We traveled with another couple to the Oleo for five nights in February. We found it to be clean, beautiful, and just what we wanted. The ocean water was perfection. Crystal clear water. Fun for swimming if you like diving under some big waves! We always found available beach chairs. Dany was the best beach server! Every person who worked there was gracious, friendly and helpful. We would 100% return there. Sushi at the Starbucks was awesome. The buffet was our favorite for a quick meal. Fish tacos by pool were delicious. The workout area was clean and had everything we needed. The ocean was definitely our favorite part. Since the hotel is smaller it never felt crowded at the Oleo and was just an awesome, relaxing experience. Hats off to Iliana, Dulce and many others at the buffet who treated us so well. Bartenders were lovely. Thank you for a lovely time!

Room was really clean and with amazing view by the Ocean, we did not find any problem in that. Breakfast with various choices and 24/24 service room really fast. Great service and friendly staff, in particular the waiter on the beach, Dany , was really professional and always ready for our request. We will come back !

The staff members were so nice and accomodating! They really wanted to make it the best stay possible. We stayed there for six days, five nights, and it was the perfect amount before we got bored. The facilities are nice and clean and it wasn't too crowded. The beaches were nice but usually, the waves were too strong so to go in the water you had to walk to another beach. We loved the bartenders Gerry and Yolanda, and the general staff Alejandro, Rey, Edgar and more! A great time.

    Health Hazard!

I am writing this review following an absolutely awful experience at Oleo Boutique Hotel, Cancun. My first issue with the hotel is, the hard selling. They specifically told us not to purchase trips and activities through Expedia, instead purchasing trips through the hotel directly. Which happened to be more expensive than Expedia anyway. My second issue is regarding the toilet. 4 separate occasions I reported the broken toilet to reception. The toilet would not flush. On only 1 occasion, the toilet was repaired. I am diabetic and I had to travel 9 floors down to reception, to use the toilet. The third issue is the most concerning. I received an electric shock from a light switch in the bathroom. Water was pouring through the light switches and the ceiling. This is an extreme health hazard and it could’ve resulted in a fatality. I also would like to note our friends had their ceiling collapse 2 days prior. So this hotel is clearly not structurally sound. I reported this via the room telephone, and no one answered the phone. I went downstairs and I was amazed to see 4 members of staff sat down all on their mobile phones... The final issue was due to some sunglasses that were lost. These were reported to reception on 2 occasions. Both times I was told they did not have anything handed in. I had no choice but to replace my sunglasses, at a cost of $400. When I was checking out, I asked a different person at reception to check again. Miraculously, the sunglasses had turned up! They had been sat in the safe for a total of 8 days. This is absolutely despicable. The fact the staff did not do their job properly, and I wasted $400 on a new pair of sunglasses. I was promised by the hotel that I would receive a refund and be contacted via email and I have not received a reply. Overall, ruined what was meant to be a special holiday, as me and my partner got engaged. On a positive note, food choices in the buffet are good & change daily. Willian at the pool bar is excellent and not bad evening entertainment.

An amazing stay at Oleo Playa!

We very much enjoyed our 1 week stay at Oleo! Overall, we had a relaxing time and left satisfied :) Restaurants/food: The food at the Japanese and Mediterranean restaurant really stood out - great menu and high quality! The buffet had a great selection of choices with a different cuisine theme each evening. Service: I think the biggest + at this resort was the service! Everyone was extremely kind and went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. Special shout outs to Blas, Dulce, Eliana, Yeseli, Jose and Manuel (there are a few others as well). Thank you so much for making our time there extra special! Hotel/room: The resort isn't gigantic which we liked because it wasn't overcrowded and we rarely ever had to wait for restaurants. The rooms are clean, but the hotel building seems slightly old and requires some renovations. If you're looking for a nice all inclusive experience, I would absolutely recommend Oleo!
