It was amazing from beginning to end EXCEPT for one elevator that was broke down. It caused for a long wait time. And the housekeepers were a bit slow when cleaning the room. Front desk was a bit slow as well. Aside from that, the resort is well kept. The activities, especially Sunday night, was engaging and fun. I enjoyed the food and the service. Everyone was so kind. Resort was close to Doctor’s Cave which we visited and different stores to shop. I did not do much excursions... I just wanted to relax and enjoy. Big up to ALTON!! He made by dinner by the beach a very special one. He was very courteous. Whatever was asked of him, he fulfilled. And dinner was amazing. I enjoy food ?? It was a nice time to be away from home and the madness.

    Wonderful people, service & food

This was not our first trip here and won't be our last. I think some of the negative reivews are sincere, but not well thought out. This is a FAMILY RESORT and if you don't want to be around kids it may be wise for you to go to an adult resort. Here are the estimates of the demographics we observed for 10 days in January: 60% with children from new born to teens, multi generations 30% couples with the majority over 50 years old 5% Jamaican's on vacation (usually weekends) and very respectul 5% Singles under 25 (Drinking age is 18) If you are looking for an ongoing party or to hook up, this may not be the place for you. The hotel is old and the way it was built on the property there are very few true oceanfront rooms. You may have to look at the employee parking lot, a roof with heat pumps, or a bit of the ocean and the items listed. Can't change that because of the way the building sits. If it's important for you to have an oceanfront room, pay the extra money to get what you want. Or, point your chair in the direction you want on your balcony and see the beauty of Jamaica. If you book on third party sites don't get upset when you don't have all the facts about the hotel. If you go to the Hilton site there is a banner at the top of the page that clearly states prices are for 2 and explains the rate for additional adults and children different ages. The price is not for your extended family and as many as you can fill into an 8 X 10 space. This was a common shouting match we heard when walking past the front desk. Along the same line, because the buildings are old, rooms are smaller than you may be use to. But, they are clean and probably could use a good upating. The check in process is somewhat slow, but we were able to avoid the long lines. We booked a private ride from the airport to the hotel. It cost $8.00 more roundtrip for the private ride for 2. We got to the hotel faster than the group that was on our flight with a shared ride. We didn't have to wait for everyone to arrive to go to the hotel or stop to drop off at other resorts. Not sure why we saw lines during our stay, but do know why we didn't stand in line. This is not a resort where you can take long walks on the beach. They offer an early morning walk on the golf course and have a nice gym. During storms, even windy days, the seaweed ends up on the beach. We're talking massive amounts of seaweed that is taken by bulldozer to a back area of the hotel. With high winds and storms you are not permitted in the water. It is for you own safety and not sure anyone would want to be in the ocean with gobs of seaweed. We have stayed in Ocho Rios and the beach/seaweed situation was similar. May be true of the island. The quieter side of the resort is what we prefer. We want to read, relax, and shut down for 10 days. We found the majority of people feel the same. Go back to the demographics and we also found the 18 year olds that are drinking legally for the first time also like this side of the beach. Frotunately, they usually fell asleep by 2:00 PM, but after a bit of noise! ONeal did all he could to keep them engaged to keep them quiet and it actually seemed to work. He would stop by their areas when he was taking beverage glasses to be washed. We are Diamond Members. This is a Playa hotel that works in conjunction with Hilton. For the most part we were given the benefits of an HHonors member with the exception of a room upgrade. This was not an option and we understand the upgrade must be available for the entire length of our stay. Standing at the front desk yelling won't help your case. If you paid for an ocenfront room and it wasn't available you may have reason to question, but don't embarass yourself by your actions. Too many adults checking in at this hotel truly seemed to think they were entitiled. You're on vacation. Relax. The special nights (Beach night, BarBQue Night, Jamaican night) is outside fresh restaurant. There is seating inside and outside. The food is varied and outstanding. It is also a feeding frenzy. You have a choice of pushing your way in to the food, eating at a different restaurant, or do as we do. We wait until the crowds clear and get a wonderful meal. We are in no hurry and wait for those starving to finsh piling their plates. Bottom line, you have the option of staying elsewhere. The above is a general theme to what we observed and appeared to be the major complaints of those that couldn't find anything positive to say. In all honesty, they were the minority. They are the poeple that review on this site for the first time and frequently have never left a review before. They also seem to be in a row that would indicate every discrutaled guest staying in a room at the same time all left poor reviews. Is the resort perfect, absolutely not, but the positive outweighs the negative. In closing, my disappointment is the lack of tipping by the patrons. The amount you pay for your all inclusive is not going into the pockets of those doing the work. Yes, it's expensive to travel, but paying for GOOD service should be worked into your vaction budget.

We enjoyed very much our state in Jamaica and specifically in Hilton resort there. Food was excellent, very nice service people, sea beach, pool, gym and other facilities around. I also enjoyed good tennis lesson from a tennis coach Mario.

This is our 4th week long stay at this resort. Our 3rd in 2017 was horrendous, we thought one more chance to win our hearts back. The hotel advertised (remodeled) , not that we experienced, the areas are rundown. The remodeling that they did took all of the island charm and made it into a cafeteria that could be anywhere in a 2 star hotel. The rooms smell musty, the AC is extremely loud and smells. The bathrooms do not work and all the doors and handles are so dirty and sticky. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, the towels were falling apart at the pool. The WiFi was spotty at best. The food was also generic and not what it used to be, or was sitting out for too long. The staff tried to compensate for the lack of 4 star quality, but they should not have too. We will come back to Jamaica but our 5th trip will be at a different resort. We only expect what they advertise and what we pay for. Unfortunately the Hilton Rose Hall did not live up to our prior positive experiences. We wished that it did because coming back without children should have been easier and more relaxing.

“Paradise”at Hilton Rose Hall NO MORE

We used to love this hotel and the experience. The hotel has become rundown (even after remodeling). They have made it into a 2 star experience. The food was not good, the ambiance and atmosphere very generic. The accommodations uncomfortable & non-functioning. For the price and travel time it is not worth it. How sad in such a beautiful place, they changed the feeling to be anywhere in any city at any hotel.
