Hilton was super clean. Newly remodeled. You pay extra for resort fee and valet but it’s expected. Room was updated. And no issues Super satisfied. Only tho I would say is a breakfast a bit less expensive

Waikoloa Ocean Palace is very out dated. Rooms were small for double occupancy and very old for the price. A/c broke and was extremely hot for 3 days of our stay. Staff was nice and friendly but not worth the price.

Depends on what you are looking for as this resort is massive, commercial and crowded. We visited the pools and the lagoon for a day but were happy to be staying at one of their sister properties. Someone commented that it was like Disneyland and I would agree and not my personal style. People everywhere and of course a lot of children. No privacy and plan to walk a lot. No beach as access to the water is rocky but beautiful views. Pools and slides great for the kids. Lagoon felt artificial but if you like big hotels with lots of activities this might be for you.

Stayed here 4 nights with husband and teen daughter. The grounds are spectacular and is a very large complex. It is easy to walk everywhere you need to go, although there is transportation if you needed it between towers by monorail or boat. We were in a Palace Tower Royal Suite and it was laid out nicely. Super big and met our needs as a small family. That said, it really really needs an update. Decor was oldish. We had someone come and try and fix a flickering shower light on 2 occasions. There are not many outlets and zero usb ports, which could be such an easy fix. We ate most mornings at Big Island Breakfast. Never ever disappointed and service was great! We ate at Nui Italian one nigh, which was good. Service could have been better. The quick pizza take out was super good, did that for our daughter one night. We rented a cabana one day while we were there and it was one of the highlights at the resort. Service was excellent was all the away around at the cabana and highly recommend doing this. Our cabana was by the lagoon beach which also over looked the ocean. We actually did the beach bed. Quick drive Waikoloa shops and restaurants, which could also be walked but we'd rather drive. We would return here, but again, needs an update room wise.

Friends and I really enjoyed our visit. As diamond member I was luckily upgraded to ocean view rooms in Makai lagoon tower. We also got free continental breakfast which was filling enough as brunch. The rooms seem to have been recently refurbished and feels new and comfortable. The lagoon, pool and water slides are great for kids. They could be a bit crowded, and there needs to be more chairs in the shade. The whole resort feels like Disneyland, and who doesn't like living in Disneyland?
