Smelly Room

Kelly H on Apr 13, 2024

This used to be our go to place to stay, not anymore. The room had a horrible smell, either from food cook in the room or the mold. There was a red stain on the carpet and water damage on the ceiling and the furniture had the same smell as the room. Just didn’t feel clean and left earlier than we planned. Very disappointing.

The best hotel for your buck in Halifax! Dont hesitate booking

andreapaul10 (Miramichi, Canada) on Apr 11, 2024

The Hollis Hotel Halifax has by far the best customer service! They have a stunning hotel with spacious clean rooms! The valet parking is so helpful especially travelling with a baby! The pool and gym area was clean and very enjoyable! This hotel is downtown- walking distance to everywhere (waterfront, DAL, casino, pubs and restaurants and shopping). We really appreciated the staffs genuine kindness! Everyone was amazing! Thanks to the housekeepers who tidied up our room while I was at DAL doing exams and my husband was out for a walk with the baby! Definitely, we will be back each time we stay in Halifax! Great value for the cost! Highly recommend a suite if you are travelling with a baby! The baby was able to sleep in the crib they provider in the bedroom while my husband and I stayed up in the living room space having a late supper! There is also a little kitchenette and dining area

Great location and comfortable facilities

Pauline S (Oxfordshire, United Kingdom) on Mar 10, 2024

This was booked for us by Trailfinders so we didn't really know what it was going to be like or even that it was part of the Hilton chain. It was centrally placed, we had a great view over the harbour, the bed was comfortable and all we needed for our stay was to hand including complimentary coffee and water. Our friends' room was not quite as nice and smaller as the hotel layout is somewhat strange. Nevertheless a good stay and great location.

Excellent location for food and fun

WildTM17 (Saint John, Canada) on Feb 06, 2024

We usually stay at the Homewood Suites and the Hollis is much preferable. We paid $10 more per night for a more central location downtown near the waterfront. We are diamond members and our breakfast in the onsite restaurant was completely covered for our Family of 4. The restaurants was MUCH better than most hotel restaurants. It wouldn't compare favorably to many more well known restaurants in the area, but as an easy option (whether paying or not) it was quite good. a few interesting options and classic breakfast options as well. Besides being central to downtown the exact location is quite good. a high end grocery is right beside the hotel. many excellent restaurants within 2 or 3 blocks. Walk 2 blocks up the hill to Obladee Wine Bar and Restaurant for excellent wine and food. Parking was the only nuisance. Self Parking was advertised but when we got there the only option was Valet. As businesses continue to offload service industry worker wages onto patrons who are expected to tip, this kind of service is becoming more and more unwelcome.

Our Favorite Hotel

kario691 on Jan 23, 2024

Best rooms in Halifax by far, and the TV in the bathroom mirror was a fun surprise! (Only available in some rooms). Plus you get warm chocolate chip cookies when you check in. The hotel decor is pleasant all around with free coffee in the only. We also loved the complimentary bath robes for our stay. Our best highlight this time was STEPHEN at the front desk. He went well above and beyond to make our stay perfect was super kind to my son. He is fantastic at what he does and will keep us coming back.
