Came here for business meetings and I am really pleasantly surprised by this resort. The room rate was surprisingly affordable, although I suspect it’s off-season and may be a conference rate. It’s hard to tell if this is an older hotel property that has been completely redone, or a new hotel designed in a more classic hotel beach style architecture, but either way the rooms and entire property are very up-to-date with great furnishings and finishes. My room on the sixth floor of the Palms tower was about halfway to the beach edge of the building (both towers are perpendicularally-oriented to the beach), so every (odd-numbered) room of this tower numbered over x45 overlooks a pool as well as a beach/gulf view. Very large TV, alarm clock with current iPhone port plug, amazingly good bed, in-room coffee, small water bottles in room are free and are restocked, very nice oversize shower next to a nice double sink bathroom with great lighting and makeup mirror. And great sound deadening! One night here there was a family of five in the next room and I didn’t hear them at all. The air-conditioner spins up very quietly. The colors and finishes are contemporary and current. Highly recommend this property for business or as a getaway. 2 pools, beach, spa (didn’t try).

Stayed here for one night at the end of a holiday to break up our journey from Clearwater to Miami. We had two connecting rooms. Simply put - this is exactly what you would expect of a high end resort: Rooms: Lovely beds, spacious, clean, big bathrooms. We had nice sea view (6th floor) Pool: two big pools. Kids loved the one with the little slide. We probably were there at the edge of summer season so it was not busy, which made for an even better experience. Staff: very friendly and attentati e throughout the resort. Restaurants: We had dinner at Ario which was pricy, but a very good dining experience (both the food and the wine list) and I would say value for money. Breakfast in Maia is equally tasty and it’s a very well stocked and diverse buffet service. We had breakfast included Beach is vast but didn’t explore it a lot. Did not use the spa / fitness facilities. If I would have any criticism about the resort it would be its size. It is massive and you can almost get lost. If you are after any kind of intimacy, probably this is not the place for you.

This resort is exactly what I expected from Marriott standards. Very good service, nice room, great breakfast. The only thing I didn’t like was the beach since I thought Marco Island had amazing crystalline water and this beach has not. I guess there are other beaches in the area or you have to take a boat. But we stayed all the week-end at the resort and spent a great family time. My daughter is 2 years old and the Tiki Pool was perfect for her!

Hotel is just a beautiful as advertised. Couldn't ask for a more attentive staff and courtesy on everything. Pools are beautiful and the beach !!! - walk for miles on the gorgeous white sands. I found the best seashells, too. When you stay at a Marriott, you can't go wrong!!

Was here for a mix of business and pleasure recently. The entire resort is fresh from a remodel and it shows. Everything looks and feels great. Clean common areas, sharply appointed rooms, nice restaurants, great pools, fun outside bars and a beautiful beach. For conventions, they have ample room with easy access to the rest of the resort. The 10K Alley is a fun space with lots to do for kids and adults. It was a nice surprise. We enjoyed our room. It was quite comfortable with a nice view. The bed was great, as were the linens and towels. Room service was prompt, as was housekeeping. The staff was quite helpful, with great attitudes. Standouts include the staff behind the pool bar that has over 100 different rums at your disposal. The only thing that keeps me from giving five stars is the manner in which they go about shutting down their beach activities. The resort is prime for conventions and business events. Most of those events go until the afternoon. However, if its after 4pm, you cannot rent any of their water activities. No Jet Skis, No Catamarans, No Kayaks, etc. That's a shame as many of us wanted to rent these activities but were out of luck. It's Florida in August. The sun is out until after 7pm. Worst of all was the way the beachfront staff begins picking up chairs and umbrellas at 4pm. While sitting in a lounge chair on the beach with my Fiancee, a crew of workers descended onto the beach and began gathering chairs. They flipped, drug and tossed the chairs all around people trying to enjoy themselves on the beach. After getting pelted with sand 3 or 4 times from chairs sailing around me, I decided to leave and go for a swim. Not wanting to cause a scene, I kept my mouth shut. I realize the guys have a job to do but, doing this while folks are on the beach in close vicinity? Again, it's light out until after 7pm. This was a great disappointment to me.
