choice for party animals, but I really appreciated the serenity and relaxed environment. The layout by the two beaches, with pelicans perching on rocks and atmospherically-placed cannons, is very thoughtfully designed. The rooms are older-style with no modern bells and whistles (except an excellent smart TV), but perfectly clean and comfortable with a pretty colour scheme. Hot water comes and goes a little, but this was never a significant problem. Grounds and house-keeping staff work really hard to keep the property looking smart throughout the day and are always so friendly. Thank you to the wonderful team at Ocean Point for the great work that they do!

We would like to keep it a secret…….! And selfishly not let too many people know about it. It was our fifth time back!!!

As we are returners, there is always a lovely welcome when we check-in from Rossana, Donella and Tara. it’s become our Caribbean home from home, except we don’t do anything but relax, enjoy the food, the beach, the sunset cocktails at the bar next to the water, when the light fades. But above all, the staff make the vacation experience exceptional. Well trained and will recognise the fact you like to engage or not, From Dezzy and Kerry managing things in the restaurant, to Brian and Kean in the bar, nothings a problem. The food is fantastic, it’s served A La Carte from a menu, none of this buffet fighting, the Catch of the Day is always tasty. If you are AI you have a great choice. The rooms are comfortable and clean, if you demand instant hot water and rain showers and a boutique style finish, entertainment every night - this may not be for you. But if you want a relaxing vacation, happy employer feeling and a great atmosphere, a quiet beach (with a drinks and lunch service!) and loungers, watching the pelicans dive into its small bay and every holiday maker in a good mood just chillin’ out, then this is a great choice. To be honest, we have been going to The Caribbean for forty years, we feel personally it brings back the 1980s and 90s comfortable familiarity that you made a good choice of where to stay. Every time we have visited they have just improved the services by adding little things, like a good wine it improves with age. So sorry if we have missed any names, but we would like to give a ‘shout out’ to all the staff . We will be booking a sixth time!
