My stay at the Riviera was quite enjoyable. Everyone there was so welcoming and friendly! Our room was comfortable and had a patio next to the pool, which was very relaxing. I wish that we could have stayed longer, but will next time, as I’m sure to be back here again soon. We had lunch at the restaurant outside adjunct to the pool and it was a treat. It’s a unique set up, in that the pool and restaurant are separated by a hedge and fencing, but it has the feeling of a large, open area. The food was delicious! Our server, I think her name was Maria, was attentive and helpful. It was a wonderful time!

Arrived at the property building where are room was located (block 8) to the unpleasant smell of drains, not a great start but the room was fine and didn’t smell. Rooms back onto staff entrance and trash area so not a great location .7am woken to what can only be described as the sound of a monster truck parked outside the room . Reported the issue to front desk who said they would look into it . Now 8am noise still there after closer inspection I think it’s some sort of huge motor or fan on the roof. Rang the front desk again several times they wouldn’t answer my calls . Now there’s the roof motor and a large delivery truck parked out side the room to add the orchestra of motors. Either way not a pleasureable relaxing experience I was hoping for . They shouldn’t have guests staying in those rooms with that kind of noise . Would add a video of the noise if I could

We had such a great time - check in staff was super friendly and we felt so welcomed. Had lunch in the restaurant and the server was very nice and the food was delicious. Had the salmon bowl and everyone at the table had to try it - SO good. We also split some fried artichokes and beet salad; also delicious. I would come back here just to eat in the restaurant. The big pool was busy, so went to the back pool which was more relaxing anyway. We will definitely come back - for the friendly staff and food especially.

If you're looking to stay in actual Palm Springs, this isn't the hotel for you. The staff is fine, but I found them unaccommodating and unwilling to work with my schedule. The hotel itself is also poorly designed and confusing. I've stayed at many Marriott properties and a number of hotels in Palm Springs and this is one of the poorer stays I've had. Honestly, as a Platinum/Titanium Elite member, I expect more. I don't care if Coachella is coming. One young man at the front desk was wonderful, but other than that, I was uninspired. The room itself was okay...but not enough to make up for the service I received here. To be honest, I'd rather stay in any other hotel in the area and next time I'm here, regardless of business or pleasure, will be sure to not stay here again.

So I have always made it a point to only write good reviews so I am going to start on a positive. The resort has a cute mid century vibe. Now let me tell you the rooms were motel quality, dirty and broken down. I booked a poolside room and paid extra for it. But we did not have pool access from the room or a patio. The room is disgusting dirt. The carpet visible stained, head spots on the head boards. Also I even asked specifically about fees they told me they were included in what had already paid. On my last day I noticed they had been charging me an extra $50 dollars a day in fees. I just want to say for a resort they only have two pools and only one restaurant. There isn’t much around this hotel, so expect to pay a great deal on uber on top of your resort fees. I will never stay at this hotel again, I would not recommend it, I feel cheated and sad after my wonderful weekend.
